****
Paj: Ulle poganuma? 😬
Man: Akka ivlo dhooram vandhuttu yen ipdi oru kelvi ketkuringe? 🤪
Paj: Ille romba buildup kudukkuranga enakke light-ah bayama irukku. 🤪
Man: Adhukkunu patient-eh vittutu epdi akka poga mudiyum? 🤪
Jos: Dr. Manju, here is the access card for the cell. Don't lose it. Don't give it to anyone. Keep it safely, especially from your patient. Am I clear?
Man: Yes. 😬
Jos: Dr. Pajapathy, unfortunately, we can't go in there unless there is any emergency. Miruthulan's nurse will be going in with Dr. Manju. 🙂
Paj: What? 😬
Man: 🤪
Jos: Just be calm and hope everything will be fine. We can wait here.
🙍♂️: Hi, I'm Nathaniel, I'm the nurse in charge of Miruthulan. 😊
Jos: Nate has been in Letchworth for 15 years, he have more experience than most of us. 🙂
Nat: Silly boy, go do your work. I'll take care of these ladies. 😊
Jos: Okay, just call me when you need anything. 😁🚶♂️
Nat: You eat chicken? 😊
Paj: Me? Ya, I do. 🤪
Nat: I had brought some lumpias, it's in the pantry there, just go and have some, I'll take care of this. 😁
Paj: Are you sure? 🙄
Nat: Trust me, I have seen more worse than Miru. He's such a good boy. 😊
Man: Akka neenga ponga naan paarthukuren. 😊
Paj: Okay. 😬🚶♀️
Nat: Dr. Manju, keep all of your things here. You shouldn't bring anything. 😊
Man: Okay. 😊
Nat: Now let's go meet Miru boy. 😊
They both went through a doorway that led to an empty corridor. A secured iron door with a locking mechanism was located at the end of the passageway.
Nat: What's cooking in there? Girl or boy? 😊
Man: I didn't wanna know the gender now. Let it be a surprise. 😊
Nat: That's so cute. I have never seen a pregnant doctor here since the day I joined. 😊
Man: Well, then I'm the first one. 😅
Nat: Yup. 🤭
Man: Is this the cell? 🙄
Nat: Yup, use the card to unlock and hide it in your pant pocket. 😁
Manju nervously sighed before opening the door so the two of them could enter. The instant the door closed back mechanically, they were met with total darkness in the room.
Nat: Miru, I told you not to mess with the light bulbs, see, it's dark now, you might trip and fall down. 🙄
The silence was deafening.
Man: 😬
Nat: Don't worry, Dr. Manju, Miru used to play like this. Luckily, I had brought a torchlight. 😊
Nathaniel used the torch to aid a little bit with the lighting in the room. Manju felt glad to be out of the darkness.
Nat: There you go. 😊
Manju's attention was immediately drawn to a 6 foot tall man performing pull-ups using the window bar. He was dressed in a singlet and pants and had medium-length, wavy hair. He was facing the wall, making it impossible for Manju to see his face. As evidenced by his continued pull-ups, he doesn't appear to be bothered by their presence.
Nat: Miru, why are you exercising in the dark? 🙄
Simply pull-ups; no response.
Man: 😬
Nat: We have a new friend here, she'll be your doctor until Dr. Luthfudeen returns. 😊
Nothing has changed.
Man: Appane Muruga. 😬
He suddenly stopped.
Man: 😳
He turned his head just enough to show his bearded face and unfazed demeanour.
Mir: Tamil?
Man: Ne.... neenga Tamila? 😬
Mir: Hmm.
He turned to face them, displaying his muscular self. Manju began to feel frightened as she realised how strong he was.
Nat: Now, you both speak the same language, so be nice to her, she came here for her daily rounds. 😊
Mir: Luth?
Man: Medical conference, vara one week aagum. 😬
Manju became more anxious as Miru approached them on foot. He looked at Manju with no expression as he stood in front of them.
Nat: This is Dr. Manju Shri, she's new here, so no play play, OK? 😊
Mir: 🫱
Man: 🙄
Nat: Come on, don't be shy. 😁
Ma: 🫲🤝
Looking at Miru, Manju gulped with fear.
Mir: Bayapaduringe.
Man: 😳
Mir: Your palm is wet.
Man: Sor.... sorry. 😐
Mir: Chair. 👉
Man: Oh, thank you. 🙂
Nat: See, I told you, he's such a gentleman. 😁
Manju sat down in the chair and looked around the room. It was tidy and organised, which was relatively rare in the asylum's other cells. There were a number of books by the bed. Miru sat on the bed and continued to gaze at Manju.
Mir: Pregnant.
Man: Aama 5½ months. 🙂
Mir: Congrats.
Man: 😊
Miru remained silent as though he was thinking something.
Nat: Nah, Miru, you hold this torchlight and be a good boy, Dr. Manju, I kept some light bulbs behind the door. Let me get it. Miru, be nice to her, I had brought some lumpias for you too. 😊🚶♂️
They were in silence for a bit after Nathaniel left them.
Mir: Ivlo bayam irundha yen vandhinge? Also, you're pregnant.
Man: Ba....bayapaduradhu natural-dhane? Adhukaga try pannama irukka mudiyuma? 🙂
Mir: Neenga epdi? Matha doctors madhiri pesamaledhan irupingala?
Man: Yen apdi ketkuringe? 🙄
Mir: Indha 4 years-le Nathaniel-eh thavara yaarum enkitte seriya pesanadhu ille.
Man: Dr. Luthfudeen? 🙄
Mir: Avan oru kadamaikkudhan enkitte pesuran.
Once more, the room was silent. Manju mustered the strength to speak once more.
Man: 🫱
Mir: 🙄
Man: Namma friends aayidalam, I'm Manju Shri. 😊🫱
Miru chuckled a little.
Mir: Miruthulan. 🫲🤝
Manju panicked as Miru suddenly switched off the torchlight. However, the light quickly lit.
Man: 😳
Manju's nose was an inch away from Miruthulan's fist.
Man: 💀
