It had been nearly two weeks since the men landed at Varuvaan Kaadu. Despite the difficulties they faced, they were able to adapt to the indigenous way of life. They get along well with the pleasant indigenous people and even participate in the plantations and such.

Sailaja enjoys educating the locals, and there are clear gains in language and maths. Vikram, on the other hand, is continually torturing Sailaja with love and remains devoted to her. He always helps with teaching and other tasks, even when Sailaja does not ask for it. It appears that their relationship has improved slightly, but Sailaja continues to treat him in the same manner, and he continues to stay with the men.
