Gage

Gage woke up with a groan, a pounding headache making him squeeze his eyes back shut against the morning sunlight. He buried his head under the pillows and huffed out a frustrated sigh, reaching for Sam blindly. His hand grasped at empty sheets and he unearthed himself from beneath the pillows, wincing as the movement made his headache worse.

The bed was empty. He looked around the room, seeing her nowhere in sight. He let his head fall back onto the pillow with another groan and rubbed his eyes. The sound of dishes clinking together travelled up the stairs and Gage finally pulled the blanket off of himself before forcing his tired body to get up.

He felt drained, like he hadn't gotten any sleep. Running a hand through his hair, he flipped on the bathroom light, flinching at the pain it caused inside of his skull. Another sigh and he reached for the toothpaste and toothbrush sitting beside the sink. He knew why he felt like he had the worst hangover ever right now. He hadn't used magic in years, and dream walking through Sam's mind last night had exerted nearly all the energy he had in him. Derrick's laughing face sprung up in his mind and he had to swallow the growl in his throat.

He rifled through one of the drawers, sighing in relief when he found the bottle of ibuprofen he knew was in there. Popping a couple into his mouth he cupped his hands beneath the faucet and drank them down. When he stood up he looked into the mirror and froze.

A large purple bruise was blooming over his neck, at the center was the perfect silver imprint of Sam's teeth. He leaned closer and studied the mark, touching it gingerly. A small thrill ran through him and he grinned at his reflection.

"We are hers." Kane purred happily.

The faint scent of coffee wafted through the air and Gage left the bathroom, following the smell down the stairs and into the kitchen.

Sam was standing at the stove, her hands preoccupied with something hidden from his view. Gage leaned against the door way and crossed his arms, letting his eyes travel down her body. Her long, dark hair was thrown up in a messy bun, a few tendrils escaping it. She was wearing one of his t shirts, tied in a knot at the bottom because it was too big for her. He licked his lips as he admired her gorgeous ass, the way the shorts she was wearing clung to her just right, outlining each deliciously round cheek in the most tantalizing way. His eyes moved onto her long tanned legs, all the way down to her blue painted toenails.

"Goddess, she's beautiful." He thought, earning a grunt of agreement from Kane who was panting just at the sight of her.

"Fuck." She muttered angrily, stomping her foot and breaking Gage out of his stupor with a chuckle. She straightened her back and looked at him, a blush crawling up her cheeks before she averted her eyes back to her task. He walked up behind her and wound his arms around her stomach, leaning down to kiss his mark on her neck. A shiver ran through her and he grinned against her skin, eying the stove in front of her.

"Making breakfast?" He muttered, his lips brushing against her neck. He heard her breath catch and heartbeat quicken before she shook her head to clear it.

"I was trying to, but I messed up the omelette." She pouted, glaring angrily at the broken omelette and he couldn't help laughing.

"Something tells me it's going to be perfect no matter what." He said, kissing her cheek before turning towards the coffee maker. Caffeine would help his headache, right?

"Well it's just about done, so sit down." She ordered him, waving the spatula in the direction of the kitchen island while picking up another pan and pouring it contents onto a plate.

"Yes ma'am." He said with a grin, holding his cup of coffee carefully as he took his seat.

A few moments later Sam placed a plateful of bacon and hash browns in front of him, along with another plate for his omelette. His mouth watered and he smiled up at her while she sat down across from him. On her own plate she had sunny side up eggs, toast, and bacon.

"This looks delicious." He said, starting to dig into his meal. He popped a piece of omelette into his mouth and groaned. It was so much better than it looked. She giggled and broke open the yolk of her egg with her toast.

"Thank you." She said quietly. If Gage didn't have super sensitive hearing he was sure he almost wouldn't have heard her.

"For what?" He asked, taking a pause in eating as he looked up at her. He cheeks were red and she stared pointedly at her food.

"For saving me last night. If you hadn't..." she shivered. "I'd probably still be in there."

"Sam," Gage ducked his head lower, catching her eyes so she would look up at him. "I will always be here to protect you. I'm sorry they were even able to get to you." He finished the last bit of the sentence with a growl, frowning as he thought of Derrick again, and the desperation in Sam's eyes when she had recognized Kane.

"I just..." she sighed, "I just feel like since we've met I've been some sort of damsel in distress. That's not me, that's not who I am. One of these days your going to get tired of rescuing me and I-"
Gage stood up quickly and circled the island, pulling her into his arms. She looked away from him, blinking rapidly, to keep her tears from pouring over he was sure.

"Sam you're one of the strongest people I've ever met. I'll never think of you as a damsel in distress," he said mockingly, grinning to try to ease her worries. She looked at him finally and he used his thumb to brush away the one tear that had managed to escape. "Besides, you're stuck with me now, I couldn't get tired of you if I tried." He ran his fingers over the mark on her neck that matched his own. She bit her lip, trying to hold back a small smile and he grinned broadly now. His armed snaked around her back and he pulled her against him roughly, eliciting a small gasp from her that made him growl in the most pleasurable way. Tipping her chin up, he crashed his lips against hers, moaning lightly when she immediately returned his fervor. He walked a few steps forward and pushed her against the refrigerator, before hoisting her up and wrapping her legs around his waist. Breakfast forgotten, his lips travelled down her throat, and he grew hard as she muttered his name. His tongue ran across her mark and she let out a gasp, grinding her hips against his. He growled low in his throat and ran his fingers under the hem of her shorts.

"Hellooooo!" Ian's voice sang as he walked through the sliding glass door at the back of the kitchen.

Gage snarled angrily and Ian froze as he looked at the two of them, his mouth making a small "o" shape while Sam's face reddened. Gage unwrapped her legs from around himself, placing her down before he turned to glare at his beta.

"You need to learn to knock." Gage growled angrily.

Ian's put his hands up in front of him, showing his innocence. "My bad, my bad, force of habit. You've been mateless for how many years? It's gonna take me some time to get used to- hey!" His eyes focused on Sam, who was adjusting her shirt awkwardly. The neckline had slipped and shown off the colorful bruise marring the skin around her mark.

"Congratulations you guys!" He said cheerfully, looking between the two of them. He looked at Gage's neck pointedly and Gage sighed, pulling his shirt aside so Ian could see his mark as well.

"Nice! Now we all match!" He said, pulling his button up flannel aside to show off a mark similar to theirs. Gage gaped at it.

"Anna marked you?!" He asked in disbelief. Ian smiled widely and nodded his head. "But- she's human!"

"Yea, it hurt like a son of a bitch. You know, dull canines and all." Ian laughed with a shrug of his shoulders. "But she wanted to, so I let her. I'll let that woman do anything she wants to me." He said dreamily. Sam barked out a laugh and they both turned to look at her.

"Don't tell Anna that," she giggled. "She's always said she wants to try pegging." Her shoulders were shaking with laughter and Gage couldn't help joining her with a loud laugh of his own as Ian's face went pale.

Eventually, after laughing at Ian's expense for a few more moments, they settled down and went back to eating their breakfast. Ian picked at the bacon, a bit more quiet now then he had been when he first walked in.

"Serves him right." Kane muttered, making Gage grin.

They were done eating and Gage was putting the dishes away as Sam cleaned up the countertop.

"So did you tell her yet?" Ian asked through his mouth full of bacon. Sam's head snapped up and she looked between the two of them.

"Tell me what?" She said quickly. Gage grinned and resumed washing the dishes.

"Nah," He said, glancing at Ian. "Figured I'd keep it a surprise."

He didn't even need to look at him to know Ian was grinning like the Cheshire Cat. Sam placed the last of the dishes down on the counter next to the sink and glared at Gage, putting her hand on her hip.

"Gage." She said, glaring at him as he finished up with the dishes. He turned to her and pecked her on the lips.

"Go pack a bag. About a weeks worth." He told her. Her eyes widened and she looked like she was about to argue but he cut her off. "Don't worry about packing anything fancy. We'll buy that when we're there." He turned away, fighting the urge to smile and pushed Ian towards the front door.

"Be ready in about an hour!" He called back to her, closing the door behind himself as they heard her curse.

Hey readers!

I know, I'm sorry, it's been so long. Honestly I started reading xwillowee 's stories and couldn't stop until I read all of them. For real, check her out. You won't regret it.

I also started writing a second story but I'm not quite sure how I want it to go yet. So I'm gonna play around with that and write a few chapters first before posting it.

Anyways, I really hope you guys like this chapter. I was going to make it longer but felt it would end up too long if I kept going.

Please comment and vote! Tell me what you think! I'd love to hear from you 🥰
