Gage

The sun was setting when Kane finally allowed Gage his vision back. He lifted his head from the dirt where he had been laying. Sam was tucked up against him, her body curling to fit perfectly against his. The orange glow from the setting sun illuminated her fur, highlighting the red, bronze and deep brown fibers that made up her rich brown coat. He stared at her sleeping form, a sigh of contentment running through him. She shifted at his movement, lazily peeking an eye open to look at him.

"Well that was... interesting." She said, sitting up and stretching her muscles.

"I wouldn't know, Kane wanted his privacy and blocked my senses." He replied, standing up to shake the bits of soil from his silver fur. The bite mark on his own neck from Nat stung a bit but he knew it would heal by the end of the day, marking him in his wolf form as Sam's, as he had to her. They would still need to complete the ritual in human form, which would be much less animalistic than Kane's claiming had been.

"You can do that?!" She asked incredulously. Gage nodded his head and she huffed.

"Well he'll have to enlighten us on how, because as thrilling as that was, I didn't appreciate being the third wheel, and beastiality isn't really my kink."

Gage laughed and waited for her as she stood and also shook out her fur, sending small broken twigs and bits of dirt into the air around her. They began walking back towards the pack house in a happy silence.

It wasn't until they came to the split in the road between Gage's house and the pack house that Sam spoke up.

"Will I get in trouble for what happened?" She asked hesitantly.

"No." He growled immediately. "No harm was done, there are no consequences to be given."

"Nat's never taken control like that." She said quietly. "I had no say or power in what she was doing. She's taken the wheel before but she's never locked me in."

"Well in her defense, another female has never touched your mate in front of you either." He shrugged. Sam let out a low growl at the memory. "She-wolves are extremely territorial. It's not unheard of for them to fight to the death against another challenging female. Khloe knew what she was doing. She wanted to get a rise out of you."

She stayed quiet for a moment as she thought his words over, falling back into step beside him as they turned toward the house.

"I walked in on my ex-boyfriend cheating once, the anger I felt then was nothing compared to just seeing her touch you." She growled, and Gage could feel the anger beginning to radiate off of her.

"I'll deal with Khloe," he said, pushing open the front door of the house with his muzzle, "she won't be a problem again." He shifted back to human form once the door was closed, as did she. His eyes scanned her naked body hungrily and he couldn't help as his dick grew hard at the sight of her. Her cheeks flushed red as he stalked towards her, pinning her against the foyer wall.

"Your ex-boyfriend was an idiot." He growled, burying his face into her neck to inhale the sweet smell of her. He could hear the increase in her heart rate as he rubbed against her, his now swollen dick laid against her stomach, aching to be inside of her again. "How any man could have you and want another is beyond me. But I'm glad he did it."

"What? Why?" She asked quickly, he pulled his head out of the crook of her neck and looked her in the eye.

"Because if the first time I had seen you, you were on his arm, I would have killed him on sight." Her mouth opened in surprise and he took the opportunity to crash his lips against hers.

"Sir, Khloe is here." His secretary's voice crackled over the old intercom on Gage's desk.

"Thanks Mia, send her in." He told her, signing one last document and flipping the folder closed as the sound of heels clicking across the hallways marble flooring reached his office door. The door opened and Khloe strutted in, her hips swaying exaggeratedly as she entered the room and took the seat across from his desk. The overpowering scent of her perfume burned his nostrils as she settled into the chair.

"So I guess that's a 'yes' to lunch then?" She smiled.

"No." He said bluntly, watching the smile fall from her face. "I asked you to come here because we need to talk, Khloe." He stood up from his chair and walked around his desk, leaning against it in front of her with his arms crossed over his chest. Her sly smile spread across her lips again as she hungrily gazed at his muscle-bound arms, and she shifted in the chair, pushing her chest out farther as she did so. Gage resisted rolling his eyes.

"What would you like to talk about?" She asked in a sultry voice, batting her eyelashes at him. Kane made a groaning sound and Gage couldn't help but agree, the way she was throwing herself at him was pathetic. How he had ever found her attractive in the first place, he'd never know.

"You need to respect mine and Sam's mate bond." He said. The smile once again fell from her face and she scoffed.

"Oh, come on." She said, crossing her arms in front of herself indignantly. "You barely know her. She's a rogue for crying out loud. You can't possibly feel anything for the mutt."

Anger flared through Gage's veins. He stood up straight and towered over her in the chair, forcing her to look up at him as a small glimmer of fear ran through her eyes.

"She is your future Luna and you will respect her! I am not doing this for her, I am doing this for you. Her wolf has vowed to kill you should you show her that amount of disdain again." Khloe gulped, standing from the chair.

"I mean it Khloe." He stated strongly, letting the alpha command seep into his words. "Should I see you even cast a rude remark in her direction, I'll assign you to guard duty."

Her mouth dropped open, reminding him of a fish gasping for breath. Khloe had never worked a day in her life, assigning her to guard duty would literally be throwing her to the wolves.

"My father won't allow tha-"

"Your father is not the alpha!" He boomed, causing her to shrink back. "Your father will do as I say or he will be right there next to you on the territory's border." He turned away from her, walking back behind his desk and leaned toward her, his fingertips holding his weight as he placed them on the smooth dark wood.

"You have no respect for anyone, you think your money will buy you people's adoration. It's pathetic. We are done. We have been done for months. Do not assume that you hold any place in my heart, for it belongs to Sam." He growled.

She stared at the floor, the weight of the alpha's words forcing her to show her submission to him.

"My father won't be donating that weaponry." She muttered. Her insolence caused his temper to peak. He grasped a paper weight on the desk and flung it at the wall. It shattered on impact, sending fragments of glass across the floor. She flinched and whimpered, her eyes still trained to the wood under her feet.

"I will deal with your father and you will keep your nose out of business that is above you!" He ordered. She nodded her head quickly, and he could see tears brimming in her eyes. He almost felt bad, before he thought of the disrespect she had shown his mate.

"You're dismissed. Leave." He ordered, making a shooing motion with his hand as he turned to look out the window behind his desk. He heard a small sob and the sound of high heels walking over broken glass before the door closed behind her.

He let out a sigh, he always felt guilty going into alpha mode with females. But it was necessary.

"Too much?" He asked Kane.

"Not enough." The wolf growled. Gage rolled his eyes.

"She didn't commit any crimes, I'm not going to brand her as a traitor or something, you sick bastard."

The door clicked behind him and he whirled around, fully expecting to see Khloe, blubbering about unfairness. Instead he was met with Ian, who was looking at the broken glass shards littering the floor with a raised eyebrow.

"Don't ask." Gage said, running his hand through his hair as he sat down heavily in his chair.

"Guess this explains why Khloe ran past me in the hallway crying." He smirked.

"Females." Gage muttered, rubbing his hand down his face.

"Speaking of which, have you asked Sam yet? Anna didn't even breath before she said yes." Ian took the seat that had previously been occupied by the tearful blonde, lifting one leg to rest it against Gage's desk lazily.

"Asked Sam...?" Gage looked at his beta with confusion, completely unsure of what he was supposed to have asked Sam about.

"Italy!" Ian said and Gage's mouth dropped open. He had completely forgotten about the upcoming conference in Rome.

"Oh shit."

Hey readers! This one is a bit shorter but it felt right leaving it where it was. What do we think of Gage going all alpha? We haven't really seen that side of him much. Please don't forget to comment and vote! Thank you!
