Gage

Sam's frustration was rolling off of her in waves. Gage could nearly taste it on his tongue as he watched her once again get into a fighting stance.

"Come on Sam, you've gotta focus." Jackson instructed. Sam glared at him with gritted teeth and Gage was sure that if looks could kill, Jackson would be dead ten times over.

"Tell me to focus one more time." Sam muttered under her breath. Gage pretended to rest his chin in his hand to cover the chuckle that he was sure would earn him a glare himself.

"Sorry, what was that?" Jackson asked, taking his position.

"Nothing, just go." Sam spit out, bringing her fists up in front of her face. Jackson advanced on her and they quickly began sparring once again.

"Can someone explain to me why he's pushing her so hard?" Anna asked from where they sat, watching the two grapple.

"Jackson is the only training instructor that we have that's seen a descendant in action." Ian explained, leaning back in his seat and crossing his arms as he watched. "Usually a descendant wouldn't need training at this young of an age but seeing as Sam's powers have been let out in full force twice already, she needs to learn how to control them now before she slips."

"Oh." Anna responded. Gage pursed his lips as he watched Sam block a jab from Jackson. Sweat was running down her face as her brow furrowed in frustration. They had been training for a week, each day she came home bruised and exhausted. The power of the descendant had yet to make another appearance and she was getting more frustrated by the day.

Even though he had complete trust in Jackson, Gage was still struggling to watch him fight with his mate. Kane growled viciously in his head as he landed a punch to her ribs and Gage held the growl back from reaching his lips.

"Nice hit!" Sarah cheered from where she sat cross legged in the grass next to Ian and Anna. Sam had just managed to connect a right hook with Jackson's jaw, causing him to stumble back for a moment before regaining his composure. She grinned cockily, bouncing on the balls of her feet. But the smile fell from her face when Jackson charged at her, quickly maneuvering to put her in a chokehold. Kane's anger bristled throughout Gage and he closed his eyes, reigning in control of the beast.

Jackson paused, holding back from cutting off Sam's airway as she growled, roughly pushing him off of her.

"Again." Jackson ordered.

"Hey Gage!" A high pitched voice called across the field. All heads turned to see Khloe making her way across the open area. Sam growled and she glared at the blonde. Gage frowned, looking between the two of them, confused, how did Sam know her? Khloe finally reached them and Jackson snapped his fingers in front of Sam's face, making her focus on him instead of the daggers her eyes had been sending at Khloe. Jackson swung at Sam, forcing her to focus on him again.

"Hey!" Khloe said as she stopped next to Gage. He kept his eyes on the pair in front of him, noticing Sam's eyes darting their way occasionally, before she was drawn back into the fight.

"Gage?" She said in a sugary sweet voice. Gage sighed, he knew that tone, she wanted something.

"What?" He asked, finally turning his gaze to her.

"I talked my father into donating that weaponry to the warriors, like we'd talked about before." She smiled. "I was hoping we could go to lunch and hash over the details." Sarah let out a loud, sarcastic laugh from behind him, earning a glare from Khloe.

"No Khloe, I'll talk to your father myself, no need for you to play middle man." He told her, gazing back at Jackson and Sam. Anger darkened Sam's features as she dodged another hit and aimed a wide right hook at Jackson.

"Ok," Khloe said, a tinge of annoyance in her voice, no doubt because she wasn't getting Gage's full attention. He felt the warmth of Khloe's hand touch him bicep, squeezing gently and he looked down at it with mild shock. "Well maybe we can just go get lunch then?"

"Sam! Sam!" Jackson's yell broke through the silence of the field, accompanied by the sound of ripping fabric and bones cracking.

Khloe was thrown backwards as Sam's dark wolf collided with her, standing between her and Gage as a growl rumbled through her chest.

"Well, shit." Ian said, pulling Anna up with him as he and Sarah stood cautiously. He placed Anna behind him protectively as he stood tense, watching the situation.

"What's going on?" Anna asked, her eyes wide as she watched her best friend, snarling and growling towards Khloe.

"Another female just touched her mate. She-wolves can be very... territorial. The dumb bimbo knows that." Sarah said, glaring at Khloe. Ian nodded in agreement.

"Sam..." Gage said gently, moving closer towards her. Her ear flicked back at his voice before pinning back down to her head as she growled at Khloe.

"Sam..." he tried again. She snarled at Khloe, who stood, smirking in front of her.

"That's not Sam." Anna spoke up from behind Ian. "That's Nat." Nat's golden eyes flickered toward Anna at the sound of her name before focusing back on the blonde.

"Gage, get her out of here." Jackson said. Gage nodded and placed himself between Nat and Khloe, facing Nat. Her eyes narrowed as she observed him raise his hands, blocking Khloe from view.

"Nat." He said quietly. Her ears perked up for a moment before pinning flat again.

"You heard what he said!" Khloe exclaimed behind Gage, making him clench his jaw as he continued to stare at Nat, attempting to talk to her through the mind link, she had it blocked. "Get that wild dog out of here!"

Gage's eyes grew wide as Sarah gasped. Nat's lips pulled back in a snarl and Gage did the only thing he could think of as she prepared to launch herself at Khloe. He phased, his bones shifting and tendons gliding under his skin as he quickly took on Kane's form. He collided with her mid air as she sprang at the blonde. Anna screamed as they both fell to the ground. Furious snarls left Nat's mouth as she scrambled to her feet.

"Nat!" His voice boomed through the mind link, breaking down the wall she had up. She paused, her head tilting sideways as she observed him.

"Woods. Now." He ordered, the alpha command clear in his words. She huffed angrily, standing her ground, her eyes darting between him and the smirking blonde behind him. Gage was shocked, he'd never met anyone that could resist the alpha command. He took a careful step towards her, his eyes never leaving the golden ones in front of him.

Suddenly she made a move to get around him. It was quick, but he was quicker. He seized the scruff of her neck between his jaws, pulling her backwards as she yelped in surprise and pain. She fought against him, her nails scratching at the dirt. His larger frame overpowered her, pulling her back into the tree line. Once Khloe was out of her line of sight, it seemed like the fight went out of her. She followed obediently with her head hung low as he pulled her farther into the forest.

It wasn't until they were deep in the trees, nearly at the fence line that Gage released her. She began pacing and he watched her for a few minutes until the silence only broken by her footfalls was driving him mad.

"Talk to me, please." He said. Her head snapped up and her golden eyes narrowed at him.

"She touched you." Nat growled. Her voice was so much different than Sam's, musical to his ears, even with the anger staining it. "And you protected her."

"I was protecting you." He replied, taking another step towards her. She huffed and resumed her pacing. "You think you could have just attacked her and there would be no consequences? It's against pack law to attack another wolf." She growled again.

"I have protected Sam for years when she was alone and had no other pack members to defend her." She stated. Guilt leeched through Gage's mind as he thought of what they must have been through for all of those years alone.

"Nat-"

"No." Nat interrupted him. "That girl has disrespected Sam three times now. I won't let it happen again. Fix it, or I will."

Gage didn't know what to say so he simply nodded his head.

"You're mine." She stated, and Gage felt a chill run down his spine. Kane whimpered in wanting and he took a few steps toward her. He could feel the aura of her power radiating off of her as he nuzzled his nose into her fur, the silver of his coat contrasting brightly against her dark fur. He inhaled her scent deeply and groaned. She purred at his touch and Kane pushed forward in his mind, sending Gage's consciousness to the back. He watched as the two began nuzzling each other, feeling Kane's excitement as if it was his own. Nat whined and the scent of her arousal flooded his senses, she lowered her body to the ground, submitting herself to him.

Kane groaned lowly, before suddenly lunging forward, sinking his teeth into her neck.

Gage gasped, unsure of how Nat would react to being marked without warning. His worries dissipated however, as Nat let out a low whine before rubbing herself against him with an urgent need. The smell of her arousal was overwhelming and suddenly everything went dark. Kane had blocked him out, keeping this moment private between the two of them. Gage smirked and settled in, unsure of how long this was going to take.

"You sly dog." He muttered.

Hey readers! I'm sorry I haven't posted in awhile. We moved recently so I was busy with that, and then I had terrible writers block. I probably rewrote this chapter 3 or 4 different times. I hope you like it! Please don't forget to review and vote!
