The Woman in White (1.3)
(Up above is Grace)
I knew the boys were talking to Amy, I was in the diner, sorting out some stuff with the CEO of my company. It used to be my dads, then when he died my mums, and now it's mine and Grace's. The guy who runs it for me used to Hunt, but he got one of his legs chopped off by a vengeful spirit. I keep him safe and give him food and a place to stay, he runs my company and legally gets me the money that gets my job done. It's a good balance.
"Okay, thanks Robert. Hey, any chance Grace's home from Hunting yet?"
Grace is my girlfriend, she's a Huntress as well.
"No, but she called earlier to tell me she will be in a few hours. I think she's taking a cab so you can call her if you want."
"Thanks. I gotta go real quick, see you later!" I'd spotted Sam and Dean coming in. They sat down in the booth next to me along with two girls, one of which was Amy, according to my earlier research. The other one must be her best friend.
"Scarlett, these are Amy and Rachel. Girls, this is Scarlett, our young sister." I flashed them a smile and went along with it.
"Strange, Troy once told me he didn't have any aunts."
"Oh that's okay, he probably meant biological. I'm adopted. See the differences?" I gestured to myself and then the boys. Why they started with me as their sister I don't know, but they could've at least put some more thought into it. I mean, I look nothing like them!
"So, when did you last see or talk to Troy?" Nice going Dean, totally not suspicious. Though the girls just went along with it, thank goodness.
"The night he went... missing."
I put on a sympathetic face and let fake tears crawl into my eyes.
"I was on the phone with Troy. He was driving home. He said he would call me back, and... he never did."
"He didn't say anything strange, or out of the ordinary?" Wow the boys are blunt. I never do verbal research anyway, I usually stay hidden whilst checking out the crime scene, and do everything on my laptop. Then I solve the case and go home. End of story.
She shook her head. "No, nothing I can remember."
"I like your necklace." I spoke up, letting my voice crack in the slightest. Hey, just because I don't use it, doesn't mean I don't have talent for acting.
Amy looked down to the pentagram in a circle, and holds the pendant. "Troy gave it to me, mostly to scare my parents with all that devil stuff." She lets out a sad laugh. Sam gave a chuckle too.
"Actually, it means just the opposite. A pentagram is a protection against evil. Really powerful. I mean, if you believe in that kinda stuff."
"Okay, thank you, Unsolved Mysteries." Dean stopped Sam before anything too suspicious happened. Like their interrogation skills, for example.
"Here's the deal, ladies. The way Troy disappeared, something's not right. So if you've heard anything..."
Amy and Rachel both looked at eachother at the same time.
"What is it?"
"Well, it's just..." Rachel started. "I mean with all these guys going missing, people talk'
"What do they talk about?" The boys spoke at the same time. 'Cause that's never creepy in horror movies, please note the sarcasm.
"It's kind of this local legend. This one girl, she got murdered out on Centennial, like decades ago. Well, supposedly, she's still out there. She hitchhikes and whoever picks her up, well, they disappear forever."
The boys looked at eachother.
"Thank you so much sweeties. I just can't believe he's gone." I let the fake tears roll this time. "I'm sorry, can we go back?"
The boys looked at me weirdly, before (finally) catching on. I gave both girls a hug and as soon a we were out of sight from the diner, I straightened my posture and wiped away the tears.
"How about the library, now boys? I think we've got a woman to research about."
