When I returned back to school for our second year, we all talked about our break and I laughed as I listened to Lily talk about her break.

"Morning ladies." A voice said.

I groaned as I turned to see James and his friends.

"Hello my future wife." Sirius said cheerfully.

"Hi Remus." I said with a smirk.

"Hey Alana." He said softly.

"How was break?"

"It was good. What about you?" He asked as he set beside me.

"It's like I don't exist!"

"It was good. Got to spend the break at my uncle's told him about how you like his book and he gave me this to give to you." I said as I pulled a package out of my bag.

"What is this?" He asked as he looked it over.

"Open it up." I said with a smile.

He opened it and gasped as he saw the title.

"No way! This is the new book he has been working on! It isn't even out." He said shocked.

"And it is signed. Just so you know the part about the Zouwu is the best and so true." I said with a smile.

"Thank you! And tell him I said thank you." He said happily.

"Just don't let anyone else read it. He would kill me if his book got released early."

"I will keep it safe. You're the best."

"I'm hurt!" Sirius said shocked.

"Why?" I asked with a smirk.

"You are ignoring me. Did I do something wrong?" He asked sadly.

"No. I'm just messing with you Siri. Also your mother is a wonderful woman." I said sarcastically.

"Yea.... sorry about that. I wish I could of warned you." He said softly.

"Don't worry about it Siri. If I took offense to everything people say about me I would hate a lot of people." I said softly.

He sent me a smile and I turned to talk to Severus and Lily again. When we arrived back to Hogwarts I set beside Lily at the table and laughed as James tried to win her over again.

"One of these days he will get on that table and fall on his arse and I will bust out laughing." I whispered as I shook my head.

"I know and I can't wait." Lily said with a smile.

Soon it was Sirius' turn and I let out a groan as he did his speech.

"Alana Scamander! I promise before we graduate you will be in love with me!" He yelled cheerfully.

"Or I'll start dating Remus." I said with a smirk.

"You hurt me. You know that." He said annoyed.

I laughed as he got detention and I turned and talked to Lily. Soon it was time for class and I smiled as I made it to Potions and set beside Remus.

"So you think we will end up dating?" He asked with a smirk.

"Who knows? Maybe you will win me over with your charm and good looks." I said with a laugh.

"Don't let Sirius hear you say that. He might get jealous." He said softly.

I smiled as I shook my head and we turned to listen to Professor Slughorn. I started to write everything down and I smiled as I answered his question.

"What is one ingredient in Skele-Gro?" He asked calmly.

"Pufferfish, Scarab Beetles, and Chinese Chomping Cabbage." I said with a smile.

"Correct! And you labeled all of them. Very impressive. Ten points to Gryffindor." He said with a smile.

"Thank you sir." I said softly.

"Now I want you all to make Skele-Gro, the two people to make it first get a reward." He said happily.

"Thinking what I'm thinking?" I asked calmly.

"We work together and beat everyone else? Yea let's do it." He said with a smile.

I smiled as I started to cut the Chinese Chomping Cabbage up. I watched Remus work on the Puffer-fish and I laughed as I watched Sirius struggling from the corner of my eye. I soon got the Scarab beetles and crushed them into a powder. I put them into the caldron and stirred. After awhile it was done and I raised my hand.

"Let us see if it is right." Slughorn said with a smile.

He tested it and sent us a smile.

"You win. Twenty points to Gryffindor and for your reward you all will be getting twenty gallons a piece." He said as he handed them to us.

"Thank you sir." We said happily.

"I must say you are excellent in potions, just like your mother and brother." He said as he walked away.

I looked at the ground and slipped the gallons in my pocket. Remus sent me a worried look and I sent him a reassuring smile before I packed up and left with the others.

"I didn't know you had a brother in Hogwarts." Lily said as she and Severus walked up to me.

"I don't.... he dropped out." I said calmly.

"What happen?"

"Nothing that you need to know so just leave me alone." I said a I walked away from them.

I walked back to my room and plopped down on my bed. I pulled my knees to my chest and closed my eyes. After I calmed down I stood up and walked over to my dresser. I smiled as I pulled out my photo album and looked through it. I found the last picture I took with Thomas and I let out a sigh.

"Knock Knock, can I come in?" A voice asked.

"Yea." I said as I pulled my legs to my chest.

"Are you okay?" Lily asked as she set beside me.

"I'm sorry I snapped at you.... it's just.... my brother is a rough topic." I said sadly.

"Want to talk about it?"

"When he was sixteen.... and I was six...... we snuck out to go and see our Uncle Theseus work..... we didn't know he was going to capture a werewolf.... when we found him the werewolf had him pinned down.... Thomas distracted it.... and he got bit.... he got turned.... and since then.... he dropped out of school and pushed all of us away.... he blames me.... won't say it but he does." I said sadly.

"I'm sorry." She said as she hugged me.

I hugged her back and felt tears stream down my face as I cried into her shoulder.

"I miss him so much." I whispered.
