Twelve

The words of the song hit home for us, bringing back all the fun times and even the tough times we've had over the years. It's like each line was telling the story of our relationship, from all the laughs to all the cries. It felt like the person who wrote the song somehow knew exactly what we were feeling but couldn't say. The way the song got me in my feelings, along with how strangely it lined up with our history, made it hard for me to hold back the tears.

I ran up and hugged Rosa. I apologized for yelling at her. She apologized for bringing up a sensitive topic and slapping me. We both forgave each other and reconciled. "Can you just promise me, that you'll get rid of the doll? Based on what your aunt said, that doll is dangerous." Rosa said.
"Okay, I'll try." I agreed.

"But I want her to keep me safe..." I mumbled. Rosa saw that I was lying. After having that doll all my life, I've grown too attached to her. "I'm sorry, Lily." Rosa thought. "But if you can't get rid of that doll, I'll have to do it myself!"

Rosa's P.O.V
There's no way Lily's going to get rid of that evil doll. I'll have to do it myself, even if she'll hate me after this. When Lily was asleep, Angela, the doll, was in her arms, so I took it from her and replaced it with a pillow. I went to the backyard and was planning to throw Angela into the well. "Rosa, what are you doing?" I turned around and Theresa was behind me. "This doll...it's cursed," I yelled. "It killed people and it's messing with Lily's mind! I'm getting rid of it!

I threw it into the well and placed the wooden lid on top. "Problem solved," I exclaimed. Or at least, that's what I thought. As Theresa and I were about to enter the house again, we heard growling. The growling soon turned into roaring, and we quickly fled! After returning inside, we hurried to Lily's room. "Lily! We got rid of the doll!" I shouted. I removed the covers from Lily, only to find that she was not there! She had disappeared! All we found were papers with a message written in blood: "She belongs to me now!"

"Oh no... Angela's got Lily!" Theresa exclaimed. I was panicking! But then, I noticed a USB drive. I connected it to Lily's computer, and we came across an online video. I clicked on the play button, and it showed a recording of Lily's mother on her deathbed. "Dear Lily," she said. "If you're watching this video, it means you're the older version of yourself. The doll I gave you is cursed."
"No kidding, Sherlock..." Theresa muttered. "Tell that to my eye that's gone missing!"

Lily's mother continued, "Before Angela passed
away, she not only knew your grandmother, but also a little boy who resembled you. His name was Ace. Once a week, he used to play with Angela. On her 10th birthday, he went to Angela's house, but Ace never returned home. The police searched for him. When they eventually found him, his throat had been slit open. Days later, the police said that Angela would be taken into custody for questioning. By the time they got to the manor, the house was already in flames. Angela's parents escaped, but Angela was burned alive in there."

"We don't know what we're dealing with, but all we need to know is that we need to destroy the doll by burning it. The doll may be the conduit, but the evil will be sent back from where it came from. I don't have that much time left, but just know, that I love you. Always. Good luck." The video recording ended there.

"We might have to take matters into our own hands.." I said. "We'll be able to save Lily and get rid of the doll!"
"The real question is, where is Lily?" Theresa asked.
