Meanwhile, Josh sits in his grotto looking over a telescope that he recovered after the storm.

"And now let me see. What did Dallon call this one? Is it a ditty-whumper? A thumb-doodle? Whatever it is, Prince Tyler held it in his own strong, beautiful human hands-"

An enraged King Bill Dun bursts in.

"Josh!"

He stumps back, seeing all the human stuff.

"What is all this?!"

"Dad, they're my-"

"Human junk!"

"No treasures!"

"Did you save a human from drowning?"

"He would've died!"

"That savage brute could have killed you! And it's my job to keep you safe from harm."

"But he doesn't frighten me. He made me feel, wonderful! Besides, I am not a child anymore!"

"No? Well, you are certainly talking like one. He's a human. You're a merman!"

"It doesn't matter, you don't understand! I wish mother were here!"

King Bill Dun takes a moment to recover from the low blow.

"Josh, I miss your mother as much as you do. But I am still the king. And you are not to go to the surface ever again. Am I clear?!"

Now losing his temper, King Bill Dun takes the telescope from Josh's hand and crushes it. He then raises his trident and destroys all the other treasures in the grotto. Josh bursts into tears and falls to the ground; sobbing.

King Bill Dun starts to swim off. Ryan enters to see the destruction. King Bill Dun pauses for a moment of regret.

"I'm just trying to protect him Ryan."

"He'll be alright sire. Just give him some time."

King Bill Dun exits. Ryan gingerly approaches Josh.

"I hate him!" Josh shouts.

"Josh, don't say that-"

"And some friend you turned out to be! Spilling everything!"

"I couldn't help it! He had my claws in a clamp!"

"I don't need you! I don't need any of you! Go away!"

"But Josh-"

"I said go away!"

Ryan drops his head and leaves the grotto. Josh continues to sob.

"I don't belong here. If only I could be up here."

Dan and Phil, who have been spying as usual, slither in and approach Josh.

"Poor sssweet missunderstood child." Phil said.

"He has a very ssserious problem, hasn't he?" Dan added.

"Who will ease his woes and worries?"

"Who will help him get his man?"

Dan and Phil circle a startled Josh.

"Perhaps the sea witch can!"

"Who are-how did you-"

"She's been dying to see you!" Phil cried.

"Halsey? Help me?"

"Oh yesss, but she can't leave her lair." Dan said.

Josh weighs with fear against desire, but then he relents.

"Then take me to her!"

"Of coursse!" Dan and Phil cried.

They usher Josh into the darkness. Suddenly, Brendon appears.

"Hello? Josh? Where'd you go?"

He sees Josh swim away with Dan and Phil.

"Oh no!"

Brendon swims off in a panic.

"Ryan!"
