Later on the beach. 

"I'm sorry. There's no sign of her. She's vanished" said King Triton. "We'll keep trying." Melody try to craw to the ocean. "Sweetie no" Ariel told her and picked her up. "Oh, we've got to keep Melody away from her" she continued. "Until Morgana is found, Melody can't go in the sea." She took a breathe. "And neither would I." "But Ariel..." responded Flounder. "I'm sorry, Flounder" she told him. "But if Morgana is anything like Ursula, she'll never give up. This is the only way. Melody can't know about Merpeople or Atlantica or even you daddy" she hand back the locket to him. 

"Very well Ariel, you're right" he responded sadly. Ariel was sad about this too but she wanted to keep her daughter safe. Ariel hugged Erik. "Sebastian, you will watch over her" said King Triton. "Me? Aww!" freaked out Sebastian. 

Ariel held Melody in her arms and her and Erik walked back up the stairs to their castle. Then King Triton drop the locket in the sea. 

There was a wall that bought around the palace. 

12 years later

"Melody?" Ariel called. "Melody? Oh Carlotta, have you seen Melody?" "Not since this morning, Your majesty" she responded. Ariel went into the kitchen. "Louis, Melody's not in here, is she?" she asked. "No, your highness, but her birthday cake is" he responded. "Twelve petite candles. C'est magnifique!" Ariel walked out and left him to the cake. 

Melody POV

I decided to go swimming with the dolphin.  I got out of the water and went on the rock when I saw Scuttle and Sebastian. "Hey, Scuttle. Hey Sebastian. What's kicking?" I asked. "Uh, hat's kickin'? Hmmm. Let me see" responded Scuttle. "Don't rush me."   "Ha! You know perfectly well what's kicking" responded Sebastian. "Now, come along. You gonna be latte for the..." I jumped back into the water. The water splash on Sebastian. I giggled.  "Sorry, Sebastian" I responded. 

I swam back to the rock but stay in the water. "Melody, Child, how many times do I have to tell you?" started Sebastian. We both said "It is expressly forbidding for you to be swimming beyond the safety of the sea wall." Then I continued. "Any such swimming is a recklass disregard of the rules, don't you know." "Stop that" he responded. I giggled. "Oh Sebastian, I can't help it" I told him. "I just love the sea!" and I jump back in. "Hey! Come back here" he yelled. 

Sebastian POV

"Hey! Come back here" I called out. "You're just like your mother."  

Melody POV

I continued to collect things I see in the sea when I notice something shiny. I went down and picked it up. This is weird. I went back on the rock. 

"Melody, please If your mother ever found out you'd been swimming out here..." Sebastian said. "I know, I know. She'd flip" I responded. I jumped back into the water. I swim on my back. "Hey Sebastian, what's my mom got against the ocean anyway?" I asked. I looked at the sun setting. "I mean, how could there be anything wrong with something so wonderful?" I giggled and went back to Sebastian. "You know what? Sometimes I even pretend I have fins" I whispered. He fell down. I wish I could tell my mom how I feel but she'd never understand. I can talk to crabs but not to her. 

"Wait a minute it just hit me" realized Scuttle. "How bout you tell Ariel how you really feel." "Oh, yes, by all means. Just waltz right in and tell her you been out here swimming in the ocean" freaked out Sebastian. "We could all have a big party." Then we remembered. "The party" we gasp. "Say, that reminds me something" responded Scuttle. Me and Sebastian swam to the sea wall. We got through. I ran back to a window and I climbed in. I got back in my room and looked out my window. 

"Mother? What are you doing?" I asked curious.  "Uh, nothing" she responded. "I'll be right up." I try to put everything on as fast as I can before my mom gets up here. "Melody?" she called. I grab the ribbon and tied it around me not knowing that Sebastian was in it. When she got to my room I said "I'm ready." My crown fell off. She chuckle. "Here. Let me help you" she responded. Then dad came in. "So, we're having a bad hair day." he responded. "If we were, You wouldn't be helping, would you?" my mom responded. 

"I'm just here to let you know there are a lot of people downstairs" he responded. "We will be down, just give us two minutes" she told him. "Mom, put down the brush" I told her. "It's hopeless." "Oh you look beautiful" she told me. "Do I have to do this? Everybody thinks I'm weird" I asked.  "Oh, honey, everyone has trouble fitting in at your age" she told me. "I know I did. I was a regular fish underwater." "You? No way" I responded. 

I walked over to the balcony. "I'm just so afraid I'm gonna make a total fool of myself" I told her. "Melody, this isn't just about the party, is it?" my mom asked. She walked over to me. "Is there something you want to talk about?" she asked. She leans to me. "You know you can always tell me anything" she told me. "Well, okay" I decided. "I mean, it's kinda crazy and sort of impossible. Now don't freak" I started. "But what I dream about more than anything in the whole world..." I was interrupted by tapping on the glass. "How's it coming?" asked my dad at the balcony. "Oh Melody, is that you? You look beautiful" he responded. Mom giggled. "He's right, Now, we'll talk later" she responded. "You're going to have a wonderful time tonight. Trust me." 

At the ballroom 

"May I present Her Royal Highness Princess Melody" Gasby introduced.  I went down the stairs. I am nervous. Oh, yeah. Mom's right. I can do this. "Um, hi would you like to dance?" asked a cute boy. I looked at my parents. "Go on" my mom whispered. "Sure, okay" I responded. We watz to the music. I was having a great time but then Sebastian pinch him. He freaked out and Sebastian went up and then landed in my birthday cake. 

"Are you okay Sebastian?" I asked feeling bad. "Who is she talking to?" asked a girl. "She's talking to a crab" a boy laughed. Everyone was laughing. While everyone was laughing the chief chased after Sebastian. I was feeling embarrassed. I ran upstairs in tears. "Melody" my mom tried to called to me but I didn't listen. 

I went back to my room and went onto my bed and cried. I picked up the shiny object that I had found and looked at it. "Oh, sweetheart" came my mom. "I'm so sorry." "What's wrong with me?" I asked. "Nothing is wrong with you" she told me. "Mom, I'm the princess of disaster" I told her and cried some more. "Being a teenager is hard, and, uh, all kids your age feel awkward" she told me. As I was rubbing off the locket I notice it says my name on it. "Melody?" I asked. "What is this? My name's on here."   I open it and there was an image of a kingdom with mermaids. It played a song. "That song. Where have I heard it" I asked. "It's Atlantica. With merpeople and everything. Mother, you always said it was just an old fish tale." 

She closed it and held it. "Where did you get this?" she asked. "I, I found it" I told her. "You went over the wall, didn't you?" she asked. "Actually, I went under it. I hate that stupid wall" I told her. "Melody, you know you're not allowed in the sea" she told me. "But why?" I asked. I still don't understand. "And why does that necklace have my name on it?" I stood up not crying anymore. "Melody, listen to me" she told me. "You're hiding something from me" I responded. "You deliberately disobeyed me" she responded frustrated. "I never want you to go out there again! It's dangerous in the sea!" she yelled. 

"How would you know? You've never even been in it" I cried. I resume sobbing and grab the locket back and ran out. "Melody" she called. I went outside. "Oh, now, child, it's going to be okay" said Sebastian. "You know, when I was a teenager you couldn't get me out of my shell for nothing. I had this high, squeaky voice and these itty-bitty little pincers. And then one day, boom. I sound like Caruso and these whoppers pop out!" He noticed I was pushing the boat out. "Young lady, just where do you think you're going?" he asked. "I've gotta figure this out" I responded. I jump onto the boat. 

"This necklace means something and if no one's gonna tell me I'm gonna find out myself" I responded. Sebastian was pushed off the boat. 

Sebastian POV

"Melody, please! You're making a big mistake" I yelled. I swam back underneath the sea wall. All right, Sebastian, you must remain calm. This is not your fault. All you have to do is go in there and calmly explain that Melody has run away. No reason to lose your head. "Melody" called out Ariel. I gasped and freaked out. "Melody's gone, Melody's gone!" I yelled. "Sebastian? What are you doing here?" asked Ariel. "It's all my fault I tried to stop her. I don't deserve to live" I sob. "Gone? Gone where?" asked Ariel. "Out, out to the sea" I told her tears streaming down. 

"What do you mean? Where could she be going?" she asked. 

Meanwhile back with Melody

"Hey I can help you" responded a shark. I explained to him about the locket. "I can take you to Morgana's" he told me. "And she can tell me what this locket means?" I asked. "Why is my name on it?" The shark chuckled. "Oh, sure, kid" he responded. "Morgana's the best. She'll help ya." "Okay. Then let's go" I decided. The shark pulled my boat with him. I'm excited but nervous about finding out the truth. I was also a little sad because I left home to do this. 

When we got into a ice cave the shark said "Angel face, meet the one and only Morgana."  "Oh, welcome, my precious" responded Morgana. "Oh, don't be shy." I got out of the boat and she took my arm. "Come in. Come in out of the cold" she said. Then she told me to sit and put my feet up. "Hungry? Afraid all I have is a cold plate" she offered. She showed me it and asked "Smelt cicle? Kelp chip?" Then hit it with a fish and asked "Hush gubby?" "Uh, no, thank you" I told her. 

"I was hoping you could tell me about this pendent" I asked taking it off. "Why is my name on it? My mother wouldn't tell me" I sigh. "She just doesn't understand." Morgana wrapped herself around me. "Oh, you're not the only one with a mother who doesn't understand you" she told me. "Believe me, I know just how you feel." That made me feel a little better knowing I'm not the only one. She continued "Dear Child, did you ever consider that it has your name on it because it has your destiny in it?" She open it. 

"Oh, deep down you know you weren't meant to be a lowly human" she told me. "What you are is something far more enchanting." "A mermaid?" I asked in amazed. "But it's not possible" I try not to believe in it. Mermaids aren't real. Are they? Morgana chuckles. "Darling, anything's possible" she told me. "You can turned me into a mermaid?" I asked. "I sure can" she told me and look through her potions. She found a bottle with Ursula's face on it. 

"Ursula's magic? Where'd you get that?" the shark asked. "I've been saving it for a special occasion" Morgana told him. She went back to me and chuckled. "One drop of this and bada bing, bada boom! You're in fin city" she told me opening the bottle. "Really?" I asked. "Come, my darling" she told me. She gave me her foot and I pour a drop. "Your destiny awaits you" She told me. 

I transform into a Mermaid. 

"I don't believe it" I responded. "I'm a mermaid." "Say it loud, say it proud" yelled Morgana. I swam around and then jump up and yelled "I'm a mermaid!" I swam away. What a totally cool feeling. Swimming freeing makes me happy.  

Ariel POV 

I had decided to search in the sea with daddy so I said bye to Erik and had my father to turn me back into a mermaid.
