"That punk!" I quietly exclaimed, whatever happened to young men treating ladies with respect. I just had to contain my anger and be mature and have Zoe deal with him herself, he was now under Zoe's lead, and he'd hopefully learn that Zoe would be the one calling the shots. Almost as if they were on cue Nat, Clint, and Tony walked out of the meeting room and into the hallway. "So Zoe do you know who'd be best with who's job?" Clint asked Zoe
"Well Lace claims she's good at math so one would logically think she'd be good at calculating, and Toby says he's a good actor so one would think Lace should takeover your job, and Nat's a spy so Toby being the actor he claims to be should probably takeover her job."
"Seems legit." A boy who I presumed was Toby said poking his head out of the room
"Toby back in there, we'll all join join you three in a sec." Nat said
"Aye-aye not captain." He replied sliding his head back into the room.
Zoe snickered, as she did that all I could think was "please tell me she's not falling for him, she just became my daughter I don't want to lose her to a love life yet"
"We'll meet you three in there in a second." I said as Clint gave me a salute as a joke.
"Please tell me you don't like him?" I said putting my face in my hands only to remove them to see Zoe giving me a face that basically said 'are you kidding me'
"Why would you think that? Because I snicker at a little joke, do I seem to be the kind of girl to just fall in love with someone after knowing them for an hour, I mean seriously."
"N-no I just still have troubles knowing how a girl likes someone, but still you may not be my biological kid but you're still my kid and I'm not going to get as much time with you as most parents would with kids, I didn't even get to see you grow up, I didn't want that time lost to you falling for someone."
Zoe looked up at me with a smirk "we better join them, we don't want it to seem like we bailed." She said walking into the room. It then hit me, her parents died before kids usually get out of the cooties stage and she told me most of her adoptive parents didn't even care about her, I was probably the first one who didn't want her to fall in love just yet, and wanted her to stay my not so little child.
Zoe seemed to be sitting as far away as she could from the blonde haired boy who I now could tell by the process of elimination was Brandon.
"Would you like to do your little pep talk cap?" Tony asked as I gave an approving nod.
"Well you kids probably know this by now but you were adopted by avengers although a part of the reason you were adopted was to start a second generation of avengers we all are going to try to be the best parents we can possibly be, help with homework, help you when you get low and need someone to talk to, cook for you-"
"Knowing you I'm doing all the cooking, unless your fiancée knows how to cook." Zoe cut me off as I gave her a kind of a stern look, knowing Natasha would get all excited in..... Three, two, one...

"STEVE! You're engaged it's Sharon isn't it! Oh I'm so happy for you when's the wedding!"
"Man you'll kick out of spy mode faster than it takes me to kill someone with an arrow."
"Well excuse me for being happy about our friend who is recently engaged. When, where and how!" Natasha asked

I kind of just stood their paralyzed with all the questions.
"Nat you broke him." Clint told her
"No, no it's fine I proposed last night, in her apartment with Bucky and Zoe in the room, and it was just the traditional way..." I trailed off
"Ok if we keep talking about his engagement I'm going to throw up!" Brandon groaned
"Hey! Be polite!" Tony said while elbowing his son in the ribs
"Stark, you'd be the last person in my mind on telling someone to be polite." I said sarcastically
"Yeah well I can be polite if I want to, but my parents are dead so who's gonna make me?"
"Pepper?" Nat replied
"Fair argument there but seriously, though I'm pretty sure everyone in this room has dead parents."
"We're not sure about ours." Lace said
"My birth parents are still in jail..."
"Jeez I'm the only one in the group so far with dead parents." Zoe said
"If we could get back on topic, we kind of went off the rails there, just because we're now your parents, you're all avengers now and you will be training at any given chance, Toby, you'll learn to fight while being unseen and seen, Lace, you'll learn to be able to kill a target without even looking at them, your dad will be the best capable to teach you that, Brandon I don't know just do what ever the hell your dad does, and Zoe you'll need to do a lot of training with hand to hand combat and to control your strength with the serum, yes it's an advantage but remember the serum amplifies what's good and what's bad, if you keep being good then you should be fine but if anything bad gets in your mind then you have to get rid of it as fast as possible we don't need that taking over your heart and your mind. Now regarding code names we figured you all should pick out your own hero names, however it should have a similarity with your job."
"Can we call Brandon tin can?"
"Well if I'm tin can then you are still lab rat."
