Ayame laid in the sun, sprawled out on a rock.
"Ahh.... This is the life." She smiled, the sun beamed down upon her face. She almost couldn't hear the voice yelling at her.

"Ayame! Ayame! I know you can hear me! Get up right now or I'll make you get up!" The voice echoed within her mind.

"Stop yelling at me!" Ayame opened her eyes and stared up at the blue mermaid Aquarius.

Aquarius growled and raised her urn up, readying herself to send a wave of water towards Ayame.

Ayame stood up and continued to stare into Aquarius' eyes, as if challenging her.

Aquarius growled. "I'll wash you away!" She sent a large wave of water hurtling towards Ayame, sending the lioness flying to who knows where....

Ayame finally stopped spinning once the water calmed down. She got up and dragged her soaked body onto the land. "Stupid mermaid." She mumbled walking over to her house. Ayame opened the door and entered, pulling herself up the stairs to change into a fresh set of clothing.

Once done, she hopped down the stairs and flopped herself onto the couch. "Aries. I'm home." She called, her voice echoing through the halls.

Aries walked over to her from within the kitchen. "I'm sorry, I was in the kitchen." She stated quietly.

"It's okay." Ayame smiled and pulled Aries on top of her. "How are you doing today?"

Aries blushed. "I'm good. How about you? And why is your hair wet?"

"I'm okay, and Aquarius gave me a shower...." Ayame looked away.

"Awe." Aries smiled. "Are you okay?" She slightly teased Ayame.

"I'm fine." Ayame looked at Aries as she wrapped her arms around Aries' waist, pulling her closer so that she could kiss her.

Aries blushed some more as she kissed Ayame back.

This seems lovely right? Like how everything seems to be a happy ending for them... well, it didn't always used to be like this. Here's why:

When Ayame was a reckless teen, she thought she could do anything. She thought she had everything. But she was wrong. The only thing she didn't have, which she really wanted, was someone to love her, someone to be hers. A man or a woman, she didn't care. She just wanted one.

Ayame wandered the spirit world aimlessly, looking for a potential mate that could suit her needs. It had to be a spirit because she preferred the spirit world over the human world. She scratched her head. "Hmm...." She mumbled, "where are the good looking spirits?!?" She wandered around a bit more until she found the one: Aries. But how was she supposed to get Aries to like her? She thought to herself.

Ayame casually walked up to Aries. Aries was talking with the twins Gemini - who were Ayame's best friends - at the moment, so it didn't seem too hard to Ayame to go over.

"Um. Excuse me." She cleared her throat.

Both Aries and Gemini turned to look at Ayame.

"Um. Can I, uh um, talk with Aries? For a moment? Please?" Ayame shook a little and then Gemini decided to leave the two alone.

"Hey Ayame, what did you want to talk to me about?" Aries smiled at the little shivering lioness.

"Um... can you come with me somewhere?" Ayame looked at Aries.

Aries smiled. "Sure."

Ayame took Aries to her special hide-out. Things from then on did not go well.

For starters, there was a miscommunication on facts, things that shouldn't happen happened, and the whole first date thing turned out horribly.

But after all was said and done, everything turned out well.

"Aries, will you be my girlfriend?" Ayame twiddled her fingers looking down at them.

Aries thought about it for a moment and then smiled. "Sure." She leaned over to Ayame and hugged her.

Ayame lit up brightly. "Really?" She hugged Aries back.

"Really!" Aries smiled.

And that is how Ayame and Aries came to be a couple.
