The sun and I are enemies once again. I really, really hate this stupid glowing ball. My eyes are burning from how intense it is today. I yawn and feel paws being shoved into my mouth, I gag and close my mouth. I look down to see a very giggly Muna.

"You're teeth are so sharp!" She giggles and licks my cheek with her small tongue.

"I know, they're great for eating cheetah cubs. " I smirk and she frowns.

"Not funny. " I chuckle and lick her causing her brothers to wake up and one in particular looks up at me with worried eyes.

"You okay Haunani?" I furrow my brows in confusion and concern for the purple spotted cub.

"Are you scared to talk to the king today?" The six year old asks slightly shivering.

"Nah the king doesn't scare me and he shouldn't scare you and do you know why?" He shakes his head side to side.

"Because you are twice the lion anyone here is. "

"But I'm a cheetah cub. I can't do anything. " He hangs his head down and I pick it back up with my snout making him look at me dead in the eyes.

"But you're a big cat, you're fierce and you have two things we don't. Speed and agility I promise you that when you're ten years older you'll be the quickest cheetah that has ever lived. You're fearless Haunani and that is what makes you a lion and a Pride Lander. " He smiles and places his forehead against mine and we stay like this for a while. Muna and Makuma then place one of their paws on Haunani making the three motherless spotted cubs look wise beyond their years.

It's been a few minutes and everyone is now awake. Stretching and yawning and greeting one another. Vitani's brilliant blue-violet eyes are not as lively as usual. It must be the talk of Kopa, I know how much he meant to her and I was so selfish that I didn't even notice I was hurting her.

I walked over to her after greeting Mheetu with a headbutt.

"Tani?" I ask and her eyes dart to me and I see her relax.

"Morning. " She smiles, though it's fake, and nuzzles into my neck. I know this is going to sound weird but I can feel her sadness it's as if it's radiating off of her and I don't like it. I don't want her to ever be anything but happy.

"You okay? You look so...down. "

"I'm fine Tanabi. " She looks away and I know she's lying.

"Don't lie Tani, if this whole Kopa thing is bothering you I'll make it stop. I don't want you to be hurt or-"

"Tanabi. All my life I've been trained to be tough, to deal with my personal issues alone and that is exactly what I'm going to do. So please don't worry. I promise I'm fine. " I don't know if I should be offended or not. I guess not?

"Alright, but if anything bothers you, you tell me okay? " She nods and once again looks away. I use my snout to push her gaze towards me.

"Say okay. " I whisper. Her mouth slightly opens and her breath hitches.

"Okay. " She says and I lick her cheek. She blushes, though she'll never admit it, and nuzzles me again.

Suddenly I hear a twig snap and I open my eyes and whip my head around to see the golden king standing tall. I inwardly groan and look back at Vitani. She nods and licks my cheek giving me permission to walk away.

"Morning. " Simba greets with a fake smile.

"Morning. Can we go now?" I rudely mumble and follow behind him as he leads me farther and farther away from my friends.

"What did you want to talk about?" I ask Simba after the long silence.

"I wanted to apologize for my horrid judgment. You're a good man, Tanabi. Twice the lion I am that's for sure. " He hangs his head in shame.

"The things you accused me of were horrible crimes and you stalked me yesterday. What makes you think a simple sorry will make up for all the shit you put me through mentally? " I spat at the king. Dear Lord I have a death wish. Yesterday with the hunter crap and today rudely speaking to the king. That's it I'm going to die.

"I guess not, but I truly am sorry. I'm just paranoid. My pride has been betrayed so many times that I thought you'd be the next one. I shouldn't have accused you of anything. I know that now, it's just, you remind me so much of Kopa..." He pauses because he chocked on his words. Oh no, please, please don't cry.

"You radiate this light, this golden light, just like Kopa and it hurt so much to think of him again. H-he was my world. He w-was my son, I loved him so much and for him to be taken from me the way he was..i-it ripped me apart. " His legs begin to wobble and he collapses to the ground crying hysterically.

Great. Now the king is crying and I have no freaking idea how to make him stop.

"Please stop crying Simba. " Well that should help. Smartass.

"Look I forgive you, and I really am sorry about Kopa. But, crying about it won't solve anything. So please stop crying. " I look into his reddish-orange eyes and I can see the pain behind them. I sigh and help the king up.

"Come on, let's go back. " He nods and follows behind me, I notice that he and I walk about the same. I also notice that he's a lot darker than I, he's a goldish-brown and I'm a golden color. But other than that we're about the same, you know except the obvious and my being taller.

I keep thinking that I could possibly be Kopa. Maybe I am. Well, I can't since they described Kopa and he's the complete opposite. He had Simba's eyes, fur color and nose. Ugh, my head hurts.

We made it back to my friends and I saw a dead zebra, well what was left of if anyways, and I realize that I haven't eaten anything. I jog over to the corpse and begin to eat at the thigh. Dear God this is amazing.

"I'll be going now..." He paused for a moment and looked at me "thank you Tanabi. " I furrowed my brows. Why the hell is he thanking me and for what?

"For what?" I ask with blood probably smeared all over my face.

"For awakening me. " He smiles and turns to nuzzle Kiara and then he leaves. I now see what his problem was, why he despised me ever so. He was still grieving over all the sudden and heart breaking losses. I can't forgive him that easily but I won't look at him as the asshole I though he was, I will look at him as a king with a broken heart.

The sun is at it's highest and it's hot as balls.

We're all panting and waiting for the pride to come.

"Tanabi, it's really hot. " I hear Makuma whine and put my oversized paw over his head.

"The sun will be covered up soon, Kuma. You'll see. " I reassure him and he smiles still under my paw. Haunani is laying next to his panting father and Muna has been under my tail flicking it every so often to give her a breeze. I chuckle at their adorableness.

"They really like you. " That raspy angelic voice came from none other than Vitani.

"I guess it's because I haven't eaten them yet. " I feel Muna stop her actions and I quickly add "kidding. " And she bites my tail. I wince and whack her with my tail earning a groan and I can't help but smirk.

"I think I see them. " Kovu says getting up and Kiara looks up at her mate with a gleam in her eye. I wonder if I ever look at Vitani like that and with one glance towards her I already know the answer.

She looks over at me and I smile. She mimicked the action, got up and lied next to me. I nuzzled into her earning a few 'ews' from the cubs and we chuckled.

God I'm whipped.

But that's okay.

Nala and the pride came a while ago and I was surprised when I saw Simba.

He was the first to tell a story.

"Kopa was always finding ways to get into trouble but at the end of the day he was a cub and he enjoyed watching the stars. He loved to hear stories about The Great Kings Of The Past, he would always say the second star to the right was Mufasa and the one next to it was Scar. " He paused and looks over at Kiara and I know she thought the same thing.

"I was telling him about The Circle Of Life and his eyes lit up. Kopa never truly understood it too well but what he knew was enough and he would try his hardest to understand it. One night we were stargazing and he asked me the same thing I asked my father, if we were going to be together always, I told him what my father told me. That one day I'll be a star and that even then I'll be watching over him along with my father and the other Great Kings. That night Kopa learned about life and how precious and fragile it was. He was wise beyond his years and I know that even in the clouds he is running around and driving my father crazy. "

Just then a gush of wind whirled around him, making his mane swirl and then it came around me and I smiled. Mufasa was the wind and Kopa was the child inside us all.

I felt my head throb and I knew a memory was coming but this time it wasn't an unbearable pain and there was no darkness there was pure light and at the end was Simba and Kopa. The cub was on top of his father and they both were staring up at the night sky.

That's when I knew, I knew that Simba had a solid reason to be grieving. His son was the sweetest child around and he was ripped from this earth when he had only just begun to walk upon it.

"Kopa wasn't a king," Simba continues "but I know that he is a star in the sky. " He chocked up and Nala leaned into him. Both of them with tears in their unique eyes.

You know that moment, that single moment where you feel infinite? That single moment when you know the darkness will not consume you any further? That is how I feel at the moment and the only way to show it to world is to roar.

And so I did.

From the very pit of my being and with all the pain, love, sorrow, and grieve a loud roar erupted from my body. I then heard Vitani and soon we were all roaring and bellowing for The Lost Prince Kopa.
