~Chapter 3~
Simba walks back and forth nervously as he was waiting for his children to return from the Outlands.
Nala seems to chuckle, at his actions as if it brought some memories of how much he was worried for Kiara's safety that he send out Timon and Pumbaa to babysit her , even on her first hunt as a young full grown lioness.
"Simba, it's going to be fine, you shouldn't have to worry about Kion and Kiara. They both have grown up." Nala said to her mate.
The former king of the Pridelands sigh at Nala of how amazing she was of being so calm about the situation.
"It's been three years since we been together as a family, Nala. I just don't want to loose them . " He said to her.
The lioness seems to understand of his concern about their children, knowing that he never had time to spend with his own father, Mufasa .
She begins to form a small smile across her face as she gently pins down Simba to the ground, just like she had done when they were cubs.
Simba chuckles at her as the nerves that he had fainted away, as the two lions muzzled at each other's warmth, as Simba knew that Nala was absolutely right, as she always does .
"Yeah, you're right, Nala." The former King said to his mate as he sat up from the pounce.
He glances at the distance , wondering of what is happening in the Outlands at this very moment.
Kion and Kovu were sitting , as Kion was eager to know about why Vitani reacted so weirdly when they were in the logged hill.
The black lion seems to be serious about how much Kion wanted to know , as he said, "Kion, are you sure you want to know the truth about the Outsiders and the Pridelanders' bitter rivalry?"
"We have plenty of time, Kovu. I'm still totally confused of why my father actually allowed the Outsiders into the Pridelands." The young lion said as the King of the Pridelands took a deep breath, considering of remembering his childhood.
"Well, it all started when Simba and Scar's final fight had finished, Simba was just became the new ruler of the Pridelands.
However, my mother , Zira, didn't really approve of the idea of him being the new King. She told Simba that I, Kovu, should be king instead.
Scar's not really my father, if you were asking. He just adopted me."
Kion's eyes were in total shock , by listening that Kovu and his uncle wasn't really related by blood.
"Well, Simba told my mother that Scar wasn't the true king, but Zira's belief of Scar was so strong, she attacked him.
Simba won , obviously, but as a result, he exiled us out of the Pridelands. "
"That explains of how we met as cubs. But I don't understand, how you met my sister?"
"Oh, yeah, that. Kiara escape from Timon and Pumbaa and she wanted to explore the Outlands on her own.
As she did, she bumped into me. "
"She did that? Man, I thought she was proud to be Queen. That's the Kiara I remember. "
"Well, Kiara didn't like anyone to prefer to be called just a princess. To that point, I was an naïve cub as Kiara and I stumbled to an alligator gallop.
We saved each other, but as we were about to get along with each other, our parents intervened.
From there, my childhood changed for good. We did meet apparently , Kion, when you and Jasiri came to see us, and you used the Roar on us.
As for me, I knew that you were good, but I wanted to help, but I can't defy mom.
When my mother discovered I wanted to be friends with her, she hatched a plan and trained me to hate Simba, and use Kiara as a bait.
The training was brutal, she constantly make go on hunts , and prove to her that I was ready to take down Simba.
Living in the Outlands, we don't have a lot of food or water to survive. I never learn about who I can be.
When I reached adolescence, it was time for me to go to the Pridelands and remeet Kiara again. She was going for her first hunt as a young lioness."
Kion was grew more interested as Kiara said, "You're telling Kion about how we united the pride?"
"Yeah, I was. I was telling him about how we met as cubs. " Kovu explained to his mate.
"Yeah, although, you were pretty reckless when we were in the alligator swamp. Dad taught me a lesson too after the incident. He told me that "We are One."
Back then, I didn't understand his meaning at all." Kiara explains.
Kion said, "For real?"
Kiara nods sheepishly, "Y-yeah. I know, it's totally embarrassing, isn't?"
The lion quickly responds , "No! It's just I'm just a bit stunned , after all. I mean, despite of being in the Lion Guard, I have to get use of surprises by now. "
"Well, Kiara did help me a lot. I'm not like how you remembered me. I was so tense because of my mother's brutal training, I never experience of having fun and be loose. "
Kiara looks at her mate, "Don't forget that Timon and Pumbaa helped you out too, you know. "
The black lion rubs his head, as Kion looks at them.
"At that point, I felt like everyone knows who I was. That everyone believes that I was exactly like Scar, like there was a hidden darkness within me."
The lion seems to be silent as he remembers the encounter of his late uncle, and has a scar, and the way that led him to leave the Pridelands.
"Kiara doesn't believe that and cheers me up. Then Rafiki showed up to us and that was when we fell in love."
Kion slips up as he fell to the ground in total shock, hearing that Rafiki helped them.
"You guys fell in love?!? How come you didn't informed me that Kovu was your mate?!?"
The lions looked at each other as Kiara said, "Well, you weren't around, Kion. Either was the Guard. "
Kion blushes, "That is sort of true. So, what happened next?"
"Well, we said goodnight to each other as lovers, even though Simba didn't know it yet. Simba never allowed me to sleep in the den either." Kovu said which Kion was skeptical of his father's actions.
"He make you sleep outside of the den? That's harsh." Kion said.
"Well, it took Simba time of gaining his trust to me. When morning came, I knew I had to tell Kiara about Zira's plot to kill Simba. I don't want to kill Simba, I wanted to protect him because I fell in love with her. Although, I wasn't sure she would believe me either if I did tell her. I nervously approach her as I was about to make my move, Simba told Kiara that he would spend his time with me.
In some way, I felt like he was a father I never had. He told me about Scar's influence in the Circle of life, how he made Simba fled the Pridelands. "
"So, he told you the truth behind your banishment, didn't he?" Kion asks.
Kovu nodded, "Yes. It was a shock for me to learn of how you got your scar too. Simba told me about it after we united the Pride. I never thought Scar was back due to the Roar. "
"It wasn't easy, but it did happen. " Kion said, thinking back.
"That's when my mother and the other Outsiders ambushed us out of nowhere. We had no where to hide. Zira said that she was proud of me, but I didn't want to get involve anymore because of Kiara.
The lionesses attacked , and I tried to help Simba as possible. They chased Simba right here, on this very spot we are now.
Nuka, my older brother tried to stop Simba from escaping. Unfortunately, he misstep his footing and the logs collapsed on him. It was a horrible sight. " Kovu said.
Kion imagined the accident as his eyes widen, finally realizing why Vitani ran away.
"Hevi Kabisa. I have to find Vitani right away. You can tell me and the rest of the Guard of how you united the Prides later."
Kiara and Kovu looked confused by the lion's sudden interest in Vitani as Kiara asks, "Was it something we said?"
