Chapter 7

Kiera closed her eyes, trying to relax under all of the pressure. She hummed softly, trying to find Liam, as he tended to be a calming figure since he was always more stressed than her.
Liam groaned softly as he began to regain consciousness. He blinked, trying to clear his vision, before realizing all of the orange, red, purple, and white sparks were real.
Fatum murmured something to the tall man next to him that sounded something like, "I have to talk to her."
Kiera rushed over to Liam, her hands warming as she instinctively transfered energy to him as Fatum and Tavia looked on disapprovingly. Sharing energy without guidance was widely looked down on except for in emergencies, which this hardly was. It was also considered an intimate process that only the closest witches completed.

Kiera, not knowing any of this, continued until Liam sighed in relief. She had given him the equivalent to a magic painkiller, and his headache was slowly fading. Kiera murmured to her friend, "What's happening?"

Before he could respond, Tavia spoke in Kiera's head, Members of the Nature Coven are here, and reacting to the fact that we found and claimed you without telling anyone. Well, not just members, Elentor Windcrest and his prized pupil Fatum Smith are here as well.

Why do they care I'm in the Fire Coven?

Because you are the 100th bearer of the line of fire, and prophets of all covens know you are destined to have either the strongest powers seen in a long time or no powers at all. And seeing the scene you created at Starbucks, I think we know how that'll go.

I swear it was all the barista's fault.

Hush, I must speak with Elentor. You and Liam are to remain by my side. Jacob is also on his way here, he prefers to fly.

Isn't he a little close to take a plane?

Not a plane, he flies.

Oh.

Yes.

Elentor cleared his throat. "Why were we not informed of this witch?"

Kiera bristled a little at him talking about her as though she wasn't there. The temperature of the room increased by roughly 5 degrees, and the everyone except Kiera and Tavia shifted uncomfortably in between their favorite forms, in order to burn energy and keep cool.

Tavia merely snapped at Kiera mentally, Stop it. Control yourself, or I will.

Sorry.

Fix the temperature.

As the temperature gradually adjusted back to what it was before, Fatum was still shifting between frog, falcon, and human, before regaining a little bit of control. His form stabilized... as a falcon. Fatum perched on Elentor's arm, still too disoriented to shift back to human. However, being powerful enough, he could still cast magick in his bird form.

Kiera blinked, watching everyone shift rapidly was making her dizzy.

Tavia cleared her throat, "She is not yet trained. I apologize for her loss of control. I was going to release an official notification to all coven leaders later today, when she learns basic training. She has already chosen our coven, though, so she is ours, Elentor."

Elentor nodded. "What are her talents?"

Tavia grimaced a little, knowing Elentor wouldn't respond well to this, but before she could speak, Kiera spoke for her. "My elements are fire and mood."

A small tornado began to form at Elentor's feet before it was put out. Fatum flapped his wings a little, trying to stay balanced on his coven leader's arm. "I see. Well, if you don't mind, Tavia, I would like to leave Fatum with your coven to watch Kiera for me."

Tavia clenched her fists before responding, "It's no problem. Although, I am going to have to ask he shifts to human form. Now." When Fatum didn't immediately begin shifting(as he was a bit stuck), Tavia released a controlled burst of magick to force him into submission. Elentor frowned, but said nothing.

Jacob arrived inside the building, next to Liam, just as Fatum shifted. He asked Tavia mentally,

Really? He's coming with us?

Yes. We do not need to fight with the nature coven.

I have bad news.

What?

The Stone Coven declared war on us, they wish to claim Kiera.

Tavia inhaled sharply, before saying, "Goodbye, Covenleader Windcrest. Be sure to come get Fatum back when you are ready."

"Of course. Is something wrong?" Elentor asked with a bit of a smirk.

"Oh, no, just a fight with Peggy and her crew."

"I see. Also, I wish to remain allies with the Fire Coven until our witch is back with us."

"Okay."

Tavia gathered together the members of her coven, choosing to teleport with Kiera and Fatum, and allowed Jacob to escort Liam. Kiera wondered who Peggy was for a moment, before deciding not to waste her energy.
