Chapter Three: Taking A Break

  Jay and Nya return to the bounty holding hands and laughing. Cole sits in his room thinking about how the hell he's going to deal with his feelings for Jay. Kai is in his & Zane's room reading a historical account with interest when Lloyd walks in and closes the door shut behind him quietly, making sure to lock it. Zane is in the kitchen cooking. Wu walks into the brig, looking at the map of Ninjago with interest.  

  Lloyd walks over to Kai with sorrowful eyes. Just before the green ninja speaks, Kai beats him to it, not putting the book down. "Go. Away. Lloyd." Kai says with venom. "But.... Kai." Lloyd starts. "I said to leave." Kai says, making sure the book conceals his face from Lloyd. "Kai... Please! Let me explain!" Lloyd begs. Kai closes his eyes behind the book, concealing his tears. "I SAID TO LEAVE!" Kai's voice booms through out the bounty. Lloyd puts his head down and turns to leave. Right when his hand lands on the nob, he gets a determined look. "NO." Lloyd says with new found confidence. He turns to look at Kai. "I won't. You need to hear me out Kai!" Lloyd demands and walks over to Kai with determination. Kai's panic becomes visible on his face, hidden behind the book. He manages to hide it in his voice though. "I don't want to speak with you." Kai says. "Well then. To bad, because I want to speak with you!" Lloyd counters. "Kai... I lo-" The green ninja is cut off. "I want to be alone." Kai says, trying to get Lloyd to leave him be. "I won't go. I won't give up. I love you Kai." Lloyd says with finality. The green ninja then walks up to Kai and tears the book from his hands, throwing it across the room & revealing Kai's tear stained face.  

  Lloyd gasps. "Kai." He says as he sits and touches Kai's face, causing the red ninja to flinch. Lloyd lowers his head in defeat as Kai cowers away from him. "I know I made a lot of mistakes Kai. I.... I never wanted to hurt you!" Lloyd lets out, squeezing his eyes closes as his own tears fall. "But.... I... I did. I... I get it if you can't trust me... Or... Or e-even h-hate me, but... I'll always love you K-Kai." Lloyd explains, sorrow & guilt written all over his face. Kai glares at him, not believing a single word. Lloyd sighs. "I'll always be waiting." Lloyd says before getting up and leaving.  

~Mean while~

Over in Cole & Jay's room, Jay enters to find Cole sound asleep with tear stains on his face. This makes Jay frown. Cole was the most annoying to him, but the black ninja was also his best friend. Not to mention, the whole team had become somewhat of a surrogate pack for him since he no longer lived with his old one.

Jay walks over to Cole's bed slowly and examines the humans face. Jay had to admit, Cole wasn't half bad, for a human. Nya wasn't either, but he had been doubting his future with the girl.

He sniffs Cole and places his ear against the males chest to see if Cole was truly asleep, and sure enough, Cole was out like a light. And if there's anything Jay knew? It was that Cole slept like a rock!

Jay then examines Cole's lips as he sits on the side of the black colored bed. Something about Cole drew Jay in. Before the young wolf even noticed, he was leaning into Cole, and now their lips were only mere inches apart. Jay felt his heart pick up pace as his eyes went wide. What was he doing?! He didn't know, he just knew it felt so right!

Jay closed the gap and kissed Cole's lips. Of course the sleeping form could not kiss back, but didn't keep some small part of the canine from wishing it could. He pulled back, wondering what came over him! He was courting NYA, not COLE! Cole wasn't even a female! What was he thinking?! Oh, how he wished he'd never done that! Jay quickly scrambled to his bed and dove under the covers, hiding his beet red face.

That next morning, Jay woke up to Cole ripping the blanket off him. "Come on! I just want to sleep!" Jay complained. Cole laughed. "Come on man, breakfast." The earth ninja said. Jay looked up and couldn't help but blush, remembering what he did the day before. Cole walked off, not noticing the blush at all.

Breakfast was awkward to say the least. Wu ate in silence, Lloyd kept giving Kai sad glances, Kai kept giving Lloyd death glares, Jay looked nervous as all get out, every time Nya tried to hold Jay's hand he would come up with some excuse to take it back, and Cole kept glancing at Jay nervously. Wu looked around at the tension at the table and sighed, realizing what he had to do.

Wu stands up after finishing his food and addresses the others. "I want you all to take a break." He says and they look at him like he has three heads. "You have all been working hard, and besides. I'd like to take a break myself." He finishes, stroking his beard. Lloyd rolls his eyes at his uncle with a chuckle.

Wu leaves the room and the others sit in silence. "I believe we should go on a vacation of sorts." Zane says. "I agree." Wu says, standing at the entrance. They all jump. They didn't even know he was back. "Take a six day vacation." Wu says before leaving again. "I think I know what we could do!" Nya says. The boys look to her. "How about the beach?" She says. "The last time I was on a beach my father got possessed by the overlord." Lloyd says in a flat tone. Nya gulps. "Exactly! This way you can have a good experience with the beach!" Nya exclaims.

Jay thinks. The beach did sound nice to him. Cole ponders. The idea of a shirtless Jay did appeal to him. Kai though it over. He knew that Nya would drag Jay with her if no one else agreed, and no way was he letting those to go alone! Zane processes the information and comes to the conclusion that It would be a good idea. Lloyd thinks over Nya's proposal. Maybe it could be nice? He did like the idea of an excuse to see shirtless Kai. The boys all agreed in unison and Nya smiled.

~Time Skip To The Beach~

Everyone takes a look. It was a personal villa that Cyrus Borg lent to them for the six days. It was six little huts put above water level on stilts. Everyone claimed a hut then went to the water front. Kai stayed well clear of the water as the others played in it, well... Except Lloyd. Lloyd stood exactly ten feet from Kai, scared to get any closer. Kai sighs. "What do you want Lloyd?" Kai asks in a cold voice. "I... Just didn't want to leave you alone. I kinda feel like the only one not forgetting your fear of water." Lloyd explains. Kai nods. "Thanks. At least one of you isn't a jerk." Kai says.

The next thing they know, Nya comes in with Jay & Cole. "That was amazing! Did you see those waves?!" Jay flips. Nya rolls her eyes playfully & Cole gives Jay a sweet smile. "Yeah, I did man. I was kinda there to." Cole says. He couldn't help but smile at Jay. How the blue ninja got so excited over the smallest things made him feel warm inside. He loved Jay, he truly did. Jay had such a fascination with everything, you'd think he grew up in the woods or under a rock.

Kai raises a brow to the trio. "You three are already coming back in?" Kai asks. They nod. Jay goes to his hut to take a shower. Nya walks over to her brother. "Tonight." She tells him at a volume only he can hear do to their proximity. "Tonight, what?" He asks her. "I'm going to leave a trail for you. Come out of your hut after dark and follow it." She says then walks off.

Later that night, Kai did as told. He opened his door and found a trail of tiki torches. As he walked along the path made out by the torches, he wondered what his sister was planning. At the end, he saw a dinner set up and Cole sitting there looking absolutely pissed. Kai raises a brow before figuring out what was going on. "Let me guess. Nya sent you here?" Kai asks. Cole nods. "She thinks I have a crush on you." Cole says. Kai shakes his head. He looks around. "She's been trying to set me up for a month now." Kai says. "Are you even into guys?" Cole asks. "Well, yeah, I'm bisexual." Kai admits before taking his seat. Cole nods. "I kinda told her I was into you so she wouldn't know who I actually like." Cole admits himself.

"Well, who do you like?" Kai asks. Cole glances around before leaning in, making sure only Kai can hear. "Jay." He says. Kai's eyes grow wide and his jaw drops. "You like.... Oh my god." Kai says. The red ninja leans in. "She would kill you if she found out!" Kai whisper yells at him. Cole nods. "I know. Hence why I didn't tell her." Cole says. Kai shakes his head. "That dude is taken." He says. "I know." Cole says as a tear falls.

"I'm trying avoid Lloyd." Kai admits. "Why?" Cole asks. "He... Did something to me that's....unforgivable." Kai says. "What did he do?" Cole asks. Kai leans into Cole's ear and whispers the answer. Cole pulls back, looking pissed. "I AM GOING TO MURDER THAT LITTLE GREEN PUNK!!!!!!!!!!!" Cole shouts in utter rage. He bangs his hand on the table so hard it not only breaks, but gets sent into the earth a good couple feet. Kai looks at the poor innocent table with wide eyes. Kai then stands up and walks around the pit to Cole. "You can't tell anyone." Kai tells him. Cole tries to calm down. "WHY?!" He asks Kai. "I... You just can't. Please, Cole." Kai pleads. Cole nods. "If that's what you wish." The black ninja gives in.

Kai smiles to Cole in gratitude. "Well, since I need to move on from a hopeless crush, and you NEED to get over what happened with.... HIM. Why don't we try this out?" Cole suggests. Kai thinks. "Why not." He says in agreement and they smile at each other.

~That Next Morning~

Cole wakes up to find himself in Kai's hut. He looks down. Kai's head is on his chest with tear stains. He remembered back to last night. They had just gone back to the Kai's hut in case Nya was watching like they both suspected. While there, Cole got Kai to open up about what happened with Lloyd. Kai had bees crying about it for hours before he finally cried himself to sleep on Cole's chest. When Cole thought about what Kai told him, all he could see was red. How could Lloyd do such a thing?!

Cole kissed Kai's forehead. Kai's eyes flutter open in that moment and he looks up at Cole. The two look at each other for a minute before Kai crawls up and looks at Cole nervously. "Can... Can I try something?" Kai asks. Cole nods. "Go ahead." Says the earth ninja. Kai nods then kisses Cole. Cole's eyes go wide for a second before giving in and kissing back. The two stay like that for a while. They kiss and hug, confess things to each other, and laugh. Both males felt a giant weight lifted off their shoulders at this.

After a while, everyone else is up and eating breakfast outside together, wondering where Kai & Cole took off to. Jay takes Nya to the side. "Nya... I... I think we need to take a break." Jay says. Nya's eyes go wide. "Why?" She asks him, hurt written all over her face. "I... I just don't feel the same as I did anymore Nya. I don't love you romantically anymore. You deserve to be with someone who does." Jay explains. Nya sniffles up her tears then walks back to her hut. Jay sits at the table with his head in his hands.

Jay now had a plan. He was now going to try his way with Cole. He didn't know why he felt he had to leave Nya for Cole, but he did. When Cole & Kai came walking to the table, holding hands & laughing, both Jay & Lloyd's hearts broke. Lloyd had to stand and leave when he felt both Kai & Cole's glares land on him. Zane was left completely confused, and Jay held back his tears.

This was going to be a long last five days.

When they sit, Cole pulls out Kai's chair for him, causing Kai to roll his eyes. Nonetheless, Kai gives Cole a kiss on the cheek in thanks. Cole brightens up at this and sits next to Kai. "Since are you two a couple?" Zane asks, looking utterly confused. "We got together last night actually." Cole answers. Zane nods. Jay, sitting across from Cole, watched the black ninja sadly.

Latter that same day, Jay runs through the trees behind the beach in his wolf form to blow off steam, Nya is still crying in her hut, Zane is in his hut reading, Lloyd is in his hut crying, and Cole is with Kai in his hut.

"I swear, your hut is nicer then mine." Kai says as he looks around. "No it's not." Cole says. "Yes it is!" Kai shouts. Cole rolls his eyes. "No, Kai, it is not." Cole argues. Kai flops on the bed. "Yes, Cole, it is." Kai counters. Cole smiles and pins Kai. "No it's not! Mine is just cleaner because I'm not a slob like some people." He says. Kai huffs. "I am not a slob!" Kai argues with a blush. Cole leans in, trying to have some fun. "Yeah, you are." Cole whispers in Kai's ear huskily. Kai shivers.

When Cole pulls back, Kai kisses him. Soon enough, the two are making out. Things heat up fast as Kai's hand finds itself tugging at Cole's shirt. Cole complies and removes his shirt as well as Kai's before they lock lips again. Next, Kai tugs against Cole's shorts as their groins press against each other. Cole complies again and removes his pants along with Kai's. Finally, Kai whispers. "Take me, please." In Cole's ear, and the earth ninja complies.

Cole slams Kai on the bed after literally tearing both their boxers off and throwing the bits of fabric to the side. Kai's legs go around Cole's waste as the earth ninja enters him slowly. Once all the way in, Cole stops, letting Kai adjust. When the fire ninja nods, letting Cole know he could move, he starts moving slowly, picking up the pace in a gradual rhythm so as not to hurt Kai. Both males moaning and kissing during the session. Soon enough, Cole grabs Kai's member and starts jerking it off. When the two males finally reach their climaxes, they collapse on the bed. Cole's cum filling Kai & Kai's cum all over their chests.

  The next day of the ninja's stay rolls around, and Jay stays inside all day. Lloyd goes out to the forest and leans against a tree. He begins to sing. "I know I've made mistakes. But don't we all? I've lived my life with regret and sorrow. Born from an evil man, a child never knowing the light. I though evil was the way, but then you showed me the truth." He remembers when he first met Kai in Jamanakai village. "I've done things I regret today. Those mistakes I made." He remembers when he opened the first serpentine tomb. "I let myself get carried away. I thought evil was the way. I thought evil was the way" he remembers releasing Pythor. "I made huge mistakes in my past! I let them hurt you, my friends! I did not know any other way back then." He remembers when Kai saved him from the volcano. "I left you to clean up my mess. I watched as you fought my battles." He remembers becoming older from the tomorrows tea. "But then I grew up. I knew better. You helped me learn the way of good. I've always loved you, always wanted you to be mine...." Lloyd remembers when Kai never gave up on him when he was possessed. "You never gave up on me. You always held me up. I promised myself That I would never turn on you." He begins to cry. "Pans then I made my biggest mistake of all! I hurt you! I put you in pain! I acted like a monster...." He falls to the ground against a tree. "I am a monster in a shell. Just waiting to hurt you again. I've hurt you to much. I promise, I won't hurt you again. I know I'm a monster who should be put down. I don't deserve to live. I don't deserve you. I'm.................. sorry." He whispers the last word and cries.  

  When Nya finally comes out, she races to Kai's hut, only to not find him there. Where was he? Cole comes out of his bathroom nude with Kai right behind him, both males drying their hair with towels. When they finish, they kiss passionately. Oh, how they loved this. 

  Zane puts down his book just in time for Wu to call him. "Yes Sensei?" Zane answers the phone. "You and the others will have to cut your break short, a new enemy has emerged and Ninjago needs you." Wu explains. Zane gets serious. "Yes Sensei." He says before hanging up and going to collect the others.   

  Soon enough, Zane has everyone lined up in front of Wu & Misako, both authorities looking at them with worry. Nya, Jay, and Lloyd all had tear stains on their faces, Kai & Cole both looked happy as all get out & like they each just had sex, and poor Zane looked nervous at all get out. "What... Happened?" Misako asks, worried. Zane speaks first. "I honestly have no idea." The poor nindroid admits. "We're dating." Cole & Kai say in unison as they take each other's hand. Wu & Misako's eyes go wide at this. "Jay dumped me." Nya admits. They then look to Jay & Lloyd, expecting their answers. "I'd rather not talk about it." They say in unison.  

  Misako shakes her head. "Never the matter. You six need to get out there and save Ninjago." She says then takes everyone to the brig.
