After Seven Years
Laxus finally broke the kiss in desperate need of air. He took a step back as the both of them panted for air.
"You . ." He began, "You can't tell me that you didn't feel that . . that force between us."
"Idiot." Jasmine panted, "It was probably just because we use the exact same magic."
"How . . How can you say that? You responded to it!"
"That-" Jasmine's cheeks burned red. "I just . . . . I just felt it . . . is all."
Laxus looked at her with a serious expression. "I'll prove it to you."
"Huh?" She gasped, caught off guard. "Prove what?"
"I'll prove that I love you, I'll prove that you're worth fighting for, I'll prove that I'll do anything for you, and I'll prove that we're meant to be. I promise you."
Jasmine opened her mouth to protest, but a loud and deafening sound ripped through the atmosphere.
"What the heck was that?" Laxus mumbled, looking off in another direction.
"Dragon."
"Huh?"
"Dragon." Jasmine repeated, "That was a dragon's roar."
"Are you serious!?" Laxus, for the first time, looked horrified.
"C'mon." Jasmine instructed, running towards camp. Laxus followed her.
The dragon's roar sounded again, but this time it was louder.
"What the heck is that noise?" Lucy asked, covering her ears.
"It's a dragon's roar!" Jasmine shouted, running in. "A dragon is coming!"
"A dragon!?" Wendy's eyes widened.
"Look!" Pantherlily pointed at the sky.
Up high in the sky was an enormous black Dragon.
"Is that anybody's dragon?" Natsu asked, looking terrified. "Please tell me it is."
"Not mine." Gajeel said.
"Not mine either." Wendy shook her head.
"What about you, Jasmine?" Natsu asked, his eyes pleading with her to say yes.
"I wish." She scoffed.
"It's coming!" Raph shouted in a panic.
The dragon flapped its wings and soared at an incredible speed down towards the island.
"Everyone, run to the ship!" Gildarts ordered.
"Wait!" Natsu insisted, "Maybe he knows about Igneel and the other dragons!"
"Are you crazy!?" Gildarts snapped. "Natsu, this . . . this dragon ain't no ally of mankind."
"He's right." Master Makarov nodded. "That black dragon is Acnologia, the Dragon King."
Suddenly, the island shook as Acnologia landed on the surface.
"No time to stand and chitchat." Gildarts grunted. "Move!"
Everyone started running in the direction of the ship.
"Wait a second," Erza thought aloud, "how did you two get so far ahead!?"
A great distance ahead of the other members was Jasmine and Rapheal.
"While you guys stopped to talk, we took off." Raph said.
"Sorry, but I'm too young to be slaughtered by a dragon." Jasmine added. "But you do you, Erza!"
"Are you implying that I wanted to be killed?" Erza growled, sounding annoyed.
"I don't think now is a good time for fighting, girls." Mira commented.
Acnologia flew up off of the island and soared overhead in the same direction the Fairy Tail mages were running.
"What's he doin'?" Gray panicked.
Then the Dragon King landed in front of Jasmine and Raph, blocking off the rest of the path.
Jasmine halted to a stop and glared at Acnologia. What do you want from us? She thought. Then the dragon raised his left claw.
"Jasmine, look out!" Wendy shouted.
Acnologia's claw came down at an alarming speed, almost in the blink of an eye.
However, before the attack was successfully carried out, a hero swooped in and saved Jasmine's life.
"Ow." Jasmine mumbled. She felt a large amount of weight on top of her. "What the-" She looked up and saw Laxus on top of her. "Laxus!" She shrieked. "What are you doing?"
"Saving your life." He said.
He . . . . He saved me? The wall built around Jasmine's heart developed a crack.
"Uh, guys?" A voice called. Jasmine felt someone moving underneath her. Then a green head poked out from under her. "You're crushing me." Raph gasped in pain.
"Sorry." Laxus muttered, standing up. He held his hand out, offering it to Jasmine. She mentally debated it in her head, but took his hand, and he helped her up.
"Aww, isn't that sweet?" Evergreen teased.
The blond blushed up to his ears. "S-Shut up, Evergreen!"
Jasmine turned her head, hiding her facial expression.
"Guys!" Natsu looked mortified as he pointed at the dragon.
"No way." Jasmine gasped.
The Dragon King was preparing to initiate a breath attack (a.k.a. a dragon's roar).
"We're doomed." Gajeel grimaced.
"N-No . . ." Jasmine stuttered, staring wide eyed at the dragon. I can't die yet! I . . . I just can't! Then, all of a sudden, she was pushed to the ground and landed on her back. "Wha-" She watched as Laxus climbed on top of her and wrap his large, muscular arms around her.
"Wha-What are you doing!?"
"I'm protecting you." He said. "Then at least you won't be affected by the blast."
"What are you doing? Stop it!"
"I told you that I'd prove it to you." Laxus whispered. "I would do anything for you."
"S-Stop . . ."
The other members tried to get as close to each other as they could before the blast hit.
Acnologia casted his breath attack and obliterated Tenroujima Island.
Nothing was left behind.
SEVEN YEARS LATER . . .
"Oh my!" A voice purred.
"Would you look at that." Another one sighed.
"They look good together." A third one confirmed.
Jasmine felt sunlight beaming on her skin which stirred her awake. But there was something with enormous weight on top of her.
Wait a minute!
Her eyes snapped open and she saw Evergreen, Bickslow, and Freed standing near her. Raph was floating next to the Fairy Mage.
She looked down and saw Laxus sprawled out on top of her, his face buried in her neck.
"What the-!" Jasmine began to panic.
"That's quite a position." Bickslow teased.
"Just keep your mouth shut and get him off of me!" Jasmine barked, a light blush on her cheeks.
But before Bickslow could move, Laxus began to squirm. "Mmm." He groaned as if he didn't want to wake up.
Growing irritated, Jasmine smacked him on the back of the head. "Get up, Laxus! Get up now!"
Laxus growled in response. "What?" He grumbled, lifting his head and rubbing the back of it.
His face was centimeters from Jasmine's, and his cheeks and ears went red.
"What in the-" He said before quickly sitting up and climbing off of her. "S-Sorry!"
Jasmine grunted in response, also sitting up.
"Hey guys," Natsu shouted from a good distance away. "over here!"
Everyone met in the center of the island and learned about exactly what happened.
The island was saved thanks to First Master Mavis' spell, but it took seven years for the spell to work.
The members of Fairy Tail who were left behind came in a ship to look for everyone, yet again since they have tried to look for everyone for that past seven years.
And that's how everyone got home.
To Fairy Tail.
A party was thrown for the members return, but midway through Gray shouted, "OH MY GOD!"
"What's the matter, darling?" Juvia asked.
"I just realized something." He said, "If seven years have passed, then our magics are seven years behind!"
It took a moment for that information to sink in before,
"HOLY CRAP!" Natsu shouted. "C'MON, HAPPY! WE'VE GOTTA GO TRAIN!"
"Seven . . . . years . . . . behind?" Raph's face paled.
"That means we're basically weak now." Jasmine muttered.
"We've gotta make up for lost time!" The two said in unison.
"Wanna come training with us?" Evergreen asked from behind Jasmine.
The Dragon Slayer looked over her shoulder at the awaiting Thunder Legion.
"U-Uh, w-well . . ." She stuttered.
"We'd love to!" Raph answered, rather quickly.
A small smile spread across Laxus' face.
Meanwhile, Jasmine pouted.
Hide it all you want to, Raph thought, but I think you're starting to fall for Laxus, Jasmine.
