Chapter 3:Ghost Girl

A/N: Please remember that all lore is from my own RPG world. It's a post by post forum. Set around the same time as The Light Within. The book is merely a preview and if you guys are interested, please let me know in the comments! Also, I requested a cover for this book so I really hope things are going to turn out for it. I'll be working on this book for awhile, and will get back to the Evil Queen and my other books, as you may know writing dramatic chapters can be quite challenging, but I have a goal for this book and my writing and I really hope that you guys follow my books and criticize my work, because I can still learn a lot of things.

And any criticism will be GREATLY APPRECIATED and I'm not going full CAPS to yell, simply emphasizing how much I'll be thankful for your time and words. :)

I'm learning more about Maroon, for the most part he was a blank slate of a character. Name was totally random, past was developed last chapter. I think that once he grows, and understands the confusing world in front of him, he'll understand why the Whitewaters are so desperate with their magic.

~~~~~~
Maroon fluttered open his eyes, he could still see the obscure blue light gleaming in the darkness. Emerald. The same glowing ghost girl who had just vistied him now.
He wondered if this was a good time. For her to show up, for him to have fainted.
"I... Fainted didn't I?" Maroon inquired, dazed and sort of... or maybe a lot of curiosity caused some gears to move around. He blushed, and with the glowing blue light, Emerald noticed it and she smiled. Her teeth that used to be missing were repaired, and the inside of her mouth was even an obscure blue, Maroon could clearly see right through the girl.
"Yes you did... But Maroon, there's something I have to tell you. Something that I couldn't say before Mr. Whitewater put you here. The City of Magician's. It's been tainted... Cursed even..." She looked down at her ghost-like tail. As it swayed and kept her floating in the air.
"You must leave, before they can find you. Jensen managed to escape the Heartwarms." Maroon wondered what Emerald was talking about, but it seemed like she couldn't stay any longer to answer any questions.
"I can't leave," he said in an astonished tone, fearful of what might happen if he managed to leave. "The door's locked, how am I supposed to get out?" He asked her. "Look under the bed, there's a metal pole... Push against the stones over here." Emerald explained as she glided towards the left side wall. Maroon followed her and held the pole with a steadied grip. Hoping that the noise won't draw anyone's attention, if there would be any noise. "You must hurry, they've already made it into the building." Emerald pleaded and we don't have much time. Jensen is trying to lure most of them away."
"AHHHHH! WHAT IN THE BLAZING-" A roar could be heard followed by Mr. Whitewaters screams. "Hurry!" Emerald encouraged and Maroon pushed some of the stones with the pole out into a small empty space in between the wooden layered wall as the exterior and the stone wall interior. It was amazing to realize that those two were working on an escape route.
A few more stones and this time Mrs.whitewaters blood curtling scream deafened the roar of the monster that killed her. "Only spirits can see them, but they're not too far from your position." Maroons eyes grew as wide as they could, sweat was dripping from his body and he needed to wedge a couple more stones.
Screeches could be heard and the frequency of their screams we're high, and it stung Maroons ears, and the neighbors around the Whitewater Manor. Maroon managed to free the last few bricks and wiggle himself into that opening, and there was a plank that was loose, he was pulling the plank away and sunlight struck through the dark room.
Emeralds spirt body was fading. "I'll be there for you when you need me. But my time is almost up, I can literally the Heartwarms away and you'll be safe-" it seemed like Emerald had much more to say, but Maroon had no time to stand around. The boy fumbled out if the house and on to the pavement. As soon as he getters himself upright, he started running. As fast as his legs could carry him. Towards the river bank, and away from this terrible city.
The last thing that he was wondering was... what did Jensen and Emerald do to trigger those monsters?
~~~~~~~

I know it's been a day since my last post, bit I really wanted to get this next chapter in. Gave the monsters a name, and gave Maroon a fairly realistic way of escape. However, will it be worth it? Even though, the Whitewaters are dead... Where will he go now?
