Trouble Stirring
(A/N: ...IT...HAS...BEEN...TOO...LONG!)
3rd Person
Herobrine sat down on his bed and took a photo out of the chest beside it. He stared at it mournfully. It was a photo of him, Steve, and their parents. Steve was grinning and Herobrine had his arm round his brothers' shoulders. He sighed and looked away. If only he hadn't been cursed, this could still be a reality. He heard a knock at the door and stood up, opening it. Emily stood in the doorway hesitantly, unsure of whether to enter or stay put. "Um, hi. We're all worried about you Hero. After the incident down by the lake, you just disappeared. A-are you ok?" Herobrine smiled gently and wrapped her in his arms. "I'm fine."
Sky's POV
Blaze stared at me wide-eyed as I finished retelling what I'd seen down by the lake in the woods. In the other corner of the cave SSundee sat with Derp. They were conversing quietly about something, exchanging worried glances every now and again. Blaze pursed her lips. "Maybe Herobrine was possessed?" I shrugged. "I think I might've saw his eyes go all dark and then they were normal again." She stared at me. "The Darkness?" I sighed. "Maybe." I looked up as Emily entered the cavern/room with Herobrine at her side. Steve had gone to the village for supplies. "Hey guys. I'm sorry for everything's that's happened." I nodded. "S'k dood, no one blames you. Everything's been really intense the last few days." I heard SSundee say. Derp stared at the ground. "I'm sorry too. I shouldn't of taken you all to The End. We should've guessed Ty would've been waiting for us." SSundee put his arm round Derp's shoulders and an old memory stirred in the depths of my mind. I couldn't grasp it though and internally shrugged it off instead. "It's ok. None of us really had any better ideas." Suddenly a screech echoed through the sky and we all raced to the entrance of the cave. I stepped out into the cool evening breeze and caught my breath as the dark sillohuette of an Enderdragon swooped across the horizon. Herobrine cursed and the girls gasped. SSundee and Derp remained silent. Perhaps it wasn't the first time they'd seen a dragon. (Apart from our recent visit to The End of course.) The great beast wheeled round, flapping it's great wings furiously and headed for the village. My eyes widened. "That's not good." Herobrine gasped. "Steve's down there!"
Steve's POV
I looked up as the dragon swooped overhead, screeching. I calmly drew my bow and notched an arrow. Before I had time to let it fly though, someone collided with my back and the arrows flew astray. I whipped round and gasped when I saw Deadlox holding me at sword point. "Well hello there Steve, wasn't expecting to see you for a while." Deadlox had looked better. He'd had a broken nose that had been messily fixed and his headphones were scratched and broken. His clothes were tattered and ripped, and in some places, you could see the skin exposed beneath. His diamond axe was strapped onto his back and still bore the marks of my brother's blood. I drew my own sword. I was better at archery, but I could engage in close combat if needed. "Deadlox. What a...ah, pleasant surprise." He brushed a dirty strand of hair out of his face and narrowed his brown eyes. "Indeed. Now tell me-" He pressed his sword point into my chest. "Where...is...Herobrine?" I gulped. "I-I don't know." Deadlox growled. He reminded me of a feral creature; more beast than man. "I don't have time for this." In one swift action he grabbed my wrist and twisted, making me cry out and drop my sword as a spasm of pain rocketed up my arm. Ty then kicked me in the chest and I fell to my knees. He smiled sadistically before holding his sword to my neck. "Let me ask again. Where. Is. Herobrine?" I gulped, narrowing my blue eyes. "Like I'd ever betray my brother to the likes of you." Deadlox shrugged. "I didn't want to have to do this, but we need to know." My eyes widened. "We?" Deadlox grinned evilly and his eyes clouded over, darkening. In a split second they were pitch black. Pupil-less and soulless. "Oh no." "That's right Steve." Ty's voice had become velvety and his tones clipped. "The Darkness is a part of me now. In return for revenge against the monster known as your brother, I gave him my body so he could walk amongst our kind and spread despair."
I snarled. "If anyone's the monster Ty, you are. All this? The destruction of the Minecraftian race...all for your imagined slights?" Ty laughed, a cold, mirthless laugh. "What I am about to achieve will no longer be imagery in my mind Steve, it will become reality." He kneeled in front of me, his dark eyes piercing my own. "Your reality." The longer I stared into his eyes, the heavier my eyelids felt. It was though he was casting me under a spell, twisting my mind to his own disgusting ambitions. Suddenly, I heard an explosive roar and an Enderdragon landed behind Ty. I stared at it, dragging my eyes away from Ty's. Instead of purple, the dragon's eyes were pure white. I smiled crookedly. Herobrine could shift into hostile mobs in Minecraft. Even enderdragons; though it took a lot of his energy and willpower not to loose himself to his host's animal desires. Ty narrowed his eyes and his hand twitched towards his axe handle. "Herobrine." His voice rasped. The dragon crouched down, it's forked tongue flicking out of its mouth and back in again. Ty stood up and turned on his heel, facing his 'nemesis.' The dragon opened its jaws and I saw the back of its maw heat up. I dived out of the way just as it unleashed a column of flame at Deadlox. Ty's eyes darkened even more and he laughed crazily as a shadow force field melted from the ground and intercepted the flames, absorbing their energy to strengthen itself even more. I got shakily to my feet and I saw the dragon's white eyes flicker to me. It nodded once. I ran. The original dragon swooped down from the sky and I scooped up my discarded arrows and bow, notching one at it. As it turned its head to me and opened its mouth, I let the arrow fly and it stuck in its throat. The dragon screeched in pain and spiralled to the ground. It crashed into the mountainside and I heard someone yell. I looked round and saw SSundee and Derp leaping onto the dragon's back while it's head flailed round, trying to dislodge the arrow inside. Derp grabbed its ears and pulled them back, making the dragon rise. I hoped they knew what they were doing.
Derp's POV
I had no idea what I was doing. I remembered Notch telling me about dragon nerves and their pressure points. If you know how, you can use them to control the beast. Somehow. SSundee drew his sword and looked down over the side, to the ground far below. "Dude, don't fall off. It's a loooooong way down." I snorted. "No shit, I so didn't notice that when I jumped onto the dragon." He rolled his eyes and I laughed, slapping the side of the dragon's neck, making its wings unfurl to their full extent. "Ready?" I asked SSundee. "No." I grinned. "Too bad." I kicked the sides of the dragon and it turned, leaping off the cliff. SSundee yelped and grabbed me for support. I smiled, a foggy memory stirring in the depths of my mind. Below us I could see Herobrine as the Enderdragon attacking Ty. Steve was helping Blaze and Sky to evacuate the villagers from the village as the fight grew more intense. I couldn't see Emily though. Suddenly, I heard SSundee shout and I looked back at Ty and Herobrine. Deadlox had someone in a headlock. Her purple hair swished violently as she tried to untangle herself from his iron grip. I narrowed my eyes and pulled one of the dragon's ears sharply to the left. The dragon twisted round and swooped down towards them. We crashed into the ground and SSundee leapt off, running towards Deadlox. I sat still, unsure of what to do. Then Ty looked up at me and I saw his eyes narrow, a fiendish grin creeping across his face. He dropped Emily and started to run towards me. The dragon Herobrine had shifted into swung its head round, it's white eyes widening as Ty crashed into me. I hit the the ground hard and my thoughts fogged over. He threw his sword away and reached for the axe on his back. I tried to draw my own sword but it was stuck under my leg. Ty held his axe above my head, then let it swing down. I rolled to the side and felt the vibration when it's diamond head bit a chunk out of the ground beside my head. Deadlox laughed maniacally before pulling it out and trying again. Suddenly, I saw a flash of blue and heard Deadlox cry out as Herobrine brutally shoved him off of me. Herobrine looked at me as I struggled to my feet, his claws retracting and unsheathing repeatedly as he contemplated what to do. Deadlox got to his feet and his eyes returned to normal, burning with hate. "You." He spat. Herobrine narrowed his white eyes. "I was hoping I would be able to live a little longer without encountering you again." SSundee appeared on the back of the Enderdragon that was thrashing around, no longer controlled. He leapt off and hit the ground beside me.
As soon as he had done so, the dragon threw back its head and roared, unfurling its wings and leaping up into the sky, answering the call of its master. Deadlox's eyes narrowed and darkened once more, The Darkness inhabiting his body. He grinned, showing too many teeth. It was creepy. "We shall meet again Herobrine, but for now..." He splayed his palm out and shards of shadow shot from it, slashing through Herobrine's skin. He yelped and fell to one knee. My vision reddened and I leapt at Ty. We hit the ground again, this time I had the upper hand though. I put my hands round his throat and he tried to draw breath. His eyes cleared and suddenly Deadlox was looking back at me, eyes full of fear. My mind jolted. What if the real Deadlox was still in there somewhere? Begging to be let out. I didn't hear SSundee's warning and was caught off guard when he swung his fist at me. By the time I'd regained focus, he had a red Ender pearl in his hand. He winked at me and threw it upwards. A few seconds later, he dissapeared, red particles surrounding the space where he'd been standing. I got up and we ran to Herobrine, helping him stand so he could heal the wounds inflicted by the shards of shadow. He looked up at us both, his white eyes full of fear. "Do you know what this means?" I shook my head. He grimaced. "It means...we're at war with The Darkness..."
