Herobrine's POV

I took my friends back through the portal into Minecraftia. We were met with an unexpected surprise. "Hello Brother!" I grinned at the sight of Steve. He had his quiver full of arrows slung over his back and his bow in hand. "Long time no see!" He grinned back at me. "I've been promoted!" "Congratulations!" Last year I'd made my peace with my two siblings, Notch and Steve. I'd also learned that keeping friends was harder than keeping grudges; but I tried my best. Steve's blue eyes trailed over us all until they came to rest on Derp, supporting a still-recovering Ssundee. "Is he ok?" I pursed my lips. "We need to talk about...Deadlox." The word tasted bitter in my mouth; tainted with the blood he had spilled for his revenge. Steve's eyes clouded with concern and apprehension. "What has he done now?" I walked past him and heard his footsteps following me into the woods, where we could speak privately.

Ssundee's POV

My side still ached from the axe's blow, and I was trying not to remember the pain. I also tried not to lean too much on Derp; I didn't want to weigh him down. I knew he was worried about me, cus he kept giving me 'the look.' The one that said, 'You're gonna be ok.' I knew I was. Sky had told me about the time Herobrine had brought Steve back from the brink of death with his powers. I'd be just fine. I hoped. Up ahead I could see Herobrine and Steve walking into the woods. God knows what they were planning for Ty. I couldn't believe that poor, twisted, deprived soul was once my best friend. Sky told me he'd kicked him out of Team Crafted after he'd driven Herobrine over the edge last year in Notch's castle. I still remembered the terror and adrenaline pumping through my veins when his claws slid out and his eyes glowed red. It was terrifying. I shook my head to clear it of these thoughts and tried to support myself on a nearby tree. I held my breath as I attempted to walk. I didn't realise just how important your stomach muscles are. I nearly fell over and Derp caught me just in time.

Sky's POV

My fist still stung from the blow I'd given Deadlox, but I comforted myself with the satisfying thought that his nose would hurt a lot more when he woke up. I saw Herobrine usher Steve into the forest and I followed them inconspicuously. I slipped through the trees and hid behind a huge oak; I felt bad spying on my friends, but I had to know what they were planning for Ty. "-lox is getting worse. I believe him to be possessed by The Darkness." Steve's eyes widened as he took in the momentum of his brother's words. "You mean, The Darkness can possess people?!" Herobrine frowned. "No, I think he can only possess one person at a time." Steve bit his lip. "So, there's still a chance?" Herobrine looked at the ground. "I-I'm not sure." Steve looked at his brother with concern in his blue eyes. "I know you think this is your fault, but The Darkness was already in existence before you and Sky went back in time." I gasped. This was OUR fault?! Herobrine's white eyes hardened. "I have to take some measure of responsibility though." Steve rolled his eyes. "You're always so serious brother-" He was cut off by Herobrine pinning him against a birch tree; hand on his throat. "We are in a war brother, I think I have a good reason to be serious." He snarled. My eyes widened as I watched Herobrine choking his brother to death. "B-B-Brother! S-Stop!" Steve spluttered. Herobrine's white eyes widened as he wrenched his hand away from Steve's throat.

He backed away as Steve curled up in the foetal position, choking and spluttering as his windpipe adjusted. I didn't dare reveal myself now; Herobrine would never trust me again after what I'd just witnessed. I silently turned round and started to slip back through the dense foliage. I froze a I felt a shiver crawl up my spine. "I see you there Sky." I yelped and sprinted out into the evening sunshine. I kept running till I reached the lake. Ssundee stared at me. "What the-" I whipped round as Herobrine skidded to a halt a few chunks away from me. "I swear Sky, I never meant to-" "I thought you were gonna kill him!" My friend's pupiless eyes filled with fear. "I-I don't know what just happened!" Ssundee staggered to his feet, trying not to put any weight on his left side. "What happened?!" I shot a terrified glance at Herobrine. "He just flipped out and started choking Steve!" Ssundee stared at Herobrine. "What?!" Herobrine stared back. "I don't know what happened! My vision went black and when it cleared Steve was suffocating!" Ssundee blinked and looked away. I gasped. "It was The Darkness! It's playing with our minds, making us turn against eachother!" Herobrine looked at me thoughtfully. "That would explain it." Ssundee randomly started humming. I stared at him. "Dood, why are you randomly humming?" He looked at me. "Is there now a rule against humming?" "No." "Good, I shall carry on then." "'You shall?' What the hell, are you in Shakespeare or something?" "God, you're touchy today." I shook my head and chuckled to myself as Ssundee carried on humming. I gazed out across the lake to where the sun was setting. "Well...what do we do now? It's obvious our original plan has failed...and The Darkness has proved to be a lot stronger than we anticipated before." Ssundee snorted. "Now who sounds like Shakespeare?" I shook my head. "I'm being serious Ssundee!" "That's a new one for you." I punched him lightly on the shoulder. He pouted. "Why'd you do dat?" I grinned. "Cus I felt like it." Ssundee stared at me, then shrugged. "Fair enough." I smiled as twilight started to descend upon us. "C'mon guys, we should head home." They all nodded and we went home...again.
