one. intro
EVANGELINE walked into the scene with a polite smile on her pale-ish lips. As she ducked under the bright yellow police tape, she made a mental note in her head of how much better it'd look in a soft pink.
"How's it look?" She asked jogging up to her partner that arrived on scene just a few minutes before her.
Fixing her official looking coat— it was her favorite coat. It did not look official looking, she just thought it was.
"You're late." He said, not glancing to the side to even look her way. Taking a sip of his coffee.
"So I'm a few minutes lat—" she began to excuse herself.
"Shut it and take a look." He said instead of even pretending to be interested in her awful, on the spot excuse.
"You know, you could at least feign some surprise or curiosity even, as to why I'm late. I have a really good reason this time, promise." She exclaimed.
He still doesn't look her way and only hands back the cup of coffee, which he had bought her earlier.
Hands wrapping around the Starbucks to-go cup. "...it's cold."
She pouts slightly.
"It was still warm when I got here ten minutes ago." He said, instead of fully addressing her lateness.
"Asshat." She grumbled under her breath before taking a sip of the cold coffee.
They stand around for awhile in case they're needed. Both Evangeline and her partner, Scott were Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs).
Whom provided immediate medical care to patients in emergency situations, often being the first responders at crime scenes.
Even in times of 'just in case.' When the possibility of an injury occurring or having occurred, is high.
Within the next ten minutes a medium sized group of people arrive. Approximately six of them.
The first man had sunglasses on and had a bit of a strut. The woman beside him had dark brunette— near black hair.
With a man that immediately started talking to one of the officers on the scene.
Then there was a blonde woman with bangs that Evangeline felt the strangest urge to talk to. She was just so inviting and warm.
One with an odd amount of posture, another with a pep in his step, a bit too excited in Evangelines opinion- for a homicide crime scene.
The last one is who really caught her eye. The odd one. The one with the pep in his step. His glasses were slightly askew while he spoke to the man with very strict posture.
The blue plastic gloves on his hands, somehow matched and accentuated his outfit, much to Evangelines surprise.
"Why don't we just ask the Emt's then?" The man with very straightened posture offered.
The man with the blue latex gloves seemed a bit put off at the recommendation but nodded. Heading over to her and her partners direction.
