Chapter 9
Valt's POV
"I challenge Lui Shirosagi!"
I remember the moment like it was yesterday. At the time I was stunned to say the least. Why would she challenge Lui? He probably didn't know she even existed.
However the look of confidence and what seemed to be anger on her face told me something.
Obviously Lui had done something to make her mad.
In the same room Free raised his eyebrow in sort of amusement.
Later we were at our secret bey stadium when I brought the topic back up.
"So what do you think Y/N's trying to pull here?" I asked.
"She's definitely getting ahead of herself, I don't think she realizes how powerful Lui really is." Free responded.
"Do you think Lui will actually battle her?"
"No way, he probably would say something like this, 'Who's Y/N?'" Free said.
That made sense, Lui has said before that he only battles people he deems worthy. Obviously to even get his attention you need to beat someone pretty good.
Just then Kris walked over to us.
"I knew you guys would be here." She said smiling.
"I mean today is our off day, I kinda want to just sleep." Free yawned.
"You can sleep after I show you this." She handed over the tablet.
Bey news was on.
"Hello, boys and girls it is Hanabi back with more Beyblade news! A new blader made a splash in the rankings by the name of Y/N! Her bey is B/N and word is she challenged Lui Shirosagi lately. At a press conference today this is what Lui had to say!"
The video then cut to some footage of Lui being asked questions.
"Lui, how do you feel about being challenged by a blader rising through the ranks?" A reporter asked.
"Who?" Lui asked confused.
"Y/N, you know the one that beat Arman Kusaba?"
"If I've told you once, I've told you a million times, I only battle bladers I deem worthy!" Lui stated.
"Then I'm going to have to show you that I'm worthy!" Someone in the crowd said.
I recognized that voice,
I looked at Free, who just shook his head. It was Y/N, and she didn't look very happy.
Lui laughed. "Just cause you beat someone as weak as Arman doesn't mean you can beat me, but thanks for giving me a good laugh. Well I'm outta here." He turned and started to walk away.
"Well then I guess Lui Shirosagi is scared..."
Oh, no. She did not just say that.
Lui turned around with an evil laugh. His hair started to flame, that's when you knew he was becoming serious.
"Fine I'll battle you only to expose you to the entire world how weak you truly are." Lui laughed before leaving.
"It'll be you that will be exposed." Y/N said confidently.
I looked at Free and it took 5 seconds to decide what to do next.
In an hour we were on a plane to Japan...
Y/N's POV
I woke up the next morning feeling refreshed. I remember the events that happened yesterday and I knew I needed to train.
So I asked the twins where the best spot was to train.
"Valt has a an old training ground, he has a tire there that he had on his back to help train his balance. There's still an old rope on the tree by the river. That's a good place to go. If not head over to the park's stadium." Nika explained before they headed off to school.
"Thanks!" I called after them.
I found the spot by the river and got down to business. I was having a little trouble with the tire. Does it go on the back or am I supposed to hold it? I wondered.
After multiple failed attempts of putting it on my back I laid on the grass. I sighed, how was I supposed to train to battle Lui when I couldn't even get the tire on my back?
"Need any help?" A voice called out.
I looked behind me, it was Valt!
I blushed from embarrassment, "S-sure," I said.
He helped me get on the tire.
"So what are you doing out here anyways?" He asked.
"T-training," I stuttered. "Toko and Nika said that this is where you spent most of your time training."
"That's true, but it's always fun training with a partner!" He grinned.
I smiled back, training with another person is always fun to do.
After a while I thought of something to ask. We were in the middle of shadow launches.
"Hey Valt." I asked.
"Yeah?"
"What stopped you from blading? I mean like with competition."
He took a moment to think. "Well I guess there was no fire in me anymore." He admitted.
"What do you mean?" I questioned.
"You ever felt really passionate about something, but after a while it goes away? That's how I feel about blading for the rankings." He said a little sadly.
I decided not to bring the subject back up for a little while because I was a little concerned for Valt. And we continued our training.
Valt's POV
After Y/N asked me why I didn't blade for tournaments anymore, I had a hard time answering.
I don't know why I just felt like I wasn't strong enough anymore.
Now I'm going to stop you right there. No, I'm not being consumed by Valtryek just like Shu and Aiger were, to be the best blader in the world.
I just didn't have the fire to continue after I lost to Aiger.
Now I'm not mad or anything, but it makes me wonder if I did win against Aiger, and what would have happened.
I tossed and turned all night playing in my head what would have happened if I beat Aiger.
Would I have met Y/N? Would I have time to mentor these new bladers?
Then again, I don't see what's wrong with me being a mentor. Look at what happened to Dante and Delta.
But looking at Y/N earlier today made me think. Y/N was striving to be the best, and let me get one thing straight, I was not going to let her beat me.
And that's when the fire burned in my heart to compete once again in the rankings. And I knew Valtyek felt the same way.
Alright after another week I have finally been able to post another chapter. Valt's going back to blading! Anyways hope you guys are ready for an epic battle in the rankings between Lui and Y/N and Valt coming back in a big way against a surprise opponent...
Until next time, see ya!
