The dens had been built hurriedly. Crystalheart had insisted on building a medicine den, which she would have to herself, and that the others would share. Brightstream had woven spiny thorn stems into the exterior of the den, while Echoheart tried to cushion the insides with feathers. The two had bickered over whether to make the dens prickly for defense or to line then with feathers. They were still bickering.

"What will we do if we are attacked by rogues? Or twolegs???? That's why I put the spines there, fish-brain!"

"Well, what if we accidentally hurt ourselves? those thorns are prickly. I think we should line them with feathers...."

Crystalheart padded over.

"Excuse me, heron-brain and rabbit-breath, why don't you make the outside thorny and the insides fluffy? Isn't that more logical?" Crystalheart snapped. Those two, arguing about a den..... She yawned groggily. She pawed her nest into a more comfortable shape, shifting the feather-lined moss, before sitting on it like a bad-tempered heron. Hawkfrost was sniffing around, and Icefrost was pawing the grass restlessly, muttering under her breath.

"What will we eat?"

Now Echoheart and Brightstream were squabbling over what to eat.

"We fish." Hawkfrost mewed, padding over. "Isn't that obvious?"

"I'd rather starve." Echoheart scoffed, sniffing haughtily. Brightstream glared at her.

"If you starve, what about this dumb prophecy? I was under the impression that we were a team." Hawkfrost simply sat down and squashed a tick with his paw.

"But I don't lnow how to fish!" Echoheart mewed desperately. Brightstream scowled.

"Do I have to catch all your fresh-kill for you? It's your problem." She padded off.

"It's not that hard you know." Hawkfrost disappeared after the RiverClan warrior. Crystalheart emerged from her den.

"I'll bet, if Icefrost can catch a fish you can." She mewed. Icefrost flashed an indignant glare at her. "It's easy, rabbit-breath! just stand there, wait for a fish, and claw it. Try a minnow." Echoheart timidly stared at her paws.

"What if I fall in?"

Crystalheart snorted. Echoheart was pretty annoying, though not quite as irritating as Foxpaw, who had, according to Rippletail when she came with supplies, earned her warrior name, Foxheart. It suits her well, She thought.
