One week has passed after that incident and I became very close to Shoto. Aizawa was mad at me first because I didn't let him pet my ears and tails when I was a cat or a cat hybrid but after Recovery Girl smacking some sense into him, he could understand how scary he might have looked.

As for the guy that did this to me. Let's say I found Nezu smiling in his office the other day and after asking him why he was smiling that weirdly, he told me the truth and that the guy was broke and living on the street after he was done with him. Though I was sure that he meant that the guy was nowhere to be found and vanished from the face of earth. That was just judging from the smile I got from him but I might also be wrong at this.

All in all, I didn't find it to be that big of a deal since I now was spending a lot more time with Shoto and he also warmed up to me. At first it was hard just having a conversation with him but now... We could speak for ages and had still things to talk about. He also started to smile more often too!

Today me, Shochan and Toshi were walking towards the classroom. It became normal to find ud three to walk around together. Not only that but I would also spend some time with Dark Shadow and Tokoyami just to give the shadow creature some attention before it would go wild.

Shochan: What do you think they have planned for us today?

Toshi: I don't know but dad was in a bad mood.

Me: He is always in a bad mood after waking up.

Toshi: Also, true.

Shochan: Hawks was yesterday rather in a good mood.

Me: Yeah. I still don't get why he is making group exercises and left me out each time just to go against me?

Toshi: He looked to be interested in your quirk.

Me: He should be careful around them though.

Shochan: They just love you and protect you.

Me: I know and I love them too!

Toshi: Come to think of it, didn't he say that he was looking forward to today?

Me: Yep.

We arrived in our classroom and went to our seat since we were just in time before the class would start. The fault for this was mine. Toshi and Shoto came over to the house I live in with Nezu and I overslept. Needless to say, that Fenrir at some point brought me to my domain thinking it would be better there in order not to be disturbed while I was sleeping. Well, he thought wrong and I only woke up 15 minutes before the class start.

This was also the reason why Fenrir was in the shadow realm and I had Kuro following me for today. I don't know what has gotten into that wolf but it was sure not a good thing letting me oversleep. It was so peaceful that I could have even slept for a much longer time if not for Abyss and Pandora to scold Fenrir for that. The loud argument woke me up and after that I quickly prepared myself for the day and met up with them.

What a great start into the day.

Once we were in our seats Aizawa came into the room like a normal person this time. Hawks was also following him.

Aizawa: Listen up, I want you all to change into your hero suit and come outside.

Hawks: As for Izuku, you are meeting up with me on the roof!

After that both of them went out of the room.

Me: Why me?

Toshi: Don't know!

Shoto: Sometimes I really want to make some chicken nuggets out of him. Why is he always targeting you Izu?

Toshi: What did you do?

Me: Better question what did I not do?

Toshi: Oh yeah... Kuro, Fenrir and Pandora went after him.

Me: Blaze was also after him before that and Abyss was the one teaching him a lesson in the first hero vs villain exam. Thankfully they all calmed down.

Shoto: Well if he does anything to you tell me and I will make sure to make some excellent frozen chicken nuggets.

Me: Will do!

Just like that we went our ways after quickly going to the dressing room and changing into our hero costume. While the others went down the stairs I went up to the rooftop. Hawks was already there waiting for me.

Hawks: Ah You are quick! That's good, good! Now let's go!

Me: Where?

Hawks: To the USJ building!

Me: Huh?

Hawks: Wait, kid don't tell me Aizawa didn't tell you anything?

Me: No. I mean that Nezu won't tell me a thing is normal since he likes to make surprises but Aizawa is just lazy.

Hawks: *Sigh* That guy really is a caterpillar!

Me: I know right!

Hawks: Well anyways! You are free to call upon one of your shadow creature to fly in the air with.

Me: Really?

Hawks: Yep. I will be with you and you have special permission from me.

Me: Ahm Thanks! Can I ask you something?

Hawks: Sure.

Me: Why are you singeling me out?

Hawks: For no reason.

Me: Aha. Look I can ask Abyss my dragon to make you spill it out.

Hawks: Is that a threat?

Me: Yes, nugget!

Hawks: Welp. I am not dealing with one of them! I know that I will lose the fight.

Me: So, you will tell me?

Hawks: You just remind me of myself. I don't want the hero commission to get a hold of you. That's why I am trying to "train" you on my own.

Me: Huh?

Hawks: You see.. I haven't told the hero commission about your full quirk only a part but they still found it out and they want you in their hands. I just... Kid I don't want you to suffer the same fate.

What he said made sense but at the same time he was not treating me like I was a random kid. He was genuinely caring for me as if I was some kind of younger brother to him. Someone like family. Someone he wanted to keep safe. That was the impression I got. I also knew his past and if he wanted to be my brother than so be it. I would for sure not be the one to tell him to stay away from me after my beloved shadow creature accepted him.

Me: I see.

I went towards the edge of the building and looked up at the sky. What I was about to do next was dangerous but it was something I felt like I needed to do.

Hawks: Izuku?!

H was looking at me as I was walking past him. Once I was on the edge of the building I turned around and looked at him.

Me: THANKS!

Just like that I let myself fall backwards. I did this once already. Back then I wanted to kill myself. This time was different though.

Me (whispering): Arashi!

I could hear Hawks panicked call.

Hawks: IZUKU!!!!

But the moment he was by the edge Arashi was already flying upwards with me on his back. Once he saw me, he immediately flew to my side.

Hawks: It was you!!!

Me: HM?

Hawks: You were the kid your dragon let me see. You did this exact thing onces, didn't you?

My eyes went wide for a moment after realizing that he knew my past even if it was a bit of it. I couldn't stand looking at the hero and began to pat my griffin while I was on his back. I needed some kind of anker in order not to remember everything. My past wasn't something that made me happy but it was my past and without it I wouldn't have met all these wonderful people or my quirk. Although I have accepted it, I still didn't like remembering it.

Me: Yeah. I wasn't born with a quirk and at some point, all I wanted was to be one with the darkness.

Hawks: .... I'm sorry. I -

Me: You couldn't know. If Abyss wanted to show it to you then he must have had a reason for that.

Hawks: If there is anything I can do for you or if you ever need someone to just talk to or fly around just call me.

Me: Thanks.

Hawks: Now, shall we?

Me: Sure. Wanna race?

Hawks: Against a griffin?

Me: Hm. Abyss is the fastest in the air and Pandora on land. So you might have a chance.

Arashi: HAH! That's what he can only wish for!

Hawks: I am in!

Me: You have 3 seconds head start!

Hawks: You will regret that kid.

Me: Oh will I?

I watched Hawks take off and after three seconds Arashi began chasing after him gaining speed and momentum. In the end Arashi won and we decided since we came very early to fly a bit around the town. I loved spending some time with Arashi and I could tell that the griffin was also excited about it.

Little did we know what was going on while we were late for the meet up.
