I was hesitant at first but nodded anyway.

I took the sleeping Ryan in my arms and had Austin in his carrier. Vito had to take Saffron into his arms, and he didn't look overwhelmed at the fact. We walked out the hall in silence, and when we got to the stairs, he sighed loudly.

"Pearl-" he started, but I cut him off instantly.

"You weren't there for me" I whispered, feeling the tears run down my face. He looked pained, as if he wanted to reach out, but he knew inside that he just couldn't. "
"No matter how much you don't like the fact that I got married and had kids, you don't leave the love of your life behind."

"Pearl" he started slowly, "I love you and you know that. But you couldn't expect me to be okay with all of this!"

"But I did. If I was killed, you would go into a state of major depression, right? Well, that's what happened to me, but I was also left with four kids to raise. You should have just manned up and been there for me. But you just couldn't, could you? You couldn't bear the thought of seeing my kids when they weren't yours..."

He looked down in defeat. I was full on weeping now, but i didn't care. I spun around on my feet and began the climb of the stairs. Vito followed me silently until we reached my room.

We entered it together, and put the triplets down in their own cots. We left them in their corner and moved out to near the door. I expected him to leave, but he didn't move.

"Pearl, I need a chance."

I scoffed. "Vito, you don't know how many times I thought about running back to you. And I was about to... sure, I still loved Blade probably more than you. But I could have loved you more, and then you ruined my life and couldn't be bothered to deal with the consequences."

"Pearl I thought I was helping you, I-" 

"But you weren't. And even when you realised your mistake, you weren't there for me. I don't care what excuse you come up with, you need to leave my room right now."

He nodded and left, just like that.

He left me as easily as he did the first time around.

"I've invited some of the pack around today so that we can all discuss the packs future"  I said to Jackson and Luke. they both nodded happily, clearly not bothered by the fact.

"Jack..." I started, and he looked up at me with a slight smile on his face. "Who will take the crown after me?" he sighed, patting the space on the sofa next to him. I followed his order and got comfortable.

"Petal isn't yours, so it can't really be her." I nodded. I had already guessed that It wouldn't be her and that it would be one of the triplets. 

"As they are triplets, really it is up to you. But, I don't mean to be sexist, but it should really be one of the boys". 

I was offended. 

"It's only because Saffron might have a mate out there who has a high role anyway, so she should be there for him. And besides, it's still up to you. Ryan or Austin. Although, really you should choose like now."

I raised an eyebrow at him. "Why would I have to choose now? They are only a few months old"

"The one who will become King will have to go through Alpha King training. And if you have another role for your other son, they will have to go through specialist training too."

I just nodded taking all the information in. It seemed so young, to start training from being a baby; but I guessed that I just wasn't used to the life of royalty. 

I walked off to go and find Zach. He would have Petal with him, and I wanted to get her ready to meet the pack. Lots of them would play a big part in her future, and I wanted her to feel nice. 

The dress that I was wearing was short, with no sleeves, and the colour blue. I wanted Petal to wear the exact same one, but in pink. 

As I went around a corner, however, I bumped into someone;

As I fell back, their hand caught mine. I opened my eyes to see it was none other than Prince Chase. "Hello, your majesty" he joked, a surprised look on his face.

I instantly brushed my self off and smiled back. "Hello, Chase. How are you this morning?" 

"Fine, just looking for my mate. But hey, I guess I already found her." I rolled my eyes at him. He sensed my discomfort and ran a hand through his hair. "So, I was wondering if you were up to anything today?"

"Um, yes actually. I have lots of people from my old pack coming over to see my brother and children. Why?"

"I was wondering if you wanted to hang out, but your busy so..."

I sighed and took his hand back in mine. His eyes widened slightly, and I smiled wider. "Chase, I didn't say no. Why don't you come to the get-together today? I need some mental support."

He looked stunned. Like, actually petrified.

"But I thought that you didn't like me?"

"Chase, I didn't. But I can see that you are making a conscious effort to be nice. So, you do have a shot. Now go get changed, I told them to dress nicely." 

He grinned and responded with "I always look nice"

Cocky as usual.

"Are you sure I look okay? I want them to like me..."

Chase was currently complaining like a little girl. I sighed and told him that he looked fine for about the hundredth time. He just nodded and sat back down on one of the chairs. 

To be perfectly honest with you, I was also quite nervous. I hadn't seen them since Blades funeral, all I knew was that Johnson was watching the pack whilst I wasn' there. I was supposed to be their Luna and I failed them.

It was then that I heard a knock at the door. I opened it to see Mary. "Pearl, their here. Shall I let them through?" I nodded, getting Chase to stand up next to me and Petal.

We stood there for a minute before I saw Katie's familiar face. We instantly ran to each and formed a hug. 

"Oh Pearl, I missed you so much! How are you coping?" I laughed lightly at her worry. She was acting so much like a mother when she was only seven years older than me.

"I'm fine." I said, as I went in to hug John as well. He was holding baby Harry so it was a bit awkward, but we coped.

After those two, in followed Xavier, Aiden, Alex and Doctor Reynolds.

"This is my daughter Petal," I said, letting them all coo over her for the time being. I sighed and turned to Chase. I expected him to be watching the pack, but instead, I found his eyes on me. 

"You okay?" I asked him, to which  he just nodded. 
"Perfect"

All of us adults sat down, whilst my babies and Harry were left to play on the floor. "Petal, why don't you go show Xavier your room?" They both nodded and ran off giggling.

They were both so cute.

"Right then, so the issue of Alpha and Luna" I started. Johnson shuffled in his place, clearly tense.

"Johnson, you are no longer Beta"

Everyone began screamig at me for this, but I just looked straight ahead. "I want you to be Alpha, with your lovely wife as Luna. You knwo the pack better than anyone and I know that Blade would have wanted it that way."

They were all silent for a moment, before Johnson smiled. "Gladly"

I had known for some time that I was going to give the position over to John and Katie. They were already second, and I knew that the whole pack adored them. I wouldn't have been able to choose anyone better.

"Alex and Aiden".

They both straightened their backs instantly, like two naughty children who had just been caught in the act. "I want you to share the role of Beta. I trust you can take it over?" 

Their eyes went wide. "Uh, yeah, sure..... we're not very experienced though and-"

"But you are both great fighters. I would trust my life in your hands, and I expect you to take it seriously. I know for a fact that you two can be trouble makers"

They just stayed quiet after that, clearly wordless. I changed my view line over to Doctor Reynolds. "Doctor, if you could do anything with your life right now, what would it be?"

She looked stunned for a second before stuttering out an answer. "I would want to go to medical school. I-I only got soem training off my father, but n-never anything serious"

I nodded my head. "Very well. You'll need to pack up your stuff. We'll have you enrolled in medical school within the day"

She smiled widely, before rushing out the door, no wonder off to call her parents to tell them the news. Katie and John got up to go and play with the babies, and Aiden and Alex went over to the tv. I turned to Chase.

"I did the right thing, letting go of the pack, didn't I?"

He sighed and nodded. "I think you are gonna be just fine without them" he said, taking his hand in mine. I looked down at the gesture and smiled.

I think I was.

It wasn't the most exciting chapter ever, but I have something big for the next chapter.... something life-changing
