Starting Over
"Serena! Hurry up before your late on your first day!". My mom screams. "I'm sure I'll be fine. Besides, it's just Sophomore year.". I reply back taking my time down the stairs. My mom makes a serious look at me telling me that if I don't hurry up this instant I'll regret it. So, I run down the rest of the stairs and make my way outside to the car."Thank you." my mom says with a warming smile. As she says this, we are now on our way to my new highschool, Margarey High School. The most exclusive highschool in Rosamary Town. My mom thought that me going to a new high school would give me a chance to start over and meet new, better friends. Since last year.... Let's just say, it wasn't my year. I was socially awkward and didn't have many friends, if I remember correctly, I didn't have any at all. On top of that, I didn't really care about how I looked. My appearance wasn't all that important to me. All I cared about was showing up so I can learn. I mean, that's aha school really is about. Compared to every other, basic, girl at my old school, I looked like a half eaten piece of caramel candy that's been wrapped in garbage and sewage. Long story short, I looked ugly compared to the models at my old school. And its going be the same thing again this year. I brushed my hair down to my shoulders and brushed my bangs to the side. My mom picked out my outfit, so I had to wear whatever she picked out for me, which is a black crop top with high waisted glistening baby blue jeans. My mom thought that outfit she got for me was the latest craze or hip. My mom acts like she's like 40 or 50 when in reality she's 33. But I have to give her props... I kinda like this outfit. We finally arrive at the high school and already I see sluts all around the school. I let out a sigh in disguise. "what's wrong sweetie?" my mom asks. "nothing." I reply back shortly. "It'll be ok hun." she says then kisses my forehead. "Ok, I'll see you after school honey." She says while unlocking my door. "Ok." I say while I step out the car. "Bye honey! Have a good day! Make lots of friends! And maybe a cute new boy!". She screams while waving. I nod and close the car door. As I walk up the steps of the high school, I am suddenly bombarded by a crowd of people. Ugh. Too many people. Too many bodies. Sweaty, dirty, smelly bodies. Have I ever mentioned that I was also clasterphobic? Yeah, well that happens when you grow up without a real mom or dad... As I try and make my way through the wave of people I am constantly pushed and shoved by random people. As I think of a way to get free from this never ending crowd of people, I think about where my first class is. Shit. What is my first class? I suddenly remember I left my schedule on my table in my room. Wow, great. Way to go Serena. Way to fuck up things on the first day of Sophomore year. I glance over at a bulletin board by a bright orange poster. Maybe I'll find where my first class is. I stealthily make my way toward the bulletin board and see that it is labeled new students. It has all the classes and times for any new student here. I quickly try and find my name which is labeled Serena Arybic. I never really understood why my parents I live with now have such a weird and uncommon last name like that. I look up my first class which is history 2-3 in room 1102.I quickly take a photo of my schedule and turn around and start walking to my first class.
When I quickly turn around I suddenly bump into a guy and knock my phone out of my hand and it falls hard on the ground. "Oh! I am so sorry! I-" I say as I get cut off. "Chill, it's coo. Don't sweat it pretty girl. Here, let me get this for you.." he says as he picks up my phone and hands it to me. I stare shocked at him as he does this. "Here." he says. "Thank, you." I say as my response lingers. "Oh! It's looks like we have first hour together. Let me walk with you." he says."Uh... Sure! Great." I respond awkwardly. He smiles at me then leads me to our first period. "Damn, there's too much people at this God damn school.." he tells me as he tries to push and shove his way to our class. I giggle a little as he says that. He looks back at me and smirks. "Why are you laughing?" he kiddingly asks. "I don't know. I just thought what you said was funny." I reply with a slight smile. He smiles at me brightly and grabs my hand firmly pulling me through the crowd of people, finally reaching our class. I blush a bit when he does but try hiding it when he looks back at me. "We're here." he says still holding on to my hand. "Uh.....th-thanks again for walking me to our class..." I say as my gaze at him continuously gets interrupted by his hand still firmly grasped on mine. "No problem babygirl. The bell suddenly rings and we make our way into the medium sized class room, his hand pulls me in with him and a wave of glances and stares aim toward us." Who's this chick, Trey?! "A random girl says from behind us." She's new Desia." Trey says while letting go of my hand giving me the chance to find a seat toward the back of the class.
