Code Panic

Yea so it's been awhile... uhh sorry bout that.

It was supposed to be a good day.

Tony hadn't had very many bad days since Peter moved in, and when they happened they weren't even that bad.

Plus Peter was never home when they happened.

But he was home today.

Tony stumbled into his lab and locked the doors.
"Friday, code panic." Tony said.

All of the lights dimmed and Tony heard the reinforcements on the doors activate. He didn't want anyone to see him like this.

Yep, he was having a panic attack. There was no trigger for it anymore, it just happened. Whenever, wherever. It didn't matter.

He slowly crumpled to the ground and breathed heavily as his world spun around him. He felt his head pounding and his entire body felt like it was on fire. He was shaking and shaking, and nothing could stop it.

Meanwhile, Steve, Natasha, Bucky, Clint and Peter were all sitting in the kitchen.
"Anyone know where Mr. Stark is?" Peter asked.

"He might be in his lab, who knows." Clint shrugged. Steve nodded.
"Yea I saw him stumble in there a little while ago."

Natasha's eyes widened, as she knew what was going on. She had seen Tony when he was having a panic attack before, and it was not pretty.

Bucky shrugged and continued eating his cereal. Peter's eyebrows scrunched up in confusion.

"I'll go check on him."

Natasha shook her head.
"I think it's best we leave Tony alone for a bit Pete."

Peter tilted his head.
"Why?"

Natasha smiled sadly and placed a hand on his shoulder.
"He's been having a hard time with some things."

Peter was even more concerned now.
"L-like what!? Is it me moving in? Sh-should I leave?"

Everyone stood up and shook their heads quickly.
"No! Gosh no, Pete you've made all our lives so much better. Especially Tony's." Steve said.

Peter sighed.
"Then you know I have to go check on him." He said, and left the table.

Natasha sighed and shook her head. The others were confused so she explained.
"He's probably having a panic attack. And you know how he refuses to let anyone help him."

The others nodded sadly.
"Maybe Peter will change that?" Bucky suggested.

Peter made it down to the lab when he realized the doors were barred shut. He frowned and knocked.
"Mr Stark?"

He heard nothing.
"Mr. Stark? Can you let me in?" He asked again.

Once again, there was no answer. He sighed, and was about to walk away, when he heard a loud crash come from inside.

Peter spun back around.
"Alright I'm coming in Mr. Stark!" He shouted. Peter took a few steps back and rammed into the door a few times. Nothing.

He sighed and saw that the door had several large metal hinges. He grabbed them and pulled as hard as he could, ripping them all off.

Then he kicked the door and it fell to the floor. Peter ran into the room to see that Tony was on the floor shaking and bleeding from his hands, and a large glass frame was shattered a few steps away.

Peter ran up to him.
"Mr. Stark! Are you okay?" Peter exclaimed as he stepped closer to his mentor.

Tony looked up, his eyes dark and frightened. Peter hesitated. Tony definitely did not look normal. He was still shaking yet he stood and pointed a metal bar at Peter.

"Get away from me!" Tony shouted. Peter gulped.
"M-Mr. Stark, I want to help you." He raised his hands in surrender.

Tony shook his head.
"No, you... aliens! Robots! You're all the same!" He shouted as he charged at Peter.

Peter jumped out of the way of the entranced man as he swung at him. He landed on the pile of glass on the floor and groaned as he pulled  several small pieces from his side.

He stood back up and raised his hands again. He slowly moved towards Tony.
"Tony, I'm not going to hurt you. It's me, Peter..."

Tony hesitated for a minute, then continued to roughly shake his head. He dropped the rod and charged at Peter, blood still dripping from his hands.

"No! I should have done more! I could have saved them! It's all my fault!" Tony screamed. He punched Peter in the jaw, sending the poor boy to the ground as he did not expect his father figure to hurt him.

Tony suddenly saw what he had done and stumbled backwards.
"No... no... no no no no no..."

He slumped back down to the ground with his head buried in his knees. Peter groaned as he stood up. He walked over to Tony, who was more calm now.

"Tony, look at me. You're okay. I'm okay. Everyone is okay." Peter said as he held the billionaires shaking arms.

Tony looked Peter in the eyes. Then he saw the blood seeping through Peter's white shirt, and the large bruise already forming on his face.

"I-I hurt you..." Tony said ashamed. Peter shook his head and forced him to look into his eyes.

"It's okay, I'm okay. I'm gonna get the others to help patch your hands up okay?" Peter said, ignoring the throbbing in his side and head.

Tony nodded, squeezing Peter's hands and silently crying. Peter looked up.
"Friday, can you tell the others to come here please?" He asked.

There was no response, but Peter soon heard footsteps rushing to the lab.

When the avengers walked in, they saw the horrific sight in front of them. The glass and various objects were thrown all over the room, and in the middle of it all was Tony, who looked terrified and bloody, along with Peter, who looked relived and in pain.

Clint and Steve ran to get Tony. Tony looked at Peter and lowered his head.
"I'm so sorry..." he whispered. Peter shook his head and managed a smile.

"You have nothing to be sorry for okay? I'm okay." Peter said. Steve and Clint helped Tony out of the lab and took him to the medical floor.

As soon as Tony was out of eyesight, Peter slowly leaned against the wall and hissed as he held his side in pain.

Natasha and Bucky examined his injuries. Peter groaned and sat down onto the floor.
"It's not his fault. I should have been more careful." He sighed.

Natasha and Bucky sat down beside him.
"What happened?" She asked.

Peter sighed.
"He was in full on panic mode. He didn't know who I was. Kept saying stuff about aliens and robots and how everything was his fault. Next thing I know he's charging at me with a pole and I land right on top of that pile of glass." He explained. He purposefully left out the punch.

Bucky noticed though.
"And your face?"
Peter sighed.
"He may have punched me, but it didn't hurt I swear."

Natasha smiled.
"You're a good kid Peter. You know Tony's going to be devastated when he's back to normal."

Peter sighed again.
"Yea, I know... I'm hoping this will heal a bit before he does though."

So then they helped Peter over to a separate area of the med bay, where he was quickly treated and fixed up.

Soon enough he was sitting with Tony in a small room. Tony looked at Peter and sighed.
"I'm so sorry Peter..."

Peter shook his head and held Tony's hands.
"Don't be, you were having a really bad panic attack. You weren't yourself."

Tony sighed.
"But that's no reason to attack my kid." He added. Peter smiled.
"No, but I mean it's not like you hit that hard anyways." He teased.

Tony smirked and rolled his eyes.
"You're a real pain sometimes Pete, but I don't know what I'd do without you."

Peter smiled and leaned into Tony's chest.
"Me either Mr. Stark. Me either."
