A New Champion (Chapter 11)

I'm back. I had time and a few people seemed interested, so I thought I'd add one more part. Be ready for the next part, it's literally going to blow your minds! Thanks for reading so far!

Keith let out a moan as he weakly opened his eyes. Damn, Haggar's lightning hurt! He mentally growled as memories of the arena came flooding back.

He tried to move, but panicked when he couldn't. His eyes darted across his surroundings and realized he was strapped to some sort of vertical table.

Keith spotted all the sharp instruments through the dim lighting, and started desperately thrashing to get away. To his dismay, he was rather, well... stuck.

The door opened, revealing the second Galra Keith hated most. Her cackle of a laugh was unmistakable. Keith growled at Haggar, as the High Druid strolled in.

"Ah, I see you're awake. How is the Champion feeling today?" She feigned. Keith glared at her, but didn't answer. "What's wrong, Champion? Weblum got your tongue?"

"Don't call me Champion," Keith snapped quietly, gaze to the ground.

"Does it make you homesick, Champion?" She sneered cockily. "Do you miss your dear Black Paladin?" The way she worded the tease, she made it sound as if--

"Where is Shiro?!" Keith suddenly shouted, trying to lash out at the hag. "I swear if you did anything to him, I'll kill you all--!"

Haggar only laughed, snatching his face in one of her hands. Her claws dug into his cheeks and made Keith wince. "There's the fire from the arena. The fire that began the transformation."

"W--What are you talking about?" Keith hissed. Haggar smiled and released the boy. Yes, he certainly was an interesting experiment.

All other attempts like him had failed and were killed off. How this success survived, Haggar's curiosity was peaked.

"Yes, of course you wouldn't remember your flare up," she chuckled as she backed away a few steps. She pointed her hands towards the Paladin, shooting her lightning magic straight at the boy.

Obviously, Keith screamed. Imagine getting struck by lightning or burning in fire. Combine that and triple it and you're close to the pain Haggar's magic caused him.

Keith didn't know how much time had passed before Haggar had finally ceased. He fell forward, only supported by his restraints. His vision was blurred as he breathed heavily, smoke curling from his limbs.

He felt... different, somehow. Not just the weakness from the electricity, but something, alien. It was as if his body changed. (Ha ha, for those of you who immediately thought of puberty).

He struggled to raise his head and look at Haggar, his head feeling slightly... heavier?

Haggar almost beamed with victorious pride at the result of her suspicions. Lotor and Zarkon would definitely be pleased. Before her was a new Champion, and a new possible weapon that was better than the original.

"W--What are you s--smiling at, c--crazy hag?" Keith gasped, his voice barely able to be heard.

"You will see soon enough," Haggar replied vaguely as the restraints dissolved and Keith collapsed to the floor. Two guards picked him up, more hesitantly than before, and dragged him back to his cell.

Keith was unconscious before the door closed.
