We all know the discrimination and abuse omegas have to endure. Not being loved, only used as tools to populate and as toys to please. It wasn't until the time of Empress Jingu during the Meiji Period that omega protection was brought into accordance.

You see, Empress Jingu was a Beta. Her story is an intriguing one; for starters it is not common for a Beta to be raised to the status of a royal and on top of that she was not affected by the pheromones of others. This fascinated the Emperor Chuai and thus their union was formed.

With these assests, she stormed Korea and it is during her exploits she met a friend for life. Like the many others in the society, she too believed the Omega species were purely tools. She did not know however, that many had managed to hide their identity and live a semi-normal life. During her battles, Her Majesty suffered severe injuries and so the royal physician was called.

Now this physician was somewhat a prodigy, she had nursed many casualties allowing them to live their last few days happy and content before passing. The physician stayed by the Empress's side, but this time aiming to allow the Empress to keep living. She managed to do so and it is during this time that the two became close.

One night, the physician did not visit Empress Jingu and the Empress became worried. Ordering the guards to search for her, she finally found her precious friend in the courtyard, barely breathing and surrounded by other guards looking very contented. (TW//) The Empress could not smell, yes, but seeing her guards quiver in ecstasy, horror struck her as she realised that the her friend had been an Omega. With rage and sadness she executed the guards involved and started her campaign against the abuse of Omegas. (TW//)

Building a secluded sanctuary in her palace, the Empress declared a safe haven for Omegas and many flocked under her care. She did not place attendants in the sanctuary and built an independent community within it. During times of heats she sent all the attendants and guards home and the Emperor lived on the other end of the palace with the Empress staying in the sanctuary to care for the community of Omegas. Empress Jingu knew that she could not change her kingdom's view yet and vowed that her descendents would dedicate their lives to protecting Omegas.

Why am I telling you this? While this vow was forgetten in history, the Empress's descendents really did uphold to her promise. I would know. I'm one of them. The name's Hirofumi Atsuya. Descended from the Empress Jingu's line, my family and I do not react to pheromones and they pride themselves off being able to protect Omegas. I say they and not me because I hate my family's reputation but, I really can't ignore my duty can I?

Ayeeeee I'm back!!! How are you guys finding it so far? I would really appreciate any feedback because I really do want this story to be amazing. Why did I come back? Well my friends and I thought about making a story such as this and I really want to fulfill their dreams so this has inspired me to come back to this platform and start writing (cough) despite my dislike to the algorithm now (cough).
