Trumpet Player Problems
Ok, so I felt the need to update this, so I got on Pinterest and looked up a whole lot of trumpet player problems. Some of these can pertain to other instruments. Enjoy :)
😔
My third valve tuning slide does this in my case, but I have a screw that keeps it on.
This is happens all the time.
Or your scale sheet...
I hate when that happens!
I've learned to keep valve oil on my stand now. Quick story:
The other day, I had my oil bottle by my chair and during rehearsal after the scale, Mom just reached down and grabbed my valve oil bottle and proceeded to oil his valves. "Hey!" I whisper-shouted. He looked up and I was like,"Eh, it's ok man." But, when I was saying this, he was like,"I'll squirt you!" and we both proceeded to laugh. I guess he was getting revenge for that one time that I used his valve oil (with permission) during rehearsal and I had just enough time to oil them before I threw the bottle down and raised my trumpet to my lips and proceeded to play and the given downbeat. XD
I wanna do this so bad. The only problem is: my trumpet is silver. But, white flame is the hottest...
I do this a lot.
Nuff said.
I've got it caught in my mouthpiece and it's painful!
Also, don't you brass players hate it when you get a ring around your mouth from pressing it too hard against your mouthpiece???? Some days, after I'm done practicing, I'll look in the mirror and it looks like I'm making a duck face because of the way the mouthpiece imprinted.
Some days, I'll just ask someone randomly
after rehearsal if I have a ring around my mouth. I just hope their being honest...
Also, I realized that I broke one of the most sacred rules known to bandnerdkind:
What happens on the band bus stays on the band bus!!!
I'm sorry! I didn't think about it until after I published it! Oh well, it was too good not to share...
