I Totally "Ace" First Impressions

Ok, that was a crappy pun. You'll see why:

So today, my mom and I went to the Ace hardware store (See where the pun comes in?). I went to the candle section to see what scents they had when I saw a boy around my age. When he had his back turned, I noticed sheet music printed on the back of his shirt. I decided to get closer to him to see what the sheet music was. So, there I was in Ace Hardware following a boy my age around like a creepy stalker without him knowing it. We stopped near the windchimes (No, FluffehDaCat , I didn't pull a Troy.). His shirt said "The Imperial March--Vader Theme" on the back. The key was A-flat concert (B-flat major for we trumpets, clarinets, and tenor saxophones.)--two flats. It looked very familiar, since I had played the Vader Theme before. Finally I said,"Are you in band?" Here's the conversation:

Him: "Yes, but I'm from a different town."

Me: "What instrument do you play?"

Him: "Trumpet."

Me: "Oh my gosh!!!!!!!!!!!!! I do, too!!!!!!!"

Him: . . .

Me: "What school do you go to?"

Him: (I'm not sharing the location, but it's a school pretty far from where I live.)

Me: "Are you going to Small School Band Festival?"

Him: "Um....I'm not sure."

Me: "Hm. It's on the thirtieth, next Thursday. Your school might be a little too big. I'm just trying to find other trumpets from different schools who are going. I haven't found any yet." *sigh*

Him: "Yeah...."

So, that was basically our whole conversation. I think I scared him a little bit from my enthusiasm, XD. But hey, it's not my fault trumpet players have large egos. Anyway, it was awesome that I got to meet another one of my kind.
