I'm not sure how much time past but by the time I had calmed down, the previously blue sky was streaked with the most beautiful sunset I had ever seen. I watched in awe as the sun began to dip below the horizon.

"Hey," someone sat down next to me.

I turned around to see Scout, and smiled warmly, "Hey Scout,"

It was still hard to look at her and not feel some type of way.

But I had to try, she made her choice.

And that choice wasn't me.

Or so I thought.

"So," she began, "I...broke up with Trent, indefinitely,"

I choked on air, unable to believe what she had told me.

My heart felt like it was alive again at the prospect of us being something me.

But before I could reply I heard a thud behind me, "Finally!"

It was Olivia, with Daisy not so far behind Daisy.

"What's all the noise about," Eli asked carefully, looking at Scout as he returned with Noah.

"She broke up with Trent, and she looks...happy about it?!" Daisy exclaimed.

"That's amazing news," Noah winked at me, "What changed your mind?"

I flipped him off secretly as Scout explained why.

"I realised I had been holding on to something that wasn't good for me," she said.

"Took you long enough," Olivia rolled her eyes, letting out a deep breath.

"Yeah it really did," Scout replied, laughing.

"It helped that he was cheating on me though, but I was already second-guessing everything our relationship was about because of someone," she gave me an unreadable look, causing me to furrow my eyebrows.

"Wait what? He cheated on you?" I exclaimed, shocked at her nonchalant tone, "After that whole gesture and apology,"

"Well, he's cheated before, Scout just never had the strength to believe us back then," Olivia pointed out.

"True," Scout sighed, "And I'm so sorry about that guys, I was clouded by what I thought was love, but it clearly wasn't,"

"Glad to have you back, Scouty," Noah smiled, earning a playful punch from her.

"Don't call me that," she feigned annoyance.

"I'm just glad Trent's gone for good now," Eli sighed in relief.

"Me too," I nodded, stretching my legs out, "He scared the crap out of me,"

"How could he possibly scare a tough guy like you," Scout teased as she patted my stomach.

I couldn't help but smile.

"Ewwww get a room," Olivia teased, throwing my towel at me as she stood up to carry her boxes away.

Scout's face turned bright red at the comment.

"Chill, she's only joking," I laughed, taking the towel off my head.

"I knew that," she stood up dusting her jeans off.

I raised my eyebrows at her obviously flustered face as she left to talk to Daisy.

Maybe she did like me.

I could hear Noah singing in the background as I made myself a drink "No more Trent, no more Trent, noooo moreee Tren-"

I laughed at his song, taking a sip of my coffee.

I turned around as he stopped abruptly.

"WHERE IS SHE?" I nearly dropped my drink at the booming sound coming from Noah's direction.

In came an intoxicated Trent, looking furious as he entered the vicinity.

"What're you doing here, Trent, Scout doesn't want to see you," Noah lightly pushed him back, causing him to retaliate with the shove to the ground.

"Woah there," I stalked over to them, helping Noah up.

Scout, Olivia and Daisy emerged out of the tent, Scout looking unbothered, to my surprise.

Was she used to this kind of behaviour?

"Trent what're you doing here," Scout rolled her eyes.

"We're not done talking, yet, hun," Trent replied obnoxiously.

"Uh no, I think we are, hun," Scout scoffed, "There's nothing else to say here, we're done,"

"You can't do that," Trent walked towards her, "Don't you love me?"

Scout behind her to Olivia, and Daisy, then at Noah and Eli, and then finally at me, "No, I don't, I never did,"

"What did you just say to me?!" his voice rose back up as he turned to face me, "So you're just going to leave me for this loser, do you even know who he is?"

He flashed me an evil smile.

"I don't care who you think he is because Cole is 100 times the person you'll ever be,"

My heart was beating fast. Did she really mean that?

He ignored her, "Scout, you can never leave me, you're literally nothing without me. You're just a runaway lunatic without me,"

I could see a tear slide down Scout's cheek as she heard that, but she quickly wiped it away.

Her bottom lip quivered, "Just go, Trent,"

Her past looked like a touchy subject for her.

Scout walked off straight after that, drying her tears.

Daisy and Olivia ran after her, while Noah ushered Eli into their tent to stop him from seeing more of this chaos.

But I wasn't going to let Trent get away that easy.

As he turned to leave, I stopped him, "Who do you think you are?"

He chuckled, "Don't play with me, Cole,"

"You're even more deluded than I thought," I rolled my eyes, unaware of what he meant.

I took a step closer, "You need to stay away from Scout, you monster,"

"I'm a monster?" he smirked, "Isn't that ironic,"

"You see Cole, I know exactly who you are," he whispered in my ear, "You murderer,"

I gulped.

"You don't know jack about me, I didn't do it," I gritted my teeth.

"It didn't take a lot of research to find out who you were, I can't believe I didn't do it sooner," he clapped my back, "Have you told them your little secret yet?"

"No," I looked down at the floor.

Trent burst out laughing like a maniac, taking me by surprise, "Oh, this is gold!"

"What are you waiting for? Go tell them then," I whisper-shouted, getting annoyed with his mind games.

"Oh Cole," he shook his head laughing, "What's the fun in that?"

"What?" I was beyond confused.

Though his next words cleared the confusion in my brain.

"But mark my words, Cole Jackson," he pushed past me, with a mischievous glint in his eye.

"I'll get my revenge when you least expect it,"
