Chapter 6

Chapter 6 is here and I just got some ideas while playing Omega Ruby yesterday. I waited too late to start Ultra Moon cause I had to go to bed soon so I just played Omega Ruby.

"What's taking them so long? Brendan only needed to change!" May said to her worriedly. (Y/n) was sitting on the side of May's bed as May herself was laying across it.

"They could have run in to Zinnia! It's been almost thirty minutes!" May said. (Y/n) was worried too. She'd tried to get a message to Gladion but since he can't exactly send her a telepathic message in response, she couldn't be sure whether he was okay or not.

"I'm sure they're fine. They're probably just bonding or something," (y/n) said although she didn't believe a single word of it. Gladion and bonding never went in the same sentence unless his sister, pokemon, or herself were involved.

"I don't know, (y/n). We got along pretty well already, but Brendan isn't really the type to bond with strangers. Not that Gladion's a complete stranger! I just think something happened," May said. Her expression grew grim.

"You and Brendan must be good friends?" (y/n) asked to lighten her mood noticing her sadned demeanor.

It worked because she smiled a little before saying, "Yeah, we've known each other ever since I moved here from Kanto. That was when I was only seven. When we were both ten, we met Lisia. She gave us contest passes and our awesome outfits and then we became contest stars. It took us a while to get as popular as her though."

"We still aren't recognized as idols though. Brendan said that we have all of the qualifications but even he doesn't know why we haven't been promoted yet. Brendan said that if we became idols, we would actually get paid a little for competing since we would be busy doing other idol things. He said that it would really help out with his rent."

"His father's always so busy with research that he's never really there to help out so Brendan thrives on pokémon battles. I occasionally help him out too since my parents send me money every now and then and I actually own my house," May said.

"Wait so the house Brendan stays in is rented?" (y/n) said. May nodded. Before she could say anything more, May's flareon bounced in and jumped up onto the bed with them. May's flareon named Fall was holding a red collar in her mouth and staring expectantly at May.

"Hmm? Fall, what's this?" May asked as she took the collar from her which read on the inside 'Place this on your pokémon for extra coolness!'.

Fall was saying, "It's from this nice lady named Zinnia. She gave me a treat and told me to give my trainer this gift. She was really nice too. Also she was holding this pretty charm bracelet in her hand. It was really pretty. It had a pretty stone on it. It was rainbow and pretty."

(Y/n) immediately hopped off of the bed while May was petting Fall without the slightest clue of what Fall had been babbling about.

"May! It's Gladion and Brendan! They're in danger!" (y/n) said to her. She didn't have time to explain things in any more detail.

"Wha-? How do you know?" she asked. Of course May didn't know of (y/n)'s ability to converse with pokémon.

"Fall just told me! I'll explain later but right now we have to go!" (y/n) said. May jumped up and grabbed Fall without question. They raced out of the door just in time to see Gladion and Brendan running from the direction of Brendan's house.

"Where did she go! Where? She has my keystone!" Gladion shouted while out of breath as he and Brendan slowed to a stop in front of the two.

"Fall where'd the nice lady go?" (y/n) asked Fall who wondered with a pout before realizingnthe answer. "Oh that way!"

"She went that way," (y/n) said. The two girls took off and left the boys to catch up with them. They were running as fast as they could and finally caught up to Zinnia.

"Zinnia!" (y/n) called. The woman turned around with an amused expression.

"I see your friend has talked some sense into you. That was fast," she said. (Y/n) shook her head.

"No, that's not it. You took Gladion's keystone. I suggest we make a deal. I want to battle you. If I win, you give me Gladion's keystone. If you win, then...you can take me as your sacrifice and I won't resist," (y/n) said. Gladion had just arrived when she had challenged Zinnia.

"(Y/n) no you can't do that! You don't understand what you're getting yourself into. This is way worse than what happened back in Kanto!" he said frantically. They both ignored him.

"I like that offer. You don't seem like the battling type anyway. If you were, you would have stood up for yourself when I confronted you the first time," Zinnia said with a serious look on her face.

(Y/n) looked down so that Zinnia couldn't look at her face and she grinned. It was an arrogant grin because Zinnia was wrongfully judging her not even knowing who she really was.

A former champ never goes down easy.  She looked up quickly to Zinnia who had already pulled out her pokéballs. Zinnia released her first pokémon and (y/n) instantly knew that she would win. Zinnia was a dragon type user just as she had suspected. Zinnia was looking pretty proud of herself until (y/n) released the only pokémon she would need to defeat her.

Although he was just an ice type, he also knew the fairy type move Disarming Voice. (Y/n) released Reiji and the battle took place. Gladion standing behind her with Brendan and May as the three of them watched the battle. It was a very quick one since (y/n) kept landing super effective and critical hits.

"Disarming Voice!" "Frost Breath!" "Sheer Cold!" The battle was over. Zinnia looked at her in disbelief and then laughed.

"Well it seems that I underestimated you. I am not a dishonest person so here is your friend's keystone back. This isn't the last time we will battle though. You're pretty good at it which makes you even better of a sacrifice. I will see you later!" she said as she tossed the charm bracelet to her. (Y/n) caught it.

Zinnia turned to leave but before she did she said, "Think about what I said to you...Gladion."

She then walked off without another word. (Y/n) looked at Gladion who didn't meet her gaze. He was looking out to the distance of the scene around them.

"Gladion...what did she tell you?" (y/n) asked. Gladion looked down and then looked at her. His expression was grim. "She told me how Hoenn was going to be the first region to die."
