Chapter 10
Hey, everyone! I finally got a chapter here and the plot is...well I'll let you determine that.

She jumped in front of him, taking the hit from Camerupt's attack. He had turned around only in time to see her get hit and then catch her falling figure.
"(Y/n)?" he said. His eyes were wide with shock and he looked back at Maxie who also had a surprised look on his face. (Y/n) was still for a minute but then she opened her eyes and gave a mewling, "Ow, that hurt."
Gladion laughed a little once he realized that she was still okay. He hadn't been paying attention to Maxie who had been walking towards them with his two minions and pokemon following right behind him.
"Interesting. This girl can handle the full force attack of my Camerupt's Solar Beam. What is her name?" Maxie said once he'd gotten within about ten feet of them.
"Hey, Gladion...I'm dizzy. I think I need to lie down a little. My head really really hurts," (y/n) said as she sat up and rubbed her head. Her hair immediately began to glow a deep cosmic blue and had specks of black, white, and red here and there. Gladion inwardly cursed because her secret had just been blown whether Maxie knew what it was or not.
Upon seeing this, Maxie stepped back from her but he was thoroughly intrigued by the glowing colors. Gladion could tell that he wanted to ask about (y/n). He'd already asked her name once her saw that she could take a hit from his Camerupt.
"We need to go," he whispered into (y/n)'s ear. She looked at him with a sad and hurt expression but said nothing as he helped her to her feet.
"You don't plan on leaving without telling me a word, do you? I think you owe me an explanation," Maxie said.
Gladion glared at him and said, "I don't owe you anything. Especially after you've hurt (y/n)," Gladion spat at him.
"(Y/n) is it? Why don't you save your friend here the trouble and tell me about what exactly it is that you are," Maxie said looking at her. He inwardly cursed himself again for giving away her name then Gladion glared at Maxie so hard that if looks could kill, Maxie would be way beyond dead.
"Hey! Didn't you hear him the first time? Leave 'em alone! Can't you see that your approach on things isn't getting you anywhere!" someone yelled. Gladion looked behind him to see a guy who looked much like a pirate walking towards them. The man didn't seem to want to cause them any harm so Gladion allowed the man to stand next to him and (y/n).
"...Archie, what are you doing here?" Maxie said and this was the first time that Gladion saw Maxie look angry. The man who was called Archie laughed at Maxie and said, "I'm ruining your plans! Isn't it obvious." Gladion and (y/n) had slowly been backing away from the odd group in an attempt to gradually get away.
"I'm not done with you children yet!" Maxie said as he noticed their escape attempt. He was unpleasantly persistent in the matter.
"They aren't children Maxie. That's another thing that you always failed to realize. Everyone that doesn't share your point of view on things are not ignorant children. These two are obviously capable people," Archie said.
"You're only trying to get on their good side. You saw what this girl did didn't you? You want to find out what kind of power she holds just like I do don't you, Archie. The only differences between you an me are the facts that you make friends only to backstab them and you don't really care about those around you," Maxie said as he released his entire team of pokémon.
Archie did the same after saying, "Hey, this has nothing to do with our differences. We're talking about the world's future here. If you revive that thing, it'll kill us all unless the other is there to try and stop it. Either way, destruction will be done, Maxie. I don't think you understand that you can't control everything!"
Great! Now the leader of Team Magma and some random pirate were fighting and he and (y/n) were stuck in the middle of it. They were literally in the middle of the fight scene. If the pokémon started battling, then the two of them would be caught up in the fighting.
"Hey do you people mind. You're making my headache worse. Can't you see I'm trying to recover here," (y/n) complained. Archie apologized saying, "Right, sorry. I'll keep the noise level on the low." Maxie just lashed out on the girl. "You, obviously do not know your place! Let me show you where you belong. Camerupt, Headbutt!" Maxie said.
The Camerupt ran towards her with surprising speed. Gladion pushed her behind him knowing that they didn't have enough time to get out of the way. Archie's pokémon scattered and one of them pulled him away from where Gladion stood to protect (y/n) even though his intentions were to pull the two along with him.
At the last minute, (y/n) jumped in front of Gladion with her hands out in front of her and eyes closed. It happened too fast. Camerupt never hit its target. Instead, (y/n) and Gladion stood safely behind some sort of barrier that prevented them from being hurt. "Yes! It worked!" (y/n) exclaimed. Everyone, and I mean everyone, was shocked.
"What did you just do?" Archie asked. He had quite literally just coice a majority of everyone's thoughts.
"I think I just used Protect," (y/n) said. Gladion had seen her use pokémon moves before but each time it had always been on accident or in a low stress situation.
Maxie's Camerupt got hurt from the hard impact and had fallen over unable to get up. Maxie returned Camerupt to its pokéball and stood there looking just as shocked as everyone else.
"We will leave for now, but that doesn't mean that you're safe from Team Magma. You both will still be joining our ranks soon enough. Your help will bring our organization to great heights so I will not allow you to fall into the hands of that treacherous Team Aqua," Maxie said as his facial expression returned to its normal neutral style.
Archie's pokémon as well as Maxie's pokémon were now in their pokéballs and Maxie turned and left with his grunts pursuing him. Gladion was now over the fact that (y/n) had successfully used Protect but now he was starting to remember what was going on. "(Y/n) why did you follow me?" he asked her.
"I didn't. Ryoko found you and I watched from behind a tree. You lied to me though. You said that you'd told me everything that Zinnia said to you, but you didn't," she said. Gladion was at a loss for words. She was right. He did lie to her but it was only for her protection. He thought that telling her would lead to her wanting to stop the conflict herself or trying to do something irrational to stop it.
"You weren't supposed to hear any of that. I'm sorry," he said feeling a little bit of guilt.
"You of all people should have known that I'd go after you," she responded. The hurt expression from earlier showed on her face. That was when Gladion remembered why he'd left in the first place.
His anger and grief got the best of him and he said, "I wouldn't have left if you hadn't killed anyone!" He immediately regreted what he said even though he still believed that she had killed his sister and their friends. He had already forgiven her for it because it must have been an accident but the feelings that came with the death of someone you love were still there. He hadn't gotten over them yet.
(Y/n) looked deeply hurt by his comment and Archie who had been listening the entire time winced when he said it. Her eyes teared up and it made Gladion feel even worse.
"(Y/n), I'm sorry," he said reaching out to touch her shoulder but she pulled away from him and said, "Sorry for what? You lied to me and then you accuse me of murder! I didn't kill anyone! And when you spoke to me, I could almost feel the hate in your voice...I was just trying to make sure that you were okay when I came to follow you. Can't you ever think about how I feel when you do things like that!"
Her face was flowing with miniature streams and her eyes had turned a deep dreary blue. Her hair became the color of the deep sea and it began to pulse with light like a beating heart. She turned away from him and ran but before she did she sadly said, "Don't even bother apologizing. You obviously don't even trust me anymore."
Gladion couldn't do anything else but watch her run away from him in sorrow. Even though he wanted to go after her, his bkdy refused to move and he stayed put.
"Dang, kid. You really messed up," Archie, the weird random pirate, said.
"Shut up, and I'm not a kid. I'm 19." Gladion said frowning a little. Who was this pirate to tell Gladion what he'd meesed up on?
"Hey, no reason to get mad at me. You just made a childish mistake is all. I will tell you one thing. Your options are limited right now. That Zinnia girl you mentioned, I've met her before. We have basically the same plan. Just different pokemon."
"Team Aqua plans on reviving Kyogre only to counter Groudon. Yeah there will be damage but not as much as there would be if it was just Groudon out there. This Rayquaza is supposed to stop them both but that'll cause damage too. It's up to you whose side you choose. Im just trying to fight Maxie's attack on the world. He thinks expanding the land is all Groudon will do. He doesn't realize what he's doing," Archie said.
"So you're Team Aqua's leader. You've stolen from people too," Gladion said as he glared at Archie.
"Yeah, whatever. I'm a pirate. What did you expect? If you ever decide to help, go ahead and find my ship. You'll be welcome to land there as long as you aren't working for Dragon Girl or Magma Brain."
"Until you let me know whose side you're on, though, you better keep your friend safe. That little ability of hers seems cool and I have a feeling that Maxie isn't the only one after her. To be honest, I have no use for any extra power to stop Groudon. Kyogre will already be doing enough damage."
"I happen to like this world the way it is. The sea. The land. I can care less about how much there is as long there's some for me to enjoy. Maxie doesn't get that. He probably never will," Archie said.
He turned to walk away from Gladion. Gladion watched him as he walked away. He knew it would be some time before he would return to (y/n). He'd hurt her too badly to just fix it with a simple 'sorry'.
He looked back to where Archie walked off to and ran after him. The best thing he could do now was to keep (y/n) out of the situation. He would help Archie stop Groudon himself. If he could do that before she even got involved then he could save her from anyone going after her. Besides, he couldn't judge Archie too much for stealing for a good purpose even if it was still wrong to steal.
