Reina: Here's the first chapter of the story.
I made up the Tokyo Library for this story.
Unknown
He had to run.
The man dashed through the alleyways, not caring if he was ruining his clothes with the gunk and filth that clung to the walls. His papers were held close to his chest, protecting them as if he was separated from them, the world would come crashing down. Rain pelted his body, but he continued to run undeterred.
"I have to get to the Library!" He muttered. "Mikuni needs to see this!"
He eventually exited the alleys and into the street. In front of him was the Tokyo Library. He scrambled up the staircase, hope fluttering in his chest. He reached his hand out to touch the door knob -
- and as he grasped it, a gunshot rang out. He slumped over, letting go of his papers, scattering them into the water. As the water ruined them, the man fell over dead.
Tsubaki lowered his gun and smiled. One down. Several to go.
He glanced at the papers and picked them up. They were smeared and drenched, but perhaps they were salvageable. He would have to ask Higan about that.
"Thank you for this," he told the dead man. "The Brotherhood will thank you for your hard work."
He turned and left the man on the staircase, who would not be discovered for another three hours.
Reina: Basically to explain why Mikuni freaks out later, this chapter was written. It takes inspiration from the first episode of The Librarians.
Also, I didn't give the dead guy a name. Oops.
