The Secret Midnight Feast
"Are you planning to feed a herd of elephants with that?", Meera eyed Leah's huge load.
"I wish I could but human teenagers eat this much, so none left for any elephants!", Leah said, as he juggled all the bags, and Meera came to help her.
"And why are you trying to feed human teenagers other than you and me?", Meera asked, eyeing the bags in Leah's hand suspiciously.
"Well there's going to be a midnight feast in Gautami's room so I decided to pitch in food so that we both can attend.", Leah replied nonchalantly.
"If someone catches us, you know they will give us hell for it, right?", Meera answered.
"I know that, but what is youth and teenage life without some risk? Plus if it's a mistake we learn something valuable from it.", Leah smirked.
"All right, tell me who are all going to be there?", Meera enquired, curiosity getting the better of her.
Omkar and his gang will be there.....", Leah trailed off when she saw Meera's scowl.
"What?"
"Nothing. Just that Omkar is the most polite guy, I know", Meera muttered, sarcasm oozing from her words like Ice cream oozing off the end of a cone on a sunny day.
"Come on , Meera. He's a really good person. He's one of the only cousin I tolerate! He's been through a lot on his life. So cut him some slack.", Leah placed hand on Meera's shoulder.
"Leah, everybody's been through some thing in life, ok? No one has ever had peachy childhoods and an equally amazing adult life. Yeah, stuff happens, but we cannot keep being hungover by it. We must forge forward and invest in the future.", Meera answered in a heartbeat, her thoughts going to Shaitan's letter about his heartbreak....
"Fine. Each to her own opinions. Anyways are you coming to the midnight feast?"
"Yes. I think I'll come.", Meera answered, her thoughts miles away about a boy who wrote her letters.

The midnight feast was anything but that. First of all. It started at 10 PM, the exact time that the teachers and volunteers went to sleep. Secondly, it was not a feast. Oh hell no, it did not resemble a feast. When one says the word 'feast', one thinks of an orderly seated group, having a polite but fun meal. The scene here resembled more of a ruckus classroom without a sub teacher in it.
Colourful slime flew in all directions, some hitting the walls with an annoying 'Twat' sound, a result of the bus stopping at a Tricks shop, where some of the guys decided to throw their money on an elaborate trick-The Slime.
Juvenile here, would be an understatement.
Meera ducked her head just in time as a particular red coloured slime made it's way towards her forehead.
"Sorry", someone rushed past her and out of the room door to collect the red slime ball.
"Food's here guys! Dig in!", Gauthami's sonorous voice thundered, stooping the ruckus enough for the message to sink in. Then the hungry hoard of teens clambered to stand in line and relieve the priced junk food that they were starved off, citing health reasons.
Meera just stood and watched the fighting boys and gossiping girls, drinking it all in.
"What are you searching for?", Arun asked as he made his way towards her, clutching a bag of chips to his chest as if he was expecting someone to snatch it from him.
"Huh?", was Meera's intelligent reply, being shocked out of her reverie."Oh, nothing", Meera straightened herself, leaning on the doorframe, giving him some space to stand in the cramped up entrance of the room.
Arun snorted. "You were literally just giving the room an X-ray, searching for something specific. Who is it?", he asked peering into her eyes.
"Not a who, its a what. This is what I was searching for.", Meera laughed as she snatched the Chips packet in his hands and made a mad dash out of the room.

Meera ended up at the door of her own room, having subconsciously run to it. But she belatedly realised that the key was with Leah.
Groaning, Meera trudged back to Gautami's room, cursing her ill fate as she munched in her chips. Expecting a standoff when she entered the room, she was shocked at how the room reminded her of the silence that came before a storm. As usual, she was right.
"What's my name? What's my name? What's my name? My name is Sheila, Sheila ki", 2 boys sung the popular song in fake high pitch voices as a response to the poor person on the other end of the telephone line. The whole cracked up in crazy laughter, some clutching their stomachs, while others rolled on the bed, laughing.
"Come quick, they are prank-calling!", Leah beckoned to Meera.
As if that needed any explanation.
"Hello? I'm Xinhou. Where is pizza delivery order please?", the same boy( was his name Ron or Sean? Meera didn't exactly know everyone of her seniors.) spoke into the phone with a horrible accent.
Suddenly, the boy kept the phone down, screaming that they had been caught.
"Stop! What happened? I'm sure we can all handle it!", Omkar calmed the guy down.
"I called the reception! Now they are going to complain to our teachers and disconnect all the telephones in our rooms! We won't make it into our rooms on time!", the boy paled.
"Crap! I told you not to take it too far...", Arun berated him.
Just then a knock was heard on the room door.
"Quick! Hide in the bathroom!" Meera whisper-yelled, pushing all the guys in the room into the small bathroom.
"Tell that you girls came here for watching TV, since it's broken in your rooms, and tell them that I'm in the bathroom if they ask to disconnect the telephone in the bathroom." Meera instructed the girls before closing the bathroom door behind her, signalling the guys inside to be quiet, with a finger on her lips.
