"You are right, Meera. This is beautiful.", Venkatraman had a pensive look as the duo took a walk on the banks of River Spree, as the sun set behind them, the sky tainted in various shades of blue and pink. 

"Isn't it? You should stop worrying too much about work Venkat. Take in the sights, breath a little, just relax! You are in Berlin, for heaven's sake!", Meera nudged him and the duo laughed. 

"Thanks for dragging me away from my laptop. If you hadn't, God knows what I would have been breaking my head over next.", Venkat replied, nodding.

"That's me! I drag people away and make them have fun! Okay, now I sound like a Disney character.", Meera shook her head.

"What's wrong with Disney? Apart from the bucket loads of cheese, Disney is fun.", Venkat shrugged as he pushed his glasses up.

Cheese. Meera's heart stopped at the word. In fact, Meera had stopped eating Pizza and anything involving cheese for most of her first year at college. The one guy who claimed he would be cheesy for her, was now engaged to someone else.

"I hate Disney. I hate the cheese, I hate how unrealistic the characters are and I hate how all of them have happy-endings. It's all bull-"

"Woah! Okay Meera. Relax. We are just talking a stroll down this magnificent river called Spree, and forget about Disney before your brain explodes with anger.", Venkat nudged her, and she looked up at him.

Venkatraman Iyer was a handsome man.

But not as handsome as Aayush.

Meera shook her head to clear her thoughts." Wanna grab a bite?", she asked him, dragging him towards a cafe at the corner of the street.

"Sure...", was all Venkat could say before they had crossed the street, and already entering the quaint little establishment, not bothering to read the name.

Meera searched for two empty seats, but the cafe looked pretty full, except for one little booth were only two people were sitting. Meera made her towards them to ask if they could share seats, when she stopped, frozen cold, air knocked out of her lungs in a sharp exhale.

Are my eyes playing tricks on me? Is that his fiancee? She is so pretty! I want to die!, she thought.

Meera turned back hoping she could convince Venkat to leave, when-

"Meera?", Aayush choked on a sip of cold coffee.

How was she here? Is she alone? God, does have a sick sense of humour, he thought.

She turned back with the sheepiest expression possible, wanting nothing but to disappear.

"Hi?", she seemed to be asking question.

"Hi Meera! Meet Sunaina, my fiancee. Sunaina, meet Meera, my high-school friend.", Aayush introduced awkwardly.

I am your high-school friend? The thirteen letters you wrote me would beg to differ!, Meera glared at Aayush.

"Hello Meera. Nice to meet you.", Sunaina cooly shook Meera's hand, the epitome of poise and elegance.(Her fashionable, yet sensible clothes, screamed so.)

"Meera?", Venkat came just then, and Meera dropped Sunaina's hand as she introduced him.

"Venkat, meet Aayush, my high-school senior, and Sunaina, his fiancee. Guys, meet Venkatraman, my fiance.", Meera introduced.

"Fiance-to-be.", Aayush corrected, as he shook Venkat's hand.

"Just sit down. Don't keep standing.", Sunaina offered, before she shook hands with Venkat, and offered him a small smile.

"That's alright. We need to be on our way. We were going to go see the Reichstag building now.", Meera, quickly made it up. She didn't want to spend another minute with Aayush's fiancee. She didn't like Sunaina's smile or her graceful way she slid into the booth. It was nauseating.

"We are?", Venkat asked, puzzled.

"Of course Venky! I planned so that we can get our coffees and then go sight-seeing! You deserve the break, after all. And of course, we wouldn't dream of disturbing this cute couple would we?", Meera smiled weakly, hopping to convince them and get out of there.

"Oh no! No disturbance! I'm actually glad to meet you! And I think it would be perfectly fun to go sightseeing with them, wouldn't it, Aayush?"

"Perfect fun", Aayush gritted his teeth.
