To Madison

Three days have passed, slowly and miserably, since you went to hospital, and still you haven't woken up. Why won't you? Why won't you wake up? Why Madison, why? I honestly would do anything to see your eyes again, to see you smile. To hear your voice, to hear you sing.

Rosie came and visited you for the first time today, and it was really heartbreaking. Rosie might be too young to know what is actually happening, but she has realized something is wrong. Instead of being her usual cheery self whenever she is around, she is quiet and will only make noises if you talk to her. When she had arrived, she started crying because you weren't responding to her.

I don't know how or why but your heartbeat started going faster the second she had started crying. At first I thought you had woken up but when the doctor came he just said that you are getting better and will be responding to noises which are familiar. Either way, that is still great news.

I love you Madison, and I can't wait for you to get better.
