Chocolate and Cookies
I had a light lunch of fruit and some chocolate mousse. Guranteed that I'd eat sugar if I was to spend the evening at a coffee shop, I was determined to stick to my low sugar diet and there by keep my shape intact.
My phone beeped just as I was coming out of the bathroom. A towel wrapped in a turban around my head. Another wrapped around my body.
I opened the newly arrived message. It read,
Chocolate and Cookies. Three blocks south college. 4pm sharp!
God! Could he have not sent a more shorter message. And what's with that exclamation mark at the end. I have never been late to anything else before.
Grunting, I threw the phone inside a purse I was going to take today and twirled as I decided what to wear.
Nothing flashy of course. After this afternoon I'd kill myself before giving him another reason to gloat. Or pass the kind of comment he did at the balcony today.
Even the thought of it made my cheeks burn.
But you liked it.
I wasn't in the mood for a battle within my head.
Finally I gave up trying and decided to look semi professional. Just how I'd go to school. I wore a sky blue blouse and prussian blue pants ensemble. Hid my hair underneath a navy blue shawl wrapped around my head.
I did not bother with makeup except for a touch of lip gloss.
He has a beautiful woman soon to be his bride. Why would how I look even matter to him. The feeling was really bitter that I stared sourly at my reflection in front of the mirror.
Instead I focused on this new idea that had been formulating in my ever so creative mind. I thought back to the Dean's words in his office where he met with both me and Blue.
I want something we've never heard of before. A wow factor.
Well if I succeed in pulling this off, it's more than a wow factor. I would bet my bottom dollar that. As I got my papers and files together I sketched in my mind a rough draft so as to discuss it with Shezaad. I had thirty minutes left to get late and I wanted to be promptly on time.

I was supposed to meet the four of them, Shezaad, Roger, Parker and Shaun here at four. One hour and fifteen minutes later, u am still sitting here at this cubby by myself, with a half empty glass of milk shake that grew colder by the minute. Still no sign of any of them.
Had they forgotten?
Impossible. Forgetfulness isn't one of Shezaad's many traits. I checked my phone again. No new messages. In the last hour I read his message to me about ten times.
Chocolate and Cookies. Three blocks south college. 4pm sharp!
It said 4pm sharp.
Sharp!!!
What the fuck got them late one and quarter hours. I think I had one perfect guess at the back of my head but instead of dwelling on it I went ahead with planning out the inspiration that had struck me a few days ago. The idea that I was planning to to discuss with Shezaad. The one that I have no intention of sharing with him anymore. By five thirty I had it all planned and felt really pleased when I pored over my work.
With a loud bang I heard the sound of youthful laughter. And pushing apart the door loudly entered some familiar faces. A nervous Parker, a laughing Roger, loud and boisterous Shaun, actually two of them and lastly a cocky faced Shezaad. Their eyes didn't bother to scan to look for me. They came straight to where I sat and found places to rest their asses, without so much as an excuse, let alone an apology.
My doubts are already confirmed. They played me. The fucking dolts and doppelgangers played me. Prakned me. Held me up for ninety fucking minutes.
"I hope you haven't been waiting long", Shane, Shaun's twin brother asked me without a twinge of guilt. I noticed that, it was also the first time he spoke to me directly, if not at all.
"Oh no. Not too long. Do you guys want to order anything?"
The laughing stopped. This, apparently wasn't the reaction they were expecting. I guess they hoped for something more akin to table turning and hair wrenching.
Well pigs do fly!
Like hell if I give them the satisfaction of what they want to see. Of course that is a mild description of what I really want to do and how I felt. I'd very much like to kick them each in their precious crotch, BUT, I decided against it, for more creative reasons.
I smiled sweetly, not overdoing it, at their surprised faces. They were waiting for it. Waiting for my perfect composure to slip. We'll I wasn't going to loose it like their head honcho's soon to be bride often did. I
"Oh yeah! Yeah let's order something", Shaun broke the ice first. He and his brother busied themselves studying a menu. Parker reached for another. Shezaad stared unblinking at me over the steeple of his fingers. I can't see his mouth to tell whether he was laughing or tight lipped. Roger looked from me to him and back and forth. He then buried his face inside another menu.
My mind was running a thousand miles perhpur, conjuring up all kinds of different ways of pay back. And I could tell by looking into those blue orbs, that Shezaad could tell that something was cooking inside my mind.
Only he cannot tell what. Oh hahaha. That is where I have upper hand.
No worries Blue, you will soon know.
"So umm....what got you guys late", I asked, still keepibg innocent.
"Oh we weren't late. We were at the gym", Shane, I realised jumped to answer even though his face was full stuffed with fries.
What the......
"Gym?"
"Yeah. It's there", he pointed to my right. And sure enough, across the road was a large building. It's top floor floor looked like a very sophisticated building.
"Hey don't drink that. It's won't do good after two hours of work out", Shane remarked at Roger with a sly look in my direction.
Two hours!
Two fucking hours, while I was.....
Calm down Zoya!
Shaun glanced at me nervously, more like he was worried that it hurt me than it angered me.
Fuck hurt. I was boiling. I wanted to stab them with the fork that I was gripping on my arms. But that would give away too kuch of what I had in mind coming for them. I put the fork down, but again, not before Shezaad took note.
I waited till they finished eating, with my clasped hands resting on my chin.
As soon as they paid the bill Shezaad stood up.
"It's too late now. We will have to reschedule this meeting another time. Let's get going", he looked nowhere but directimly at me.
"Actually I was thinking the same", I got up and grabbed my bag and papers.
"Let me know will ya", I smiled at Shezaad and headed out before them. Plan to pay back sealed in mind already.
