Last we left off, Kanba was tasked to defeat Wind Serpent Ibushi during another Rampage, Nergigante also making another appearance to try and fight the serpentine Elder Dragon. When Wind Serpent Ibushi retreated, Kanba had discovered something hidden about himself when he resonated with Nergigante before the beast flew away to parts unknown, Kanba had discovered that he was a Human-Wyverian hybrid.

Kanba at the moment had finished a couple of quests before coming to Hojo with an urgent quest.

Hojo: Oh, Kanba! I have an urgent quest for you! Your task is to hunt a rather large Rakna-Kadaki causing a disturbance in the Lava Caverns. The appearance of this monster is rather concerning as they have never been spotted in this locale before. Hmm... This peculiar occurrence as well as Minoto's strange behavior. Certainly there is a connection, no?

Kanba: Hmm...

Hojo: In my case, we're counting on you to hunt that Rakna-Kadaki. Hop to it-to it, Hunter of Kamura!

Kanba: Yes, Master Hojo.

Kanba goes to Minoto at the quest counter, Minoto herself not paying attention to him, seemingly lost in her thoughts.

Kanba: Minoto?

Kanba breaks Minoto's train of thought and looks at him.

Minoto: Hey there, Kanba! Guess what came in for you? That's right, an Urgent Quest!

Kanba: Are you...okay? You don't usual act this bubbly.

Minoto: Oh? Well, how do I explain it? Hmm... I don't know what's wrong with me. Maybe it's exhaustion. Who knows?

Kanba: Well, if that's the case then maybe you should get some rest. Should help straighten you out.

Minoto: I think I definitely need some rest too.

Kanba: Good, I'll sign for the Urgent Quest and be on my way. You should be well rested by the time I come back.

Minoto: Of course, good luck fighting that Rakna-Kadaki.

Kanba signs for the Urgent Quest and heads off to the Lava Caverns, the cutscene playing with Rakna-Kadaki wandering the inner sanctum of the volcano.

Wandering Widow: Rakna-Kadaki

Kanba arrives at the camp outside the volcano and begins the gathering phase of the hunt.

Kanba: I'm still shaken about what I learned of myself. Regardless, I should embrace it and carry on.

Kanba does battle with Rakna-Kadaki, the battle taking a moment to learn but he defeats the arachnid monster.

Kanba: Creepy thing you were, not anymore.

Kanba returns to the village Gathering Hub, Fugen and Hojo greeting the hunter they start talking.

Fugen: Ah, you're back, Kanba. One of our researchers were saying that the Rakna-Kadaki was acting the same as other monsters under Ibushi's influence. But I thought Wind Serpent Ibushi tucked tail and ran off. If Ibushi's out of the picture, what's causing this mess? Hmm... Something ain't right. It's almost as if a second Rampage was brewing...

Hojo: "Where is my queen? Where is my queen?" That is what Hinoa heard when resonating with Ibushi.

Kanba: And what Nergigante said to me when I resonated with it, "This is the beginning of the end." Do you think these two leads may be correlated?

Hojo: Hmm... It would appear so, including with the evidence we found.

Kanba: What evidence?

Hojo: We discovered what this "queen" is, or rather, Minoto has...

Kanba: Minoto? She discovered it?

Fugen: Yes, for better or worse, it looks like Minoto also has the "gift" of resonating with monsters. And with this new information, the Guild has confirmed that this "queen" is an Elder Dragon... And its name is Thunder Serpent Narwa.

Kanba: Nergigante. If he's chasing after Ibushi, he's probably trying to follow his trail to wherever this "Thunder Serpent Narwa" may be. Either for food, or he looks to put a stop to this madness that's disturbing him.

Hojo: Imagine that, the Eater of Elders looking to stop the Rampage with the help of our top hunter! There may be hope yet to stop them!

Fugen: Our scouts are out locating this Thunder Serpent. It won't take them long to find it. When the final battle comes around, it's all yours, Kanba. But if Nergigante happens to show his mug, even better.

Kanba: Of course, Elder Fugen.

Hojo: Until then, Seven Star hub quests are available for you to keep busy until we locate this beast.

Kanba: Already one step ahead.

Kanba talks to a couple people before going to Minoto.

Minoto: Hello, Kanba. Why the long face?

Kanba: You resonated with Thunder Serpent Narwa. It just has me...worried.

Minoto: I appreciate your concern. It was the first time I experienced it, so I apologize for my reaction, but you needn't worry.

Kanba: Huh?

Minoto: The constant stream of thoughts can be distracting, but I forget it because I'm glad to have the same power as you and Hinoa.

Kanba: As long as this isn't affecting you in any bad way, I won't worry. Now, let's see what quests we have.

Kanba signs for the quest regarding the Super Saiyan monkey, Rajang, heading out to the Lava Caverns as the cutscene plays with Rajang fighting Rathian.

Destruction Incarnate: Rajang

Kanba arrives at camp and starts the gathering phase of the hunt to prepare for an intense battle.

Kanba: Rajang. I've heard many things about this beast. This will not be an easy fight. I need to be on my toes at all times.

Kanba then goes to battle the beast, the battle being hard to master for the hunter, but he pulls through and defeats the apish beast.

Kanba: A worthy opponent. Hopefully we shall meet again.

Kanba finishes a few other quests before we see Utushi running along the rooftops before landing on the balcony of the Gathering Hub with Fugen and Hojo.

Utsushi: Elder, I have important news.

Utsushi whispers the information to Fugen.

Fugen: Thank you, Utsushi.

Utsushi leaves before the Wyverian sisters show up.

Hinoa: Elder Fugen?

Fugen: Hinoa, Minoto. Go assemble the villagers.

The two sisters nod and go to gather the villagers.

Later, everyone is in the Gathering Hub, with Kanba at the front.

Fugen: We have discovered... The whereabouts of Thunder Serpent Narwa. The one Wind Serpent Ibushi calls his "queen". If we defeat her, the Rampage may finally come to an end!

Hinoa: However, the hunters dispatched by the Guild to dispose of Narwa... Have all been completely wiped out...

Minoto: Therefore, the Guild has issued a request to the Hunter... Who was responsible for defeating Ibushi.

Kanba perks up hearing that, knowing that the Hunter responsible was him, even everyone behind him were murmuring about him.

Fugen: So, Kanba, think you can handle it?

Kanba: I came this far. I'm not backing out now. I'll do it.

Fugen: Heh. Of course!

Yomogi: You have to- You have to...! You have to come back to us! Or I'll wipe the floor with whatever is left of you!

Kanba smirks at her, despite the false threat.

Kanba: Don't worry, I won't be defeated.

Iori: You're my biggest... No, you're the village's biggest hero!

Kanba: Friends, I know that you all expect great things from me, especially in these dark times. So rest assured when I tell you this, I will not fall at the hands of Thunder Serpent Narwa. Because this is my home too, and all of you are the closest I have to a proper family. Everything I've done so far has kept each and every one of you safe from devastation, so with that being said, I shall put an end to Narwa and the Rampage today!

Everyone cheers for Kanba, inspired by his compassionate and courageous words before the hunter walks up to Fugen.

Kanba: I'm ready.

Fugen: Well then...

Fugen places both of his hands on Kanba's shoulders.

Fugen: Good luck, Hunter of Kamura.

Kanba puts on a confident grin and nods, soon he heads out to the location of Thunder Serpent Narwa, the Coral Palace.

Lighting and thunder

The Narwa cutscene plays with the serpentine Elder Dragon rising from behind the old abandoned palace.

Lady of Lightning: Thunder Serpent Narwa

Kanba arrives at the camp outside of the Coral Palace, preparing himself for a gnarly battle by collecting a Rainbow Spirit Bird and eating a Dango to boost his skills.

Kanba: This is it, the Rampage will come to a close. I won't be defeating here. For Kamura Village!

Kanba heads to the stage of the Coral Palace, Narwa noticing his presence and roaring loudly at him.

Kanba: This is your end, monster! Shall you terrorize my home no more! Today you shall be defeated!

Kanba and Narwa begin the fight, steel and lightning in a final dance to the death, Kanba using everything he's learned so far to win this battle. Kanba even acknowledged the thunder sac on Narwa's belly and uses that as a weak point, and used artillery mounts, like cannons, ballistae and machine ballistae whenever available, even using the Splitting Wyvernshot and the Dragonator when they were ready. And the moment of triumph finally comes when Kanba deals the final blow, Narwa desperately trying to escape but her weakend state wouldn't allow her to fly high enough so she ends up falling onto the floor, but the force of the impact was so great that the ground broke and Narwa fell into a black abyss.

Kanba: There was only one way this would end. You or me, but I wouldn't fall here.

Later, Fugen and the sisters arrive to examine the aftermath.

Kanba: She's down there somewhere.

Fugen: Down there huh? I can hardly see anything...

Hinoa: Minoto...

Minoto tries to sense out Narwa, but there was nothing.

Minoto: I can't sense Narwa anymore... I don't think she's here. *To Kanba* Thank you.

Kanba: All in a day's work.

Fugen: Very impressive. I gotta say, Squirt, you never disappoint!

Kanba: I never lose a fight if it means to protect the village.

Kanba and Fugen share a laugh before Fugen continues.

Fugen: Hinoa, Minoto. How about a feast?

Hinoa & Minoto: Everything is ready.

Fugen: Outstanding. Then let's all head back to Kamura.

Kanba: Yes, Elder Fugen.

Back at Kamura, everyone was celebrating Narwa's defeating in the Gathering Hub, having a grand time with the peace being restored. Or at least, so it seemed, as Utushi lands on the balcony of the Gathering Hub, Fugen turning to face him.

Utsushi: Elder Fugen...

Fugen: Find Narwa?

Utsushi shakes his head "no", Fugen's face showing concern.

Kanba was making his way through the Gathering Hub, trying not to bump into others as he exits the Hub and finds Minoto and Hinoa together by the lake, resonating with Ibushi and Narwa.

Hinoa: "My queen, my queen. The time to converge has come."

Minoto: "Soon our offspring. Shall roam around the Earth."

Hinoa & Minoto: "Let the storms howl, and the thunder roar."

The resonance ends as Kanba stands a few yards away before Nergigante suddenly flies over them and lands in front of the hunter, growling deeply as the two stare at each other eye-to-eye, Kanba's face showing no fear as he starts resonating with the Elder Dragon once again.

Kanba: "The time is coming soon, the final fight is at hand. The serpents will converge at the palace made of sea plants for their final embrace. Be prepared, Hunter. For the fate of your village and the land around it, rests on your hands. Do not keep me waiting."

Kanba stops resonating and Nergigante flies away with no fight needed, taking what the Eater of Elders said to heart very dearly.
