Chapter 16

Link got back to the Graveyard after greeing the Great Fairy of Power; he realized that the endless rain has stopped, and all the Poes dissapeared. However, there was still one ghostly figure that appeared in front of Link. It was the ghost of Dampé the Gravekeeper; he was holding a lamp with his right arm, and he had a big ring on his head.

- "Well, well, well. I never though I'll see you again. You may remember me as Dampé the Gravekeeper... at least when I was alive. That's right... I have already passed away. My body is resting close to my house, and that's where it will remain forever. It was fun been the Gravekeeper of this Graveyard, but that time has now passed, and now, I must rest in peace. As for you, you look more stronger than last time we met. After helping you going to Death Mountain, I had this feeling that you would do something big for this world. This may sound weird, but I actually feel proud of you. I know that you will do even more bigger things in the future."

Suddenly, an icy wind came to the Graveyard. Link felt the cold and started to shake.

- "Hm? You felt a cold wind passing through here? That's odd. That doesn't happen on this place normally. Still, if what you say is true, then i'm pretty sure that it came from the icy mountain known as Snowpeak, which you can only get to from Zora's Domain. I wonder if there's something strange happening in that place right now? Anyway, I think that is none of my business. I have to go and rest in my grave now, so this are my last words to you: whatever you are doing right now, be sure that is for the good of people, but for you as well."

Dampé the Gravekeeper left Link and got back to rest. Link approached to Dampé's house and saw his Gravestone with the following message:

Here lies Dampé the Gravekeeper:
A man with a good heart

He then left the Graveyard, and got back to the Kakariko Mart to buy some arrows and potions. He then left the Village.

Link was curious about the cold wind he felt back at the Graveyard, and also what Dampé told him about Snowpeak, so he decided to go back to Zora's Domain. He felt the cold wind again while passing through the Zora's River, and it felt more stronger the more closer he got to Zora's Domain. Once he got there, he saw that the Domain was all normal. The water was still flowing, and the Zoras were normally swimming. Link went to the throne room to meet with the King once again. He saw him on his throne, alongside with Princess Ruto.

- "Link! You are back!" Ruto said while running to him. "I'm so glad to see you again! Did you came back for our marriage?"

*Link felt awkward by Ruto's words*

- "Ah Link... I see you're still alive and better than before" the Zora King said. "What brings you back to Zora's Domain?"

*Link asked the King about Snowpeak*

- "Snowpeak? Oh yes, that is the cold mountain of Hyrule. It can only be entered if you pass by the passage behind me. I don't think I can tell you anything else since I have never put a foot on that place. We Zoras can't resist the cold temperature coming from there. However, there was a beast that got into our Domain a while ago, only to grab a fish we Zoras know as Reekfish, which can only be found right here. All the Zoras were on a high patrol since that happened... Why are you asking though...? Huh? You said that you felt a cold wind on Kakariko Village? And you think that it may be coming from that mountain? That can't be possible."

Suddenly, a cold wind came behind King Zoras, sending chills to his body.

- "Ah! Where did wind that came from?" King Zora said.

- "I've felt it too father" Ruto added.

- "Did that just came from...?" King Zora remained silent. "That really felt cold... It seems that is true. Something odd is happening on Snowpeak right now, and is not very good at all."

- "What do you mean father?" Ruto asked.

- "Ruto, our people may be in danger once again. I'm afraid that this cold will get worse, and if that happens, our home will be covered in ice, and we might..."

- "What!?" Ruto said surprised.

-  "Link, if you came here, then it must be for a purpose. We didn't forget what you did for us back at Lake Hylia, so we know what you are capable of. If you really need to go to Snowpeak, then I will let you enter through here."

King Zora started to move... very slowly... Link and Ruto were waiting for a while for him to move...

- "All right. Sorry if that took so long. I've opened the path for you. Go now, but be extra careful with the cold. I'm pretty sure that there are torches in certain parts of the mountain. If you had something that you can lit with the fire of those torches, then the warn may protect you from getting freeze."

- "Be careful out there Link" Ruto said.

Link passed through the entrance to Snowpeak, ready for whatever was about to come.

****************

Snowpeak

The cold mountain of Hyrule, where no hylian could pass without a proper caution to remain warm. Link would not be able to pass through easily neither. However, he saw one of the torches that King Zora spoke about. Link took out a Deku Stick and lit it with the fire of the torch. Link didn't felt cold anymore thanks to the fire. After a while, the Deku Stick burned away. Fortunately, Link was close to another torch, so he got another Deku Stick out and lit it.

Link kept moving, using every Deku Stick and torch he found on his way until he reached a cave. He entered and felt warmer thanks to the torches that were hanging around. While continuing through the cave, Link saw a new type of Keeses: the Ice Keeses. One of this touched Link and froze him. Link managed to break the ice, but he was a bit damaged.

Link kept moving while slaying all the Ice Keeses trying to attack him. At the end of the cave he found a door with two big hands printed on it. He also noticed that it was leading outside, so he got another Deku Stick out and lit it on fire on the most closer torch.

He got out of the cave and found himself in the most taller part of the mountain. He looked on the distance and saw Hyrule Field; he also saw Hyrule Castle covered with the barrier created by Kyriaxis. He felt disappointed while looking at it: thinking that it was his fault that Princess Zelda was still in danger.

Link started to climb the mountain while still holding the lit Deku Stick. Suddenly, he saw a white beast on the distance. The beast has a brown hat, big hands, and a big and round tail. The beast was also holding a red fish. Link though that it must be the Reekfish that King Zora mentioned. He slowly got close to the beast, and the beast started to speak:

- "Uh! Whoa-ho!  I heard ruckus, and uh! Just a human! I see humans not often, uh? Why humans come to snows? You... on spiritual journey? You look for true self?"

*Link nodded at the beast*

- "Uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh! You look for long time! That was joke. Yetis joke too, uh. You look for something else, uh? Tell truth."

*Link asked him about the Great Fairies*

Uh. You look for "Great Fairy" in such faraway place... Uh. I don't know any Great Fairy. But you make good climb! And you lucky to meet me! I found mysterious dark orb. Uh! You come to house and see yourself! I found fish. I make you hot meal, at least... My house far away... We slide there, uh? Do like me! Come! Uh. You look cold by the way. You take this and get warm, Uh."

Link got a Hylian Jacket. Now he can cover himself from the cold without the use of fire.

The Yeti punched a tree on his right, and a frozen leaf felt. He then hop on the leaf with one foot and started to slide on it, directly to his house. Link did a Roll and hit the tree with his foot. Another frozen leaf felt, and he used it to slide behind the Yeti.

He followed the track that the Yeti left on the snow. He passed through a bridge, jumped on trees, he slayed various Ice Keeses trying to attack him until he reached the end. He found himself with a big mansion that was already on ruins. "The Yeti has a nice place to stay" that's what Link though.

Link walked to enter the ruins, but a big dark barrier stopped him. Suddenly, a portal opened on the sky, and three Fallen Fairies came from it. He never expected to see more of them around the Kingdom. Link got both his Hylian Shield and the Master Sword to fight back.

Back at Hyrule Castle, Link needed to use the Great Fairy Rod to fight this enemies. However, the Master Sword, the sword of evil's bane, was powerful enough to destroy them. Yet, he couldn't end them with a single attack just like the Great Fairy Rod, so he had to fight harder. At the end he slayed all three Fallen Fairies with the power of the Master Sword and fred himself from the dark barrier. Finally, without any other delay, Link entered the ruins, hoping to find any clues of the next Great Fairy.
