Link returned to Hyrule Field, and the voice of Sahasrahla came back to him.

- "Link... Can you hear me? Is me, Sahasrahla. You have done it. You gathered every single Fairy Charm. Now you can go and get to the Great Fairy Rod. Just like I said before you started your adventure, the Great Fairy Rod is located in the Fountain of Greatness, and the Fountain of Greatness is located in the Woods of Stray Fairies. However, going through the woods is not going to be an easy task. There are many monsters patrolling around, so I suggest you to prepare yourself before going in. The Woods of Stray Fairies is located to the North of Hyrule Castle. Good luck Link, and may you be return safely".

Link got back to Kakariko Village to buy arrows and another Red Potion. After buying everything he needed, he met the same goron that ask him for donations to open a new shop at Castle Town.

- "Oh! Is you again brother. Guess what? We have gathered a lot of money to open a new mart at Castle Town, but we still didn't reached our goal yet. We only need 1,000 more Rupees to fulfill it. Do what do you say brother? Will you donate once again?"

Link gave 100 Rupees to the Goron.

- "Thank you brother! Have a nice day!"

Link left Kakariko Village and ran to the North of Hyrule Castle. The Woods of Stray Fairies was really far away from Hyrule Castle. Link ran to the north while fighting monsters. After a while, he realized that he still had a long way to go, despite all the distance he already ran from Hyrule Castle. Suddenly, Sahasrahla's voice came back.

- "Link! Is me again, Sahasrahla! I forgot to mention another important detail: the Woods of Stray Fairies is too far away from Hyrule Castle. You are not going to make it unless you have some kind of transportation... like a horse. I suggest to come back and find any way posible to get to the north in a short period of time."

After Sahasrahla left, Link got back and started to make a plan on how to get to the north in time. Hearing the word "horse" from Sahasrahla voice, he remembered about Malon, the girl that he saved a while ago. She had a horse with her, whose name is Epona. Link decided to get to her and hopefully ask for her help.

Lon Lon Ranch

The first thing he sees when he reaches the ranch are a lot of horses running around the place. Link continued walking and saw a man putting some boxes on a horse cart.

- "Well hello there! Welcome to Lon Lon Ranch! My name is Talon, and I'm the owner of this place! Hey, are you by chance Link? So you're the one that saved my daughter from the monsters. She told me that her rescuer had green clothes, so I though that it was you. If you're looking for her, then she's in the middle of the race track along with all the horses. Meanwhile, I'll go to Hyrule Castle on this horse cart to deliver some milk. What? You may not stay for too long? Hahahaha! If you're saying it because of my daughter's safety, then you don't have to worry about it. She will be safe in here with all the horses, especially with Epona."

Talon hop on the horse cart and left the ranch, toward Castle Town. Link went to the horses to find Malon. He then saw her besides Epona, singing the same song that attracts the horse.

- "hm? Ah! Is you Link! So you finally came to the ranch. Have you met with my father? He's a hardworking man. I bet he already left to Castle Town to deliver the Milk right? Anyway, what brings you here? Huh? You're looking for a horse? Hmmmm... I see. However, I don't know if any of the horses around here will feel comfortable with you... Except..."

*Malon looked at Epona and though that she could be suitable for Link*

- "Aha! Epona may be perfect for you! Why don't you try and hop on her? I'm sure she will like you?"

Link tried to hop on Epona. However, Epona didn't like him and ran away. Link tried to reach her, but she was too fast for him. She is really the good choice to reach the Woods of Stray Fairies.

- "Oh-oh... It looks like she doesn't like you a lot..."

*Malon sang the song once again, atracting Epona back to her*

- "Calm down Epona. You don't have to be afraid of Link. Remember that he saved us from the scary monsters... Is obvious that Epona won't trust you unless you sing her favorite song. I Call it 'Epona's Song'. I know, the name is very simple, but if you really want her to trust you, then you need the song. Here, take this flute."

Link got the Horse Flute. Use it to call out Epona when you need her.

"If you blow that flute, then Epona's Song will play. Come on, give it a try."

Link blew the flute and played Epona's Song. Epona reacted to the sound and walked toward Link.

- "It worked Link! Quickly! Try to hop on her! Malon said.

*Link tried to mounted Epona successfully*

- "You did it Link! Epona now has full trust in you. I guess that you can now travel across Hyrule with more ease. However, I would like to see both of you running around the race track. How about if you run like... three times? Is that ok?"

Link agreed with her. He made Epona walk to the race track and waited for Malon's sign.

- "3... 2... 1... GO!" Malon shouted.

Epona started to run as fast as she could; Link witnessed her high speed. He was convinced that she would take him to the Woods of Stray Fairies in no time. After finishing the three laps, she got back to Malon.

- "Oh Epona. You never failed to amaze me" Malon said happily. "I guess you're ready to go. But please, promise me that you will take great care of her. She is really important to me, just like my father and the rest of the horse in this ranch... you take care of Link too Epona."

Link nodded at Malon and got out of the ranch with Epona, directly to the North of Hyrule Castle, and to the Woods of Stray Fairies.
