The next day Marinette wakes up early, so she prepares for the day; then goes to the garden. She smiles when she sees there are no crows in her garden. She names the scarecrow Luka because she notices he rarely smiles.

     She picks a few tomatoes, pieces of corn, and squash. She takes them inside and rinses them off. She hums as she makes a small salad. She smiles the entire time while she looks out the window.

       Luka scans the area for pest. He sees none as usual. He secretly wishes to be free from his stand for a day.

     Marinette enjoys her day, then prepares for bed early. She rests peacefully.

      Luka explores the woods for a bit, then returns to his stand. No birds came by while he was away. It seems the crows told on him, so now all the birds are afraid of him. He smiles at the moon and stars. He makes a secret wish just for her. He is grateful for his name as other scarecrows are not as fortunate. He makes sure not to let her down.

     A small, gray squirrel arrives at the garden. It hears the alarm go off and runs away. It does like the loud sound the thing makes. It goes home and decides to stay away from the farmer's land from now on.

   A rabbit approaches the land soon after the squirrel leaves. The bunny rabbit tries to eat a few carrots but hears a loud, creepy noise. It hops away with no plans to return.

  Some deer arrive at the garden, nibble the corn but run away when they hear the noise.

   A  mole digs a hole under the dirt, but it too runs away when the laser shines in its eyes.

   A woodpecker stops his pecking when he hears a loud sound and sees a bright light. He hides inside his tree and gets some rest.

   The garden gnome's colors fad as it sits there. It seems he is worn out.

    The sprinklers come on to spray some water over all the plants. The scarecrow does not so much as blink at this. 

     A  worm pokes his head up and sneaks back under the ground when he sees the hose pipes. He does not like water that much anyway.

     The cat stays out of the garden because he hears a guard stands in it.  The dog runs away because he cannot stand the bright lights.
