Chapter 70

Lizzy's POV

I quickly made it onto the deck of the boat to find the old woman looking over the side at the horizon. My eyes followed the direction hers were in to the see the sunset, it was beautiful more so than what i'd ever seen in the castle at home...I'd never been allowed near the sea so I hadn't experienced such a sun set yet. I usually only saw a little bit of the sun setting before it disappeared behind the vast amount of trees surrounding the kingdom.

I slowly made my way towards the older woman, keeping my eyes glued on the sunset just in case I missed even a little bit of it.

"It's beautiful isn't it?" She said turning to me, a smile on her face.

I slowly nod my head, reluctantly peeling my eyes away from the view and turning to face her,

"Yes...it's amazing"

"It's not so bad being a pirate you know, usually you hear a lot of bad stuff about us but really all we're doing is fighting back"

I think back to the past events of the soldiers and the younger child, what happened was sickening but she was right about fighting back, if they didn't no one would.

"I think that is righteous...the people here are treated awfully they should be grateful to have people like you fighting back, pirate or not"

The older woman let out a cackle before leaning against the edge of the ship. "You girl are interesting, you don't see many royals with that kind of view, I guess you and that red head have changed my views ever so slightly haha"

I look at her in shock, how could she have known I was royal, I wasn't even from this world, it was impossible!

"H-how did you know?"

"Oh don't be so stupid child, it's as clear as day, the way you say things with such high command even though you're just a child, the way you look at things as if you've never seen them before, good and bad all suggest a pampered life"

I slowly look down to the floorboards and frown, was it really that obvious?

"Don't fret child it's not a bad thing, you aren't like the others I can tell. Do tell me girl what kingdom are you from"

I sigh slightly thinking back to my home and how it had probably been taken over just like this kingdom had been...it made me feel sick just thinking of it.

"It's somewhere far away, but it's in need of just as much help as this place is and one day I'm planning on finding my way back there and taking back what is mine. But right now this is my duty, protecting this world from all those evil doers and saving the innocent"

Gi-Gan grinned at me before turning to look behind me as a slow applaud came from behind me.

"How touching is that, what a righteous princess you are"

I turn around to find Jae-ha walking towards me a grin on his face causing my eyes to role. Gosh his attitude towards me changed all the time I could never tell when he was being serious or not, it bothered me a lot.

"Is there a problem with that?" I questioned crossing my arms.

He shook his head, "No of course there isn't, I'm just surprised a royal could think like that I thought you were all stuck up ponces"

"Well I guess having everything you've ever been and loved ripped away from you by someone who you once trusted with your life changes you, for good or worse I don't know" I said with a little more spite than intended.

He looked at me with a shocked expression before his eyes flash with a sudden sadness as If he was thinking back to something. I felt bad about saying it like that but it was true, and it did change me a lot but I didn't intend to live with that holding me back.

"I didn't know" He said quietly not looking directly at me.

I sigh, "Yeah well maybe you should just think about what you say in the future, we all have a past good or bad, you shouldn't judge someone based off of rumors or past experience, we are all different Jae-Ha"

He shrugged at me, not knowing what to say in reply. I didn't mean to lecture him on it, he wasn't a bad person, I knew that at least otherwise he would never have saved me. Plus he wouldn't be fighting with the pirates in the port. He was good and I knew that at least.

All of a sudden a fist came towards both me and Jae-ha, we both blocked it instinctively causing Gi-Gan to laugh again.

"Come on you two stop with the soppiness, that's boring. Come and have a drink before we start getting ready, we've got a lot to plan if we want to take down Yang Kum-ji and his men!"

I blink in confusion as I had completely forgotten she had been there when Jae-ha walked to us. I then glance at Jae-ha who was no longer frowning, instead he had a grin on his face and his arm around Gi-gan.

"I wouldn't mind if I do" He said with a chuckle before glancing at me,

"Coming Princess?"

I chuckle, "I guess a drink wouldn't hurt"
