Skadlig roared in pain. "That hurt!" he hissed, glaring at Kevin. "Thanks, want another?" Kevin teased as he slashed the dragon's nose. Kevin then ran out, catching up to Kara and the Alicorn children. "We don't have much time," said Kevin. "Ya think?" Kara asked as she gave three of the Alicorn children to Kevin. She grabbed him and said, "hold on!" Kara then started flying out of the cave, three of the Alicorn children on her shoulders and left arm, Kevin on her right arm, Kevin holding two of the Alicorn children on both of his arms and one on his shoulder. For a normal mortal this would be considered very heavy, but since they both had the strength, carrying the Alicorn children wasn't too difficult for Kara or Kevin. A minute later, Kevin and Kara flew out of the mountain with the Alicorn children in tow. "Let's get the hell outta Dodge!" Kevin said as they flew out of Mount Karloff. But right behind them, the mountain exploded open, and Skadlig burst free, massive wings spread, roaring at them. Kara took a quick peak and said, "he's gaining on us!"

"See that grassy area that ends where Mount Karloff begins? Let's take the children there," suggested Kevin. Kara then gently placed Kevin and the Alicorn children on the grassy area. "I'll take a shot at that dragon," offered Kara. "I'll protect the children then," said Kevin as he used his shield and cape to protect the Alicorn children. Kara then flew over and faced Skadlig. "Well hello what have we here?" Skadlig asked, "could it be Kevin wasn't alone?" Kara cracked her knuckles and said, "leave those foals and my boyfriend alone!" She then punched Skadlig square in the chin, knocking several teeth out. She then punched Skadlig in the gut, knocking the wind out of him. Skadlig growled and then breathed fire out of his mouth, all the fire landing on Kara. Skadlig consumed Kara in fire with the intention to kill her. Kara screamed in pain. "KARA!!!" Kevin yelled in fright. The impact of the dragon's fires threw Kara back, and she landed smack on the ground next to Kevin and the Alicorn children. Kara's Supergirl outfit was a burnt mess. Her sleeves were gone, the bottom of her top was torn to where Kevin could see Kara's belly, her red skirt was torn, and her red boots were burnt away, leaving her barefoot. She groaned in pain. "Kara, are you okay?" Kevin asked. "Barely," groaned Kara, "that dragon's fires are clearly dark magic. And you know how Kryptonians are around dark magic."

"Duly noted," said Kevin. Skadlig looked down upon Kevin and Kara and said, "that's funny, I was expecting the girl in the cape to be toasty by now. Looks like you two put up more of a fight than I thought. I'd be impressed, but sadly I have to kill you all." He chuckled darkly. "Shield the Alicorn children," instructed Kevin as he readied his shield. Skadlig breathed fire on Kevin, but Kevin used his shield to protect himself, Kara, and the Alicorn children from the dragon's fire. The fires didn't harm Kevin, Kara, and the Alicorn children thanks to his shield, and the enchanted armor. Skadlig stopped breathing fire and asked incredulously, "why won't you two die?!?!?!?" Kevin looked at Kara and admitted, "I didn't think that would work..." Then Kara had an idea. "Hey Captain, are you pondering what I'm pondering?" Kara asked. "Is it staying alive?" Kevin asked. "Well I was thinking, your shield is strong enough to withstand intense heat," explained Kara, "maybe my heat vision could bounce off your shield..." Kevin pondered this and then said in realization, "oh I get it, like a ricochet! I'm definitely pondering what you're pondering, Supergirl." Kara stood up and said, "let's aim for one of the eyes." Kevin aimed his shield at a specific direction, and then Kara struck her red laser from her eyes, and the red laser hit the shield and bounced off, and then landed on Skadlig's right eye. Skadlig roared in pain. Kevin looked at Kara and asked, "got enough strength left in the tank to throw me?"

"I got you covered," assured Supergirl. "Let's go long," said Kevin as he took several steps back and then ran forward to Kara. Supergirl then caught Kevin and threw him towards Skadlig. Supergirl used her heat vision and struck Skadlig in his long neck. Kevin raised his sword and quipped, "yippie ki-yay, Skadlig." And that's when Kevin sliced Skadlig's head off with his sword. Skadlig's severed head fell off, and the dragon died. Kevin slayed the dragon. Since he was in the air, Kara quickly flew in and caught him in time. "Nice one, Captain Courageous," she commended. "Thanks for catching me in time," replied Kevin. Once they landed on the ground, Kevin looked at Kara and said in Kryptonese, "I love you." Kara smiled and replied in Kryptonese, "I love you too." And then they kissed on the lips.
