Chapter 14: Dragon's love
Edel led us to a practice room, big enough for twenty dragons. Each began to practice with a fairly large mannequin.
It was easier to train as a team, but we had a big problem: coordination. After about two hours between practices and breaks, Ray had to dodge a ground blow from Thorr, I was nearly electrocuted for getting close to Ray when he did his electric ball, and at some point, Edel's ice spikes melted when O touched my flames.
"Wow, sorry Edel" I apologized.
"No, I'm sorry" he said, "I should have aimed from another angle."
"This is not working," Ray said.
"Yes, maybe something is missing," said Thorr.
We looked at Flame's team, they did better than us, but not perfect. Sometimes they also collided with each other.
"Hey! I think it went wrong" they said when something failed them.
Spyro approached his brother's group, surely, he was going to give him some advice. Ember was there too, sure to cheer Flame on. Meanwhile, Cynder approached ours:
"Is everything okay guys?"
"Not so well," said Thorr, "We are not well timed."
"We still have time until tomorrow," Edel encouraged, "We can still do it."
"Well, any suggestions?" Ray said, looking at everyone.
"They can try to attack from different angles" suggested Cynder, "that way, the attacks won't collide, and they won't hit their teammates either"
"Well we will try. Let's get back to it. "
"Wait Jhonny, I have to talk to you for a moment" I went with Cynder for a moment. The others continued.
"What's wrong Cynder, trouble?" asked.
"Not exactly, I was talking to Ember and Edel on the way back, and she confessed that she likes you a lot"
Direct hit, to the heart. I never thought that the dragon I felt something for, felt the same care that I.
"Seriously?" I said in shock, "I never expected it. But I have to admit that I really like her too. Thanks for the tip, but I'd better practice again "
I went back to practice, attacking from different angles was paying off. Now, we are testing four large mannequins. Each one beat theirs with their specialty.
"I think we already have it," Ray said.
"So, it seems," Thorr said, "but I think we should be more creative. I mean, something new, that draws more attention, but that is also coordinated teamwork".
"I think I have an idea" I turned to Thorr, I had thought about that possibility since he was training alone, "Do you think you can repeat that ground hook? But this time it hits Ray. "
"Hey! Why me!?" Ray was scared.
"Easy friend, use your electric sphere, it will adhere to the ground hook. At least, I think so"
"I hope you are right..."
"Me too," Thorr opined, "I don't want to end up hitting a friend."
They tried; Ray surrounded himself with electricity in the form of a sphere that covered him. Then the mannequins appeared. So Thorr used his ground hook and threw it at Ray.
It worked: the hook attached itself to the sphere, presumably by electromagnetism, and the four dolls were knocked over with a single blow. Upon colliding, the ball and the hook came undone, Ray was fine, a little dizzy, but no injuries.
"Wow, it worked! But you should have told me that it would be as if I were the projectile! " I laughed.
"I don't think so! It worked! said Thorr, "What move was that?"
"It seemed like a combination of earth and electricity," Edel said, "How did you know it would work, Jhonny?"
"I wasn't really sure," I said, "but sometimes the earth can be a powerful magnet with the necessary charge. A magnet is something that attracts certain things".
They looked at me strangely, surely wondering how I knew something like that. No one other than Spyro, Cynder, Flame, Sybilla, and the Guardians knew where I was from.
"It was something sensational!" Edel told me, and I felt a little proud of myself, "You are so wise that you could definitely be the guardian of the fire. Could we combine your fire and my ice? "
Wise me? That was impossible: I was quite forgetful, aside from a little distracted and clumsy. How could someone like me be "wise"? I was becoming aware of telling them the truth.
"Well, that would be more complicated ... fire and ice are opposites, and I've never known how to combine them."
"Hey, friends!" Flame said, "Our group is already retiring to rest for tomorrow's test. See you at the test "
"See you tomorrow" we say goodbye. Flame's team left the room.
"We're leaving too, let them rest," Cynder said goodbye.
"They sure do well. See you tomorrow" said Spyro. And both withdrew.
"Well, I think it was enough practice for today let's rest" Thorr declared, looking around "I think we could sleep here."
"Well, let's find sheets to settle in before we sleep," Ray suggested.
"Good idea" said Edel, "everyone bring some to make your bed"
We left the practice room. The moon had already risen and the constellation of the dragon had appeared. We decided to form two search teams to finish faster: Ray went with Thorr, and I went with Edel.
"I like the way the night looks," Edel said as we collected a few leaves on the outskirts of town.
"Me too" I said, trying not to hide my feelings, "The moon is so bright that it gives me good feelings"
"Me too. Oh look"
I turned to see what he meant. A large number of petals, similar to dandelions, were calmly flying in the evening breeze.
"How cute" said Edel.

To one side, I could notice a large number of flowers. I decided to pluck up my courage and do the same thing Flame did with Ember. I picked up a light blue flower and offered it to Edel.
"Thank you" said Edel blushing and taking the rose, "It is my favorite color"
She blushed thinking of certain things, but we decided to continue collecting leaves. While we were working, bright butterflies flew above our heads. Wanting to play like children, Edel and I started chasing them.
However, at one point, I tripped and fell. Then Edel fell on me. However, she wasn't upset about it: She was looking at me smiling, just like me.
We got up; we were both blushing.
"Sorry for falling on you" she apologized.
"No, I'm sorry, it was my fault for falling first" I apologized.
"You do not need to apologize. By the way, you're handsome" she said, and gave me a kiss.
I felt full of happiness at that moment. I finally had someone I liked, and I liked her too.
"Thank you, you are also very pretty" I said.
Then, there was a moment of silent.
"I think ... we should go back," Edel said.
"Yes, I think so"
We collected the leaves that we had collected and returned to the training room. Ray and Thorr were already there making their beds.
"Wow, finally a couple of lovebirds are back," said Thorr.
"This ..." I started.
"Hey, the important thing is that we came back," Edel said.
"Well, it doesn't matter if they had a lovely date or not," Ray said, "but we must sleep for tomorrow to pass the first test without problems.
Edel and I blush at the 'lovely date' comment.
"Besides" said Thorr, "We want to practice a little earlier."
"Well, let's finish the beds and sleep" I proposed.
The beds were not difficult to assemble, as Spyro and Cynder had taught me how to make them during the trip to LunaVillage. When we finished, each of us lay down on their own and we fell asleep.
The next day, we woke up early. As a team, we went hunting for breakfast (although we only hunted a couple of lambs that we had to divide equally). After breakfast was over, we went back to practice and Ray and Thorr went back to doing that fantastic earth-electricity combination they had done yesterday.
"I think I'll have to get used to being projectile" laughed Ray.
We all laugh. The next moment, Cynder entered.
"Friends, the first test will start in a few minutes" she said, "You should go now"
"Ready team?" Edel asked. We all nod, "Well let's go."
And we all left inthe direction of the square.
