As we start the chapter at Inkopolis, where we see Y/n in an army outfit along with Tari, Jeffy, Sonic, Tails Doll, Mario and Luigi are seen with their military soldier hats as they're all here to help out Ember and Meggy with the upcoming Splatfest Tournament.

Meggy: Okay you lazy Salmonids. Splatfest is in two weeks...And during that time...We're going to train all of you like your lives depended on it!

Luigi: Why did we get dragged into this?

Tari: We needed a fourth member... and Meggy's old teammates left.

Y/n: And the rest of us are substitute teammates in case one of us is down for the count for the upcoming Splatfest. That's why Meggy's old teammates are gone.

Meggy: And with them gone...you're our next best option. After Saiko and the others...but I think they're on holidays...

Sonic: Actually, they went to Japan since Saiko can't be in the Mushroom Kingdom because of Peach's anime ban.

Tails Doll: Yeah, and I blame Peach for what's she's done as the ruler of the Mushroom Kingdom. My dad's anime power that destroyed her castle was a complete accident. I hope she gets what she deserves after the anime ban was lifted. Maybe this Splatfest will get my mind of that stupid bitch!

Ember: Aren't you a little too young to train with us?

Jeffy: Age is just a number!

SMART!

Ember: Nevermind then.

Mario: Don't worry Meggy, my bro's really good at dodging. Check this out!

Mario sprouts a mini splatting out of his crotch and fires it at Luigi, who runs away in a panic as two inklings get hit, and eventually uses Sheldon as a shield to avoid getting splattered with orange colored Ink.

Mario: See?

Y/n: That was a bit too much, Mario.

Meggy: (Slaps Mario's Mini Splatter Away) Mario! This is serious! I need you to focus! (Gets Closer to Mario's Face) DO NOT SCREW THIS UP!

Mario: (Scared) Ok.

Y/n: This should be interesting.

Ember: Tell me about it.

Jeffy: Well, let's get this over with.

The gang is now standing at a shooting range

Meggy: Alright, let's start with the most basic of skills: Aiming!

Mario: Oooh! Me first!

Mario sprouts another mini-splatling out of his crotch, and starts firing wildly, but manages to miss every shot except for the last couple he fires.

Mario: (Leaning against splating) Mmmm-hmmm!

Meggy: (Facepalms in frustration)

Y/n: Well, that was idiotic.

Sonic: And gross.

Ember: Your turn, Luigi!

Luigi then suddenly imagines his splat gun as a pistol and panics after a single drop of ink comes out it.

Luigi: IT'S TOO VIOLENT!

Meggy: (Dumbfounded)

Ember: Are you f***ing kidding me right now?

Meggy: Tari, we've seen you shoot really well before, please show us how it's done.

Tari: Uhh...o-okay...

Y/n: Don't stress out, Tari. (Thumbs up) You got this.

Tari: Ok. I'll do my best.

Tari then aimed her weapon at the target, but the shot suddenly bounces off the target and causing the Inkopolis tower to fall and explode after it crash down upon impact.

Tari looks shocked by what she just did, and the others couldn't believe what they just witnessed when Tari made that shot.

Mario: NICE SHOT!

Sonic: Well, that didn't go well.

Meggy: WHAT WAS THAT TARI?! We saw you shoot really well at the carnival!

Tari: Uhh, well I'm only good at games and this is more of a sport...I'm really bad at sports...

Y/n: It's true, Meggy. She failed playing any real sport during one episode when we did a Challenge Chapter and Tari is not a good sports player. 

Meggy: Ugh...let's just move on...

Ember: Right. Sonic, you're up!

Sonic: Alright! Time to show you how it's done!

Then Sonic brought out his Ink weapons and thanks to his lessons of how to shoot a gun thanks to his husband, Shadow and managed to hit the target perfectly.

Ember and Meggy was shocked but impressed by how Sonic managed to hit the target perfectly.

Sonic: Yeah! Now that's how you hit a target!

Ember: Ok then...Jeffy, you're next!

Jeffy: (Brings out an ink shotgun) Yeah, but I don't miss twice!

BANG!

The shot managed to hit the target perfectly as Jeffy already passed the test perfectly.

Jeffy: YEAH!

Ember: ....Tails Doll?

Tails Doll then used his magic to summon an Ink rocket Launcher and shot it at the target, making a huge mess in the process and passed the test.

Meggy: Whoa...I guess he is capable of competing in Splatfest despite on how young he is.

Jeffy: Age is just a number!

Meggy: Alright we get it, Jeffy. Y/n, you're next.

Y/n: Alright then. (Bring out his Splattershot) Here we go!

Then Y/n did a few trick shots with his Splattershot gun, and the shots managed to hit the target with ease.

Meggy: Very impressive, Y/n. Alright, troops! Onto the next training course.

Ember: The Obstacle Course!

Then after they went through the target practice, we soon cut over to the massive, deadly obstacle course Meggy has set up, everyone looked terrified by how they managed to make this obstacle course so dangerous just to train for the Splatfest Games.

Tari: Ahh!

Mario: MAMAF***ER!

Luigi: Ooooh....

Jeffy: Uh oh...

Tails Doll: I don't like this.

Sonic: Aw man...Today's not my day.

Y/n: This is getting ridiculous.

Meggy: Alright, Luigi, you're up first!

Luigi starts crawling beneath the barbed wire and he's to be doing great at it so far.

Luigi: Waah! I'm doing it!

However, Meggy decided to kick the training up a notch as she holds up a remote and pressed it, activating "WOOMY MODE", which spawns a pair of splatling sentries that unleash a volley of ink at Luigi, sending him flying back to the start and into a wall.

Ember: Meggy! Are you crazy?! How is this gonna help them train for the Splatfest Games?!

Meggy: That's part of they should be expecting to be shot at the battlefield! You're up Tari!

Tari looks over nervously at the sentry.

Splatling Sentry: Bring me that ASS!

Then Tari falls over crying and covering her eyes and starts rolling, surprisingly making it through and dodging the ink successfully.

Tari: Oh my gosh I did it!

The others: (Cheering for Tari!)

Ember: Yeah! Way to go Tari!

Meggy: GOOD! Now next obstacle!

Tari then sees a rope going across a large body of water, which doesn't seem too hard to cross over

Tari: Um...

She then starts climbing along it, but then notices a Cheep Chomp below looking at her funny.

Cheep Chomp: hay angel! u da sexi!

Tari freezes in place as a large group of the chomps appear and start jumping up to try and bite her, scaring her and holding onto the rope for dear life.

Meggy: Well...doesn't look like she's going anywhere.

Ember: Uh, yeah you think so?! That's what you get for adding Cheep Chomps in the water for what you see as "Training".

Meggy: Shut up. MARIO!! You're up!

Mario: Aweee I don't wanna...

Meggy: Finish the course and...(Pulls out a plate of spaghetti) We'll have a lunch break.

Mario: (Inhales deeply then exhales) Let's-a-go. 

Mario effortlessly completes the course, getting barbed wire and Cheep Chomps stuck on him in the process, and crashes into the wall Meggy and Ember were standing on, sending them falling to the ground.

Mario: (Celebrating with his plate of spaghetti) Yipeeeeeeee. I did it! I did it!

Meggy: MARIO FOCUS!!

Mario: But you said we get a lunch break after I did that obstacle course.

Meggy: I just said that just so you'd do the stupid obstacle course. We have a lot more training to do!

Mario: But I am le tired. And your training is stressing us out!

Sonic: You're telling me! I may be fast, but this training is enough to break my legs if this keep up.

Tails Doll: And your way of training is too dangerous. I bet that's how your teammates didn't want to be on your team anymore.

Jeffy: Yeah. You're mean and harsh too.

Y/n: They do have a point, Meggy. Can you just tone down on the intense training just a little bit?

Meggy: Come on! We need to train; you guys aren't even trying!

Tari: Meggy...We are trying...

Meggy: Well, you aren't trying hard enough!

Ember: Meggy! That's enough! We're never gonna win this year's Splatfest if you keep pushing your friends too hard on this training! You need to calm down and think about what you did before we even try to continue training! Do you understand me?!

After Ember talked some sense into Meggy, she had a sudden realization of what he meant and walks off sadly. This has concerned the gang of Meggy walking away in sadness after Ember gave her a lecture of taking her training way too seriously that could get her friends seriously injured or possibly killed.

Y/n: Meggy! Wait! (Runs after Meggy)

Mario: Hold on, Y/n! Wait for me! (Runs after Meggy with Y/n)

Then as Y/n and Mario ran after Meggy, while the others all share a worried look, we cut over to a rooftop, where Y/n and Mario finds Meggy sitting by herself, looking down sadly.

Y/n: Hey Meggy...

Meggy: (Pulls out her splattershot) Go away, Y/n...

Y/n: Come on Meggy. Put the gun down. There's no need to get upset. We can talk about this.

Mario (With a pencil, notepad, glasses and beard) Yeah. Why don't you tell Y/n and Mario what's wrong?

Y/n: Yes, Meggy. Tell us, what's on your mind?

Meggy: You remember when we first trained all those years ago? We sat right here on this rooftop that very day...I told you and Red that I was an "upcoming star", and we were going to own the Splatfest...But it's been two years since then and I still haven't won a single Splatfest. I'm...I'm just a big disappointment.

Then Meggy starts crying, while Y/n and Mario looks over at her sadly.

Mario: You can't disappoint us; We have no expectations of anything!

Y/n: It's true. We can't always get what we want in life, but at least we gave it a shot back then.

Meggy: The worst thing is...I've been so mean to you two and the others...I feel like I'm losing sight of who I am.

Meggy then soon bursts into tears, Y/n taps her shoulder to get her attention, and holding out a Car plushie to calm her down while Mario gives Meggy the plate of spaghetti from earlier.

Mario: This is the lunch from the obstacle course...I want you to have it!

Y/n: Yeah, and Car wanted to give you this as well for being his new friend. He wanted to give it to you as a gift.

Meggy then giggles at both Y/n and Mario before the others soon arrive at the rooftop.

Tari: We're going to win!

Sonic: And we'll do our best to win this year's Splatfest!

Tails Doll/Jeffy: Yeah!

Meggy: Guys! I'm sorry for-

Ember: It's okay, we heard what you said. You don't need to apologize for anything!

Luigi: Yeah, its normal to get emotional over everything you care about. It's like when anyone around Mario mentions spaghetti.

Mario: DON'T TOUCH!

Ember: Or how Y/n went all Dark Sonic during the time Waluigi went rogue.

Y/n: That was two seasons ago, I'm totally over it.

Meggy: But I still yelled at you, and that's not okay. Winning Splatfest isn't worth it if I lose my friends along the way.

Tari: Aww, you'll never lose us, Meggy!

Sonic: That's right! We never let our teammates down for nothing!

Mario (Wearing a beanie, headphones and goggles like Meggy's): Yeah! Mario and his friends got your back!

Y/n: And we're gonna help you win Splatfest, no matter how long it takes!

Jeffy: Heck yeah!

Tails Doll: Yeah!

Luigi: I fight for my friends!

Meggy looks around happily as her friends cheer her on as she finally calms down and ready to continue training for the upcoming Splatfest games.

Meggy: Thanks guys! Who's ready to train?

Y/n: I am ready! You guys in for another round of Spaltfest training?!

The Gang: YEEEEESSSS!!!

With that, the gang soon resumed training, but this time Meggy decided to tone down on the intense training with Ember's help as the team sits in a classroom, with Meggy and Ember going over the main tactics for winning a turf war with each of them writing and typing down everything they need to know how to win a Splatfest Tournment.

Tari (Typing on a computer): Okie dokie!

Luigi (Writing it down on paper): Okie-dokie!

Mario: (Reading notes he wrote down on his hand) OKie DOKie!

Y/n: Hmm...interesting. (Absorbing the Knowledge)

Sonic: Fantastic. (Watching a Splatfest training video)

Jeffy and Tails Doll are just drawing with crayons of them shooting against the enemy team with Inkling weapons.

Then we cut over to the shooting range, Luigi and Sonic are setting up some targets.

Meggy: Alright Tari! The big ones are worth 50 points, the little ones are worth 100 points. It's a game now.

Ember: Yeah, think of it as Duck Hunt for the NES.

Tari: I don't think it works like that.

Meggy: Just try!

Ember: Yeah, just do your best and you'll get the hang of it eventually.

With a spark of courage and determination, Tari fires her gun at the targets, hitting all of them easily as the gang soon started clapping in applause for Tari's efforts in target pratice.

Luigi: Wow good job Tari!

Meggy: WELL, DONE TARI!

Ember: Amazing job, Tari!

Y/n: You did great there, Tari.

Tari then spins her gun around, but drops and accidently sends it flying into Luigi.

Sonic: Ouch. That's gonna leave a mark.

Ember: Alright Jeffy! You know what to do! You don't miss twice after all!

Jeffy: You know it! 

Jeffy then fires the Machine gun filled with ink to the targets as he made a huge mess on the target range, which is still good since he did say that he doesn't miss twice after all.

Y/n: I think we should give him a solid 10. Pretty good.

Jeffy: YAY!

Then we cut over to a football field, where Luigi and Sonic are both standing in front of a wall of splatling sentries, with Luigi shaking in fear.

Ember/Meggy: Dodge practice!

Mario: Don't worry bro! Maybe this will help! Hit it bro!

Y/n: You got it, Mario!

Mario turns on a radio, playing a song with a lot of "Go Weegee!"'s in it, giving Luigi a confidence boost and letting him dodge their shots with ease. Sonic is pretty fast to dodge the ink bullets since he is the fastest hedgehog after all.

Sonic: Am I going to fast here? Cause I'm a freaking blur over here!

Then we cut over to an abandoned industrial area, with Y/n, Mario, Meggy and Ember are all on the rooftops, ready for a 2v2 duel.

Meggy: Time to fight.

Ember: You boys ready to battle against us or what?

Mario: Ahhh shet, here we go again.

Y/n: Don't worry, Mario. We got this!

Then the four of them engage in a duel, jumping around the rooftops trying to hit each other with ink along with dodging attacks and ink bombs. It was an intense battle for them, but when Ember and Meggy was about to shoot the Comedic Duo from behind Y/n and Mario did a Perfect Dodge and leaped over Ember and Meggy and shot them with their ink weapons, winning the duel.

Y/n: Aha! We got you!

Mario: Yeah! The Comedic Duo has defeated the Inkling Duo!

Then they both high-fived each other, showing how their hard work in training really paid off.

After the battle, Ember and Meggy are both overjoyed at how much the gang have improved from the training they did together.

Meggy: That was awesome you two!

Ember: Yeah! You finally beaten us after all of that training!

Y/n: Yeah! Whooo! (Victory Dance)

Mario: Yeah! Ha ha Ha! (Victory Dance)

BANG!

Mario's victory dance was short lived as Meggy shot him with an ink shot, sending Mario flying into the water for letting his guard down.

Meggy: You two got to remember to never drop your guard though!

Y/n: (Thumbs up) Got it!

Mario: (Gives a thumbs up as he sinks down into the water)

Timeskip - After the Splatfest Training

After a long day of training, we soon cut on over to a back alley, where the gang are relaxing after all of that training, thanks to Meggy and Ember's training methods.

Meggy: Thanks for today guys. You all did really well.

Ember: Yeah, you guys really improved a lot during the training.

Y/n: Yeah! Now we're sure to win this year's Splatfest!

Luigi: (Laughs Happily")

Tari: Yay!

Mario: Mario's Gonna Kill Some B****s!

Then they all dance around happily, until Mario is suddenly shot by a volley of ink, to the others shock at the shooter, Desti, is revealed standing at the other end of the alley.

Desti: Don't make me laugh.

Y/n/Ember/Meggy: DESTI!!?

Desti: Hello Meggy and Ember, it's been a while. Same to you, Y/n and uh...Mayonnaise!

Y/n/Mario: (While flipping her off) It's Mario!

Tari: Meggy...is this an angsty friend of yours?

Sonic: Yeah, she's a real asshole!

Jeffy: Want me to beat her up?!

Tails Doll: Save some for me, Jeffy. I'm gonna claw whoever this weird lady's name is.

Desti: I'm DESTI!!! Leader of th-

Meggy: -leader of the Octoposse. Yeah, yeah...No one cares about your dumb group!

Y/n: Yeah. Why are you even bothering us anyway? If you're just here to be a jackass to us, then get lost!

Desti: Sorry to ruin your happy moment, but I highly recommend that all of you should pull out of splatfest. There's no point in competing.

Luigi: Why are you so mean to me?!

Jeffy: Don't be mean to Uncle Loogi. He's really sensitive.

Tails Doll: Yeah, never meet your idols as they all say, right, Uncle Loogi?

Luigi: (Angry) It's-a-Luigi!

Meggy: Don't listen to her guys...She's only taunting us because she knows we can beat her.

Ember: Yeah, we all worked together to train for this year's Splatfest!

Desti: I'd like to see you try.

Y/n: Oh yeah, tough guy? What are you going to do to keep us from entering the Splatfest Games?

Desti then claps her hands before a large helicopter suddenly appears above Mario and Sonic.

Mario: Hmm?

Sonic: Huh?

It turns out that Desti plans to sabotage the team as her crew managed to grab themselves a helicopter, with the rest of the Octoposse onboard along with spatlings aimed at the Splat Squad. 

Octoposse Member: KIDS GON' DIE TONIGHT!

Meggy: TAKE COVER!!! 

Ember: HIT THE DECK!!!

The Octoposse unleashes a torrent of ink at the heroes, forcing them to take cover (Or use Sheldon as a shield, in Luigi's case), until Ember and Meggy notices that Desti is stealing all their weapons.

Meggy: THEY'RE TAKING OUR WEAPONS!

Ember: THAT CHEATING BITCH!!! 

Y/n: Grab her before she gets away! That Splattershot I own was a Christmas Gift! 

They plan to go after them, but it was already too late as Desti jumps aboard the helicopter, which starts taking flight again, making their getaway with the gang's weapons in tow. 

Without their Ink weapons, they can't participate in the Splatfest Tournament. 

Desti: Nice seeing you again Meggy!

Meggy: HEY! GIVE THEM BACK!

Ember: GET THE F*** DOWN FROM THERE!!! 

Mario: Urgh, No! Imma gonna get you! (Runs after the Octoposse) 

Y/n: Hold on, Mario! Wait for- GAH! 

Then suddenly, just as Y/n was about to go with Mario to stop Desti and the Octoposse from escaping with their weapons on a helicopter, Y/n's sudden headache attacks happened again and this time, he's about to black out due to the intense pain and pressure that made him collapse on the ground and pass out. 

Tails Doll: (Shocked) AAH! OH MY GOD!! 

Jeffy: AAH!! DADDY!!! 

Luigi: Somebody call 911 immediately!!! 

While the other deal with Y/n, Mario immediately runs up to the roofs climbing up to try and catch the chopper.

Mario: Watch out! Come here bitches!

With a powerful long jump, Mario managed to jump his way over to the helicopter, but Desti pulls out her gun on front of him, stopping him in his tracks. 

Mario: D'oh!

Desti: Nice try~!

She fires the gun, sending Mario crashing back down the alley before Sonic managed to catch Mario before he hit the ground as the blue blur made his way back down with Mario in his arms to meet down below with the others as Meggy holds onto the unconscious Y/n in her arms. 

Mario: Sorry guys. 

Sonic: Yeah, sorry that we couldn't get the weapons back from Desti. 

Meggy: It's not your fault, Red. You did your best. 

Ember: And besides, Y/n just suffered a major headache and he just passed out and collapsed on the ground. 

Tari: What are we going to do now?

Meggy: Looks like we'll have to kick some Octoling ass...

Mario: YEAH! Mario love big ol' ass!

Luigi: But what about Y/n? 

Meggy: I think it's best we come up with a plan to get back our weapons from Desti with or without Y/n's help. 

Mario: Better call Dr. Healer right away! He'll know what to do to help Y/n.

Luigi: Great idea, Mario! I'll call him right away. 

But then, just as Luigi was about to call Dr. Healer on his smartphone, a cop car pulled up out of nowhere in front of the gang with a cop holding his gun in front of the gang. 

Cop: FREEEEEEEEEEEEEZE!!!!

Meggy: (Shocked) I'm 19 years old, I swear! 

Brooklyn Guy: You sure about that, cause you look a bit younger to me. 

Meggy: (Angry) AGE IS JUST A NUMBER!!!

SMART WOOMY!!!
