Stone Fear
Sarah and Link stepped into the room and looked around. What they found was terrifying. It was like a lake, but with a consistency like tar. Sitting in the trees were birds and bats. There were also other animals, turned completely black. Frozen. They were like... statues. Sarah shook her head as she realized what it was.
"Link! Be careful!" she yelled as Link fell into the lake.
Link climbed out of the lake, but stopped moving soon after. Just like the animals. Sarah sighed and began to hover, in order to get over the lake. She used her magic to float the Link statue over with her. Once on the other side, Sarah "unfroze" him. Link looked down.
"Ah!" he exclaimed.
"Don't touch the water," she said. "It's cursed, and you'll become a statue if you touch it."
Link nodded, and they headed for the butterfly. Before they could get to it, the door closed, and the statues came to life. Sarah activated Nayru's Love (a spell given to her by her own love), and Link used the Hylian shield to protect himself. While encased in the blue crystal-like shield, Sarah conjured up a white, shimmery bow and began to shoot the animals attacking them. The arrows quickly took them out, and the doors opened.
"Let's go," she said to Link.
He nodded and they jumped onto their butterfly, flying to the final room where they would meet up with Morgan and the others.
______________
A/N- This room is based off Lake Natron, AKA the "Stone Lake" in Tanzania. It's a lake that's so filled with chemicals from a nearby volcano that any animal who takes a dip into it is frozen into a statue soon after. Unlike the previous locations, this one is rather creepy (hence the title Stone Fear). It's almost like something out of a horror film. It's definitely cool, if you're into a darker style, but at the same time it's also creepy. The chemicals are sodium carbonate decahydrate and sodium bicarbonate.
Fun fact- Sodium bicarbonate, one of the chemicals in this magical lake, is the chemical term for baking soda!
