Blue Flames

Nate and Zelda climbed off the butterfly and entered the second room.

"Nice," Nate said.

"Is that blue lava?" Zelda asked.

"Looks like it," Nate said. "Alright, so the monster will most likely come from the lava. We should try and find a weakness."

Zelda conjured up the Wind Waker.

"If it's fire, we should try and put it out," she said. "That should incapacitate it."

Nate nodded. He pulled out the Mira Sword.

"Are we ready?" Nate asked.

"Ready," Zelda said.

As if on cue, a monster made of giant blue flames appeared. Nate did his best to distract the monster while Zelda used the Wind Waker to provide a powerful gust of wind.

"Not strong enough," Nate said. "I think it's making the fire stronger."

Zelda nodded.

"I have an idea," she said. "Do you have an ocarina?"

Nate pulled out his ocarina.

"Yea," he said. "It's been passed down in the royal family for generations."

Zelda took her own ocarina out and played the Song of Storms. Nate followed her lead and played along. The resulting storm doused the fire, leaving the monster weak. Nate quickly grabbed his sword and with one good blow, the monster was finished.

"You're pretty good," she said, smiling.

"You, too," Nate said. "Come on, let's keep moving."

They jumped on the butterfly and headed for the next room.

A/N- This room is inspired by a natural phenomena known as blue lava. This happens at a volcano in Indonesia. It's made of pure sulfur, which causes the lava to glow an icy neon blue color at night. It's extremely beautiful, but also highly toxic. Impress your science teachers with that little bit of information next time you see them. And if they ask which volcano, the answer the Kawah Ijen volcano.
