Ancient Texts
The next day, Morgan found herself staring at the text. What did it mean?
"Hey," said a voice behind her. "What's up?"
Morgan looked up to see Zelda.
"Just studying this text on my sword," she said. "I lost my connection with my spirit, Jimmy, and then this text appeared on the sword's blade. I can't read it, and neither can Nate."
Zelda giggled.
"I think Nate should learn. It's always been tradition for Hylian royalty to know all ancient languages. This one, however, happens to be from my own time. So, it's not ancient to me." She ran her hand over it. "Sometimes sacrifice in the darkest times can create the brightest light."
Morgan looked at the text. That was what it said?
"It must be a message from Jimmy," she said. "His way of saying that he's still with me."
"Maybe," Zelda said. "So, your spirit sacrificed himself?"
Morgan nodded.
"Sonny attacked him in the Master Sword. They were fighting. Then, Sonny tried to put a curse on the sword, and Jimmy sacrificed himself to remove it."
"That's a very noble sacrifice," Zelda said.
"If I know Jimmy," Morgan said, "it was the only thing that could be done to save the sword."
Zelda squeezed Morgan's shoulder gently.
"You two had quite the bond," she said softly.
"He was my best friend," Morgan said, smiling. "In fact, if it weren't for him, I'd probably be dead."
"If that's true, then I know he's not completely gone, because he's always in your heart."
Morgan nodded.
"You're right," she said.
"Hey, Morgan!" Impa called. "You ready for training with Link?"
Morgan stood up.
"Yea, I'm ready," she said.
As she followed Impa, she couldn't help thinking about what Zelda said. But, the Princess was right. And Morgan knew it.
